The vast majority of the friends I have made in world have been thanks to the KT seige or the challenge arena quests. Anywhere where you can keep doing quests with the same hunters over and over and build some rapport, it just natually happens after a few quests. I don't get shit from the SOS's and wish it would go back to the old MP style for world. Some of my best online friends came from MH.

I watched my friend play Iceborne for a bit, but even with the Pro, the load times are killing me, and I don't feel like putting an SSD into the console.
Getting into Disgaes isn't as easy unless you really dig the whole billions of damage spiel. In my opinion, only the first Disgaea has a nice story, but by todays standards, the mechanics barely hold up anymore. I recently finished D5 and the story was terrible, but the jump in QoL is amazing for sure. That being said, I do feel like it's a subjectively bad SRPG if you don't exploit every mechanic the game gives you as it's really just about bigger numbers in the end.
As for Yakuza, take it slow. If you plan on completing a good chunk of the games, space out your playthroughs as the minigames get repeated a lot. Still worth it for Kiryu alone, though.

Consistency is key. Most people end up being friends due to consistent interaction and exposure.

Just play something that forces you to play with the same people frequently. Games with community servers are great for that. If you play there long enough and show at least some kind of personality you'll be a regular in no time which means you're basically automatically on friendly terms with the other regulars. At that point you could easily upgrade to full friend. I personally prefer close acquaintances though because that way I'm able to be gone for weeks with everyone being happy when I show up again instead of being pissed. I learned that the hard way.

I don't wanna sound like too much of a normalfag but if you're asking how to make friends you're probably going about it the wrong way, because in my experience they've always been something that just kinda happens, along with it being an unmitigated disaster if I try to force it.

Make an effort to be social, I suppose, no one is going to become friends with someone who doesn't talk. You don't have to (and shouldn't) go full ham trying to pry into what everyone's thinking and trying to get everyone talking, just saying some variation of "hey, how's it going?" when starting a an online game will eventually get someone blabbing about some dumb bullshit, and if that dumb bullshit is something you like blabbing about, friendship might occur.

The magic of it is that you don't even have to be talkative, you just have to say something that's essentially completely meaningless to initiate a conversation. If they ignore you or give you some rote reply, oh well, if they say something that you actually have some interest in, great, run with it from there. Failing that get drunk and see if that gives you a big enough boost to your CHA.
