I want steampunk souls-like game.

Did it go away?

Nah they should make cyberpunk souls

darks souls i i i i when

Dark Souls is the single best thing that happened to gaming in the last decade. It showed everyone that Japanese can make a great action RPG by offering well thought out, imaginative level design, meaningful freedom and allowing the player to be appropriately punished in via deliberate mechanics that don't let you romp through things, within a world with a sombre atmosphere, but a nobility and beauty of its own. It corrected all the cancer that had crept into gaming and set things on a better path forward.

How about you play a good game?

But I already finished Dark Souls

Absolutely based

Bros, I tried this Remnant game because it was supposed to be """""souls-like"""""" but it was absolute shit and I deleted it after less than an hour.
Same with Greedfall, just talking blabla bullcrap.

When is From kino back on the menu?

Anything past Anor Londo has dogshit level design. Overrated game.

Every game that is "Souls-like" is never anything like Demon Souls/Dark Souls.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO ELDEN RING

Code Vein next week.

I'm ready for another disappointment.

Me too

We're doing Return to Lordran on the Switch on on the 22nd till the 28th, feel free to make a new character

Play the proto souls games In the meantime. Kings Field and Shadow Tower. It'll be back. It makes too much money to not be back.

new londo is good but short
duke's archives are fine if a little bit tedious
catacombs are god tier and totg is great
demon ruins are mediocre but not offensively bad, izalith is the one dogshit area
DLC is the best part of the game

I still don't get what's so awful about the second half of the game

This
Only izalith is actually bad. On my first playthrough of the game in 2011 I very fondly remember all of the post lordvessel areas (even to an extent izalith because crawling my way through the lava field with pre nerf dragon ass was a real achievement to me)

DS3 was shit

Where did it go? You can play it right this second

>DLC is the best part of the game
>Not Painted World

I love it too but I just really like the DLCs, ariamis is probably just behind, I love how many little secrets are in that area
and Ariamis is only arguably post-lordvessel

>Game of the decade at the start of the decade

Based

pretty much this

same with Witcher 3 :)

Attached: 1497370763917.jpg (400x400, 65K)

Nope

Witcher 3 is a boring slog of a game combat wise. The game has soul but it's combat is boring as shit.

Like how can people tolerate this?

Attached: terra formars.webm (846x430, 2.99M)

nigger taste

I mean obviously you are tolling the fuck out of me, but each Witcher game genuinely has a handful of major quests that are fantastic and would fit well with the style of game DS is.

But otherwise they are exactly the kind of "follow the marker to complete the fetch quest" games that Souls with its deliberate lack of handholding is completely opposed to.

Fantastically based

How does he get away with assaulting someone?

I want Metroid à la Souls.

Sorry, i only play good games.

kek

Once you become an industry legend you can act with impunity.

Same reason Jeremy Soule gets away with rape/

Its worse quality is that its an rpg though. The system is too tacked on and abusable.

Should made upgrades more like Zelda BOTW desu.

Does anyone have the "you didn't actually beat Dark Souls if you did any of the following..." copypasta?

>call friend to see if he wants to come over for pizza and play vidya
>he says okay
>when he comes over, we play some games on my SNES
>mom calls for a pizza
>play vidya for an hour or so
>pizza finally comes
>mom brings the pizza to the dining room table
>friend looks confused when she brings two plates to the table
>asks me why he doesn't get a plate
>tell him that he was only coming over for pizza and not coming over to eat pizza
>he looks even more confused
>says he has to go to the bathroom
>mom tells him where it is and he goes
>close to finishing our pizza
>wonder where my friend is
>think he's having stomach problems
>finish pizza and go to my SNES to wait for him
>see that my SNES is gone along with a couple games
>the faggot stole them
>never talk to him ever again

The last time I saw this was ages ago on the general

There are like, 3 bad areas in DS1
The whole le second half is shit meme is only used by shitters who don't actually know what makes dark souls so great

The game goes to shit the second you get the Lordvessel. Having to teleport around is shit.

Are
>Kings Field
>Shadow Tower
>Echo Night
>Eternal Ring
>Anything else they made that's interesting
Actually worth playing?
I'm interested in what else From have done besides Souls and AC

Hopefully never. Not that I have anything against Souls, I just don't want them to pump out sequels they have no interest in making.

I completely agree, its the game that made me realize that open world was a meme

You can do painted world the moment you get to Anor Londo.

You might want to play Eternal Ring to help prep you for Elden Ring.

Don't you need to traverse back to get the doll though?

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHH

You can go back to the Asylum whenever you want. I always do it before Anor Londo so I can immediately do Painted World.

You can literally go back to the asylum the moment you land in Firelink.

The warping just creates a tone shift, you've proven yourself as a player just like how the chosen undead has proved he can succeed Gwyn.
From then on your mission is clear and you're allowed to proceed in any order you like. You revisit old areas with new confidence in your abilities. Possibly old areas that kicked your ass due to being under levelled.
The level design only has two major flops after Anor Londo, but the second half has areas that are way better than some areas in the first half.
Bosses are the only real downgrade. The Lords are shit accept maybe four kings but even then there's Gwyn and the incredible dlc.
If having the ability to fast travel ruins all of that for you then just don't use it.

I'm playing the remaster on pc after I only had like bed of chaos and gwyn left in the original, before I quit and sunk like 400 hours in ds3. Holy fuck it's so much easier this time around. Killed Capra first time this time. I rewatched Joseph Andersons vids too, and they have aged so poorly. He really was an idiot.

>was
is

Anor londo is the most overrated area in all of soulsborne, yes the first time it was breathtaking to look at but then you realize it's nothing but linear hallways and stairs with shitty enemy variety and no exploration. Killing Gwynevere makes it unironically better.

It has everything that's praised about souls level design?
What's your favourite area in the game?

Yeah I know, I said arguably because afaik most people do it post-lordvessel just like the catacombs or the first half of the demon ruins, but you can technically do them before yeah

Most Souls levels are fairly linear, especially in 1. What makes 1 so great is how the levels connect in the overall world.

Give me the following:
>Steam Punk Souls
>Wild West Souls
>Caveman Souls
>Aztec/Egyption Souls
>Dynasty Souls
>Sci Fi Souls(I am not a fan of the Surge)
>Dark Souls 4

Attached: b51.jpg (680x383, 53K)

>Sci-fi Souls
Hellpoint looks sick
>Dynasty Souls
Drakengard

You need to unlock the parish elevator first don't you?

Finally someone who can form their own opinion and doesn't just listen to youtubers.

Soon

Attached: maxresdefault.jpg (1280x720, 159K)

absolutely based

No, it's still active on the Switch.

WHEN ARE WE GOING TO SEE ELDEN RING FOOTAGE FFS

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHH

I loved Dark Souls 1,2,3, Bloodborne and Nioh equally.
I liked Sekiro but not as much.
I'm eagerly waiting for Code Vein and Nioh 2.

I don't give a shit about Elden Ring.
I put more or less an average of 500 hours per game on Souls, BB and Nioh and I never gave a single fuck about lore, atmosphere or PvP. I simply never cared about why I was killing a giant armored dude.

What's the quickest route I can take to get paladin Leeroy's armor/weapon?
I want to cosplay as him.

Gaming's still in a cesspool of cinematics and non-challenging games.

Get your own opinion Yea Forumstard.

>The Witcher 3showed everyone that Japanese can make a great action RPG

Elden Ring

I miss it.

Attached: 0-1350187211304.jpg (600x866, 262K)

Can From even make a better game than Bloodborne? I don't think it will ever happen

Depends on whether or not they'll get a blank check from Sony ever again.

>478455127
SHATTERED

I think you can get Grant and Sanctus as soon as you want if you make a beeline for the Catacombs, since he invades before the TotG's gate that you need the Lordvessel for. To get his armor, you need to beat Nito (it's in his boss room after you kill both him and Leeroy as an invader), so there isn't really any way to speedrun that other than going for Nito as your earliest Lord Soul kill.

Elden Ring pls be good

You don't need to kill Nito or even get the Lordvessel, you can also just get to his boss room using the Gravelord coffin. You can go there right after killing Leeroy.

thanks guys, what weapon would you recommend me to take in order to rush through the catacombs?

Any mace should do.

Elden Ring next year baby

great post

Exactly!
They had no need to hire Game of Thrones man unless they wanted to create a product with mainstream appeal.
