Of Metroid? Typically it's the dark, lonely atmosphere in an alien setting that makes for really immersive games, as well as a satisfying progression of power ups and upgrades that are satisfying due to rewarding exploration.
Of Samus? She's a cool proto-typical cool space hero in armor but with the twist that she's a gorgeous woman under the armor.
