At what point will the United Nations categorise Sega's refusal to release Christian Whitehead's version of Sonic 3 under Crimes Against Humanity?

Who's in the bush?

Does anyone even know what kind of legal buttfuckery is even going on with the music in this game and Sonic CD? Because it really seems like not even fucking Sega knows.

My aunt works for Sega

Realistically I'm guessing it's a "We don't know who owns the music and we don't want to deal with whomever does suing us so let's just not release it"

sneed

Michael Jackson

How? He's dead.

>Sonic 1 & 2 mobile have pc versions
>Sonic CD has a config that breaks wine
>Sonic Adventure 2's config breaks wine
>Sonic Mania had Denuvo literally only to fuck over people that got the game for the dumbass retcon of it in Forces and they used A FUCKING ROM OF SONIC 1 to try and circumvent the steam refund system

Or is he?

They would literally NEVER sell that many sonic games, especially 3D ones as a collection.

Imagine this title for Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox Infinite, and Steam:
Sonic Essentials Collection
>Sonic 1, 2, 3, and CD
>Knuckles Chaotix
>Sonic Advance 12, and 3
>Sonic Adventure 1 and 2
>Sonic Heroes
>Sonic Rush 1 and 2
>Sonic Unleashed
>Sonic Colors
>Sonic Generations

Mania's Denuvo got removed months ago at least.

You're probably right, but if it were $100 like the Kingdom heard collection they might do it

If you're including Chaotix you might as well include Shadow the Hedgehog
It's better than Heroes anyway.

For 3&K, Micheal Jackson did it but asked his name be taken off because he didn't like what the Genesis sound chip did to them so it's in legal hell with his estate.

You're probably right, I literally just forgot about that game. I have it but haven't played it for some reason, it just doesn't really fit into any genre like the other games I blast through. It's not a typical course clear platformer, it's not a typical third person shooter, it's just weird. I'll probably play it soon.

It's literally just a game of sonic stages from adventure but sometimes you pick up a gun and throw a temper tantrum

I'd say it's more like Sonic Heroes but instead of janky combat you can pick up a gun and just shoot instead.

Yeah I suppose that's fair.

Do we really need it now that Sonic 3 AIR is a thing?

There's no portable version. I prefer to play platformers on a screen I can hold in my hand. I say this as someone who's played my Switch in public less than a dozen times.

Oh shit is that on the DS?

Why do I like this ship so much

Yeah, it sucks though.

Runs like shit don't bother. If you want portable sonic grab a cheap 2ds or a new 3ds. Runs like a dream through retroarch.

*barfing*
This collection is absolute garbage. Even picodrive on the DS runs the games better.
If you really need Sonic 3K on the go, play it on a hacked 3DS/Vita/Switch/etc.

>spoiler
You are a wise man.

Damn, yeah I'll play it on my 2DS. Thank you though.

Day one purchase from me

I have this.
Despite it not being the best means of playing the trilogy, it's essentially the only way for me to play 3&K unless by some miracle it gets added to the SEGA Ages lineup along with 1 and 2

tes

Duh.

Oh shit that's totally it isn't it

Michael Jackson isn't the reason

Then what is

Sonic 3 was included in compilation releases for years and even after his death.

And then suddenly this song appeared.
youtube.com/watch?v=H2OWC5Hosv8
Uploaded in 2009 and gained widespread attention in 2013. After that, Sonic 3 just stopped appearing in any Sega compilation or re-releases completely. Whatever triggered Sonic 3 to just stop originated from this point on.

I believe its due to Brad Buxer (who did collaborate with Michael Jackson), who was involved in the band that made the song this user posted Ice Cap is basically a Genesis remix of it, hence why they've stopped re-releasing Sonic 3, in order to avoid any legal issues

It's not that, one of the guys from the Jetzons is in the credits. He sampled his own song.

Then why don't they just re-release the pc version instead which had an okay replacement for that zone music.

Read what I said. Whatever triggered Sonic 3's exodus originated once hard times was discovered. It may be something directly to do with Hard Times, it may not. It just started with this song. Interestingly enough, Ken Pender's lawsuit against Archie happened around the same time.

Nobody gives a fuck about the PC version except you contrarians, and they weren't even decent replacements. Those songs only gain traction as a "replacement" after this whole mess happened.
Omission of those tracks would cause everyone to bitch. Don't even pretend you wouldn't use it as prime shitpost material if they took that route.
>HURR DURR! HOW CHEAP IS SEGA?! CAN'T EVEN AFFORD THEIR OWN MUSIC!

Sonic Advance 12 was my favorite!

>SEGA
>Being competent
In all seriousness, my guess is, they want to keep the original OST intact because people who've played the game back when it released and played it several times since will notice the difference in music and cause an uproar about it, as said

I had absolutely no idea that the music on the pc version was changed until 2 years ago. As someone who played the sonic 3 pc version it always sounded alright to me.

Sonic Heroes is AMAZING

It's not SA3, but I have no idea why people hate it so much, is it because it ISN'T SA3?

There's a very clear difference in composition quality once you hit Carnival Night Zone. all the way up to Launch Base. I'm sorry about your hearing loss issues user, but that is not a valid reason to use those dog shit songs.

>Play the same set of levels with minor variation 4 times
>Also, every level plays like an ice level

>every level plays like an ice level
>he played the ps2 version

Funny, but any true SEGA fan jumped on the Xbox OG boat you stupid Gaycube whore.

>Play the same set of levels with minor variation 4 times
It's okay when Nier does it

>being this insecure about your console choices

Sonic games were basically this though, try out the same levels and take different routes, improve time, score, ect.

That was the REPLAYABILITY of Sonic levels. Not the fucking entire game.

As if Carnival Night Zone was any good in the first place. The PC replacement was better than the fart noises the original Genesis version had.

This guy

Sure thing, man.

This will be for Xbox only.
It'll use the 360 versions of 1,2,3 and CD, Adventure 1, 2, Unleashed, and Generations, all downloaded via vouchers. The rest are via emulation done by Digital Eclipse.
Switch will just get SEGA Ages versions of 1 and 2.

At least we have Sonic 3 A.I.R till then

what distinction are you making?!
