no but people love pretending it's some epic hardcore experience like dark souls when all it requires is a learning curve

It's not about being complex, it's about every freaking key in the keyboard doing something and most have multiple uses depending of the context (being in a menu or the map)
Imagine how easier it'd be to play with an interface like Age of Empires 2.

Nah. It's just tedious.

The learning curve is a 90 degree incline but after that it's smooth sailing

The learning curve is nbd especially with current versions and advanced worldgen which give you loads of leeway to mess around without any really bad happening

It's not hard at all. You have to actually want it in order to lose. It's just clunky and a bit complicated.

It just has a shit user interface.
If it had mouse support and proper ui it would be just like any other game.
The simulation IS really deep which is what makes the game good and unlike any other.
