There was SO MUCH missed potential with Sonic Chronicles. It coulda been really something if they hadn't rushed it out the door and bungled the music so bad, among other things.

Yeah, the bosses are too easy, but it also had some cool ones. I really liked the concept of the Hydrocity Act 2 boss. The first half I mean. The second half was okay as a complement to it but not much more than that.

I did play and liked both and the reason I say their the same is because their both just Sega jerking themselves off and going "Remember this part of this game?"
The only difference is that while Generations literally couldn't fall back on recycling old level designs (exceptions being classics Green hill zone and Chemical plant) due to it being mainly being Boost gameplay in locations that existed before boost and 2D gameplay in area's that existed after 2D while Mania had every callback level's first zone ape off its original design with a something like the pulleys from Marble Garden Zone added here and there, effectively making 1/3'd of the levels rehashed.

The other guy is correct. I took life drawing in high school just for the credit, then came back to drawing years later and just began practicing on a tablet. Obviously if you want to be a professional artist you'd practice on both the physical medium and digital one. But fr a humble lewds drawfag, digital would be fine.

The last part is software and most are pretty good. Photoshop is good, Clip Studio Paint is good, and Sai is good. Pirate whatever is easiest. Your choice of software will only really start to matter a couple years down the line when you're actually a good artist. I've seen good (see: fapworthy) art made in all 3 of those.

Because the Adventure era only just came back into vogue. About 8 years ago, near everyone was saying the era of Sonic and his Amazing friends was what was killing the franchise and SEGA took that to heart and started trying to reinvent the wheel.

The real issue with the expanding world system is that near NONE of it is ever expanded on or tied together in meaningful ways so all you're left with is a lot of fluff no one knows what to do with.

It's a solid 2D platformer and arguably plays more like a Sonic game than the Game Gear games do. It's only downfall is it re-uses old levels, but the level design is redone to where Pocket is basically a proto-Sonic Mania.
