I'm at level 43 and it's fucking boring. Questing is absolute dogshit and spamming dungeons isn't fun either. The gameplay is a slog and most everything in the game feels slow and awkward. I only play because it's what my friends want to play.

To me the best wow was the during TBC - WotLK era where WotLK started to show first signs of cancer flowing in the games blood. Then first cata content started to come out and I was not happy what they were going for and did not buy cata and my wow career ended there.

If the game changed so much, there is a reason. Vanilla was boring as fuck. Quests were boring, combat was boring, cities were uglier than ever.
I just miss the good ol skill tree.

It's $180 a year, and I doubt I'd actually find it fun any more. I actually was excited for Classic's release but now that it's here I'm just not interested.
I also played a Blizz-like private server for about a year a couple of years back, that got me my fill of Classic I feel.

During BC, flying mounts could only be used in Outland.

the experience was overall negative once the initial novelty wore off. especially since i have noone to play it with. i make one wrong step when killing mobs and aggro a second one and it's almost certain death and many mobs being in packs makes it a nightmare.
the grind itself is tedious and the combat is slow and dull, almost felt like i was playing runescape.
most of my time was spent autorunning across the map doing uninspired kill or collect quests for little tangible benefit.
i did a deadmines run and felt no desire to repeat it.
then i just asked myself what did i have to look forward to? the endgame content is very limited and i couldn't see myself spamming a single button over and over just for a small chance at getting better gear that i'd have no real use for.
who knows when bgs will arrive and the only other option for pvp is wpvp but i'm not gunna trudge through the grind just to dab on some lowbies, that'd get boring quick.
the layering exploits were the nail in the coffin as they made what little gold i'd managed to muster up feel worthless.
at least i had some enjoyment grouping up with people at times, the players were pretty friendly and helpful.
i decided to try retail for the first time since cata and it just felt like a dumbed down mobile game, though it was rather pretty at least.
maybe i've just grown out of MMOs desu.

It is what you make it, if you're going to be grinding the same dungeon hundreds of times solely to reach max lvl in the least amount of time possible, then yes, it'll be a slog. If you mix questing, dungeons, professions and the occassional mob grind, it might very well be a fun experience. In the end, you're doing the same thing at max lvl as you're doing while leveling, killing shit and getting loot, so there's no reason to rush.

Only a small minority of players have done any of the endgame content available atm. So while this may be a problem for a few no life poop sockers, it isn't for the vast majority. By the time most players will have set foot in Molten Core, BWL and AQ will most likely be out.

Alright, I've tried to play retail these past couple days and it's dogshit.
One of my chars is lvl 15, everything's a braindead chore. Then I rolled a DK, still the same dogshit leveling but with a mount.

There's literally no reason to still have levels in retail besides selling tokens to get maxed out characters.
It would be better if instead you just got gear progression and were unlocking dungeons and raids.
That's what retail is these days anyway.
