I've beaten the game
yeah I played that level and beat it when it showed up in Shovel Knight
Have you now?
Did you now?
Yep, but couldn't get through the next stage, that one with the surfboard.
I don't believe you.
I like to pop it on for fun and beat it.
Fuck the rat race level though.
I beat that shit with a keyboard in the middle of a class
The bikes are so annoying that nobody ever really talks about how annoying the platforms at the start are. They're drawn poorly so parts that it looks like you'll be able to land on, you'll just fall off the stage instead. It's also possible to fall off when you're killing the rats because this game is weird with how much the killing blows automatically move you. But people forget about all this because eventually they figure out and get to the bikes, and then the true hell really begins.
Did you know there's a warp on one of the columns, halfway through this section, where if you crash into it you skip a couple levels? For that matter, did you know if you kill the first two enemies in the game really fast there's a warp atop the next hill?
I certainly wish I had known that years ago.
Plenty of people have. The real question is did anyone ever finish it on 2-player mode.
How many stages are there after it?
That fucking snake-level is IMPOSSIBLE with 2 players. I swear to god.
Winger Clinger can go to hell. Shit filtered the fuck out of me.
12 stages total, but you can respawn at the final boss on her fight. I've made it to level 9 a couple times, I think with perseverance I could beat level 9 but it would take a long time. Looking at what I have to do to beat level 10 though, I dunno if I could do that

Rat Race and the wall bike level are aids
Once you learn the layout it's quite easy. The only question is if you bother with the teleport on wall 10 or just go the full distance.
It's interesting how when you look at videos like this the levels are only 4 minutes long, which really doesn't seem like a lot, but it's 4 minutes of incredibly tense and unforgiving gameplay. Also the way they paced the music on that level is really cool, if you're playing it perfectly like that guy it amps up right as you get to the intense segments then slows back down for the parts in between.
Dude u trollin there's a snow level after this, then the surfing level. Then it's snakes. Why'd it have to be snakes? There's a jet inferno level after that, then sewers, then that vertical air shaft with Robo Manus. Then there's the Rat Race, then Clinger Winger, which is as far as I've gotten.
Man this game sounds fucking wild.
>the final level
either you can't read or never played the game
It's arguably one of the best games on the NES, (though it has its flaws) but most people don't know that because they get filtered by the Turbo Tunnel
whoosh
Since the first two levels are pretty easy you'd think oh maybe the Turbo Tunnel is just an outlier and they accidentally made it harder than it was supposed to be and the rest of the game won't be so bad, but no, somehow it gets even harder than that.
