How should Blizzard continue with Classic's Success?
How should Blizzard continue with Classic's Success?
missed the one where classic falls off and dies
I just hope someone realizes Classic is what every MMO player wants, and make a good MMO again
Realize that LFG, LFR, microtransactions, sharding, personal loot, fast leveling, poor crafting, all are killing retail WoW.
They already said that classic is getting no further updates, because when mentioned early on they were going to add QOL and graphic changes, the community start frothing at the mouth. This is it, this is all we get. What actually needs to happen is that they see what makes Classic good, and apply it to retail going forward.

A few days before the launch they said they would be open to any of those three ideas in the OP pic after they had released all the content there is, and they hadn't really thought it that dar ahead. I don't think they would dare to touch the current servers though but they could add parallel realms with TBC for example.
Remember when they said they weren't gonna make classic at all.
Pretty much this desu.
All is well and good now but eventually once the low level content has run its course there will be no one else to run the group content with- which will bar the way to the top for new players. And even if they are masochistic enough to quest and grind their way to 60 with nothing interesting to do along the way they'll find that the end-game content is barred by a long-since established in-crowd who want nothing to do with new players.
I.e. exactly what happened to the game before nu-wow.
I enjoy your seethe, and have been since November 2017. Thank you for adapting from “never ever” to “you don’t acrually want it” to “it’ll fail!”
They are obviously going to do TBC and Wrath. They already got everything for it and don't need to invest shit.
>TBC
>only allowed to transfer characters from Vanilla to BC
>only allowed to roll Draeneis and Bloodelves
>Wrath
>only allowed to transfer characters from Vanilla and TBC to Wrath
>only allowed to create Deathknights
There you go
Classic+ is the best case scenario, blizzard lost what little brain it had though so there is no hope.
As long as they only remove bugs I don't see why it would be so bad to add new content like zones or raids
It's bad because this is the company that shat on the game in the first place. The idea that modern day Blizzard could make something new for classic that's in any way good is fucking retarded.
It's that or it decays into a degenerate cesspool in just a few years.
Impossible. They can't un-add what they added to retail. Battle pets, cheevos, lfd, lfr, autistic pet and mount collection, wod class gutting, new shit talents, new spec system, and globally all QOL and easy mode changes...
Retail autists would commit sudoku if they touched to that. Retail is never gonna be good again, accept it.
didnt people think the same of jagex
to be fair i dont know what the state of osrs is
Hear me out:
Instead of simply recycling old content ad infinitum because nostalgiafags and newfags brainwashed into thinking it's literally jesus, they develop new content but geared for classic. Instead of releasing new expansions and just juicing up numbers, they introduce steady, more horizontal progression that maintains level 60 as the cap but slowly gives players different stat spreads and more interesting trinkets to use.
Make it an AU where we never go through the dark portal.
I don't want to play classic again. I've already done all of it and wPvP alone isn't enough to keep me interested.
I don't want to play retail, it feels like a chore because the gear grind progression is way too all-encompassing.
Just start over.
Good, it doesn't have to exist forever.
Outlands with no flying would be perfect, but it's not happening. The zones were pretty much designed for flying.
I would only play classic if it went off and did it's own thing. Personally I like the idea of being a no name adventurer rather than the hero of the universe. The only ting keeping me from playing classic is the really boring rotations/gameplay and dungeons/raids being faceroll easy
Adding TBC/Wrath servers would Classic and the entire point of having it. Classic+ or don't even bother.
Choice 3 by a wide margin
Yes: More dungeons, more raids, more battlegrounds, possibly more zones.
No: Flying mounts or other "QOL" changes, no raised lvl cap.
Well I think it's pretty much impossible to reach retail levels of fail.
I'll start playing once the quest guide following people that think they are suppose to grind to level 60 all quit
No they didn't, they said that they can do whatever and they aren't sure yet what.
unless its choice 2 it's doomed to inevitable death. choice 1 will die eventually, choice 3 splits the playerbase constantly, resulting in death.
Classic + is the best option, flying ruins the game, all zoner should be kept relevant all times and additional content should give side ways progression.
How fucking deluded must you be to think anything of classic+ would ever happen?
classic is literally just life-support for WoW, it will not be 'sustained' in any sort of creative way
it's something activision finally greenlit when WoW had absolutely no other option to remain profitable due to dipping under 1m subs while FFXIV player numbers continue to soar
This will bring people back but it won't sustain the game if blizz isn't frantically working on a good expansion for the 'real' game to milk this goodwill.
Classic+. Progression servers are for faggots.
as sad as it is, i get it, people never want to believe the companies they support actually hate them or have no plan.
>the community start frothing at the mouth.
these are people who defend keeping obviously unnecessary and unwanted glitches like quest markers bugging out on your minimap at random, why am i not surprised they flip the fuck out at the idea classic in that exact patch wasn't perfect
Battle pets - This is fine
cheevos - My only problem is linking dungeon/raid runs. API should hide those cheevos
lfd - My only problem with this is the teleportation to dungeon
lfr - Shouldn't exist
autistic pet and mount collection - This is fine
wod class gutting - This was bad
new shit talents - This was bad
new spec system - This was bad
I don't think anyone really expected OSRS to bloom from "runescape, but like in 2007" to what it is today. I'm not saying it's likely, but it's somewhere in the realm of possibility. also, going for classic+ would allow them to weasel in microtransactions that would instantly kill regular classic, with them being able to say "well we have regular ol classic if you don't like them"
Aside from that I think a progression server is probably the most likely, since you have loads of nostalgia to milk from TBC and WOTLK still.
