the stick placement is so bad on the switch, it feels jarring to go from the stick to the d pad. should have had the d pad on top and stick bottom
True. I can't imagine playing d-pad heavy games on this thing.
Dpad on the top is only good for 2D games, switch is more 3D platformers so it makes no sense.
>b-based
>joystick stops working
Now what???
I actually really don't think playing d-pad on the regular switch is bad at all. It feels pretty natural to me, but maybe thats because I tend to slide around the dpad with the tip of my thumb rather than than rocking it around with the entire thumb print.
They probably work as intended on the lite
nah if anything both sticks should be on top like on wii u. If you hold a switch like you're playing an FPS, you'll notice that using the right stick is a lot less comfortable because you have to bend your thumb in a weird way.
So how is the smaller screen with RPGs? Do the menus get cluttered? Thinking of buying one to play Dragkn Quest 11 and 1,2,and 3 when they come in a few months.
I love my hacked vita.
Did you get your's early?
the xenoblade remaster is going to play like garbage on a joycon. you need to move and switch arts quickly.
Can't wait for the vita 2. Fuck that cheaply made cramp inducing low performance switch
Nah, it's from some preview
i wanna get one and sell of my old switch but holy shit i sure hope the joysticks don't magically fucking die
I love my hacked switch
agreed
just open it up & repair the thing?
how do i put a custom theme?
they aint joycons anymore
why the fuck did they keep those big ass bezels
Google.com
At this point I'd rather get a v2 Switch for the battery life whenever I catch one on sale, vs. one that's gimped for titles that use joycons motion for aiming and shit.
what's the point of the Lite if the default Switch is already portable and does more shit?
Finally they fixed what the switch should've been at the start. A handheld that fits in your pocket. A TRUE portable. Not the tablet crap we have now. If they added tv out to it and made a mini dock it would decimate the original switch sales. Nintendo knows this.
OG Switch doesn't fit in most pant pockets w/ a slim case.
i mean, true, but i'm skeptical and don't wanna take the risk
because you can actually carry it inside you pocket?
>If they added tv out to it and made a mini dock
So essentially turn it into a vita?
They wont, next Switch will be a same size model as the original with a better Nvidia chip in it.
>Switch Lite uses same USB-C port
>Video-out is locked
Why can't they just allow it but lock it to handheld-mode clock speeds if they're worried about heat generation (since smaller hardware w/ no active fan)
>putting that thing in your pocket
>with those analogs
Switch lite doesn't even fit in your pocket unless you're wearing cargo pants. I owned a Vita and its not comfortable to put in your pocket plus the fear of accidentally break the screen if you sit down
They needed a reason for people to buy the clunky tablet version.
according to the leaks that pop'd up the "lite" edition will be getting some kind of adapter later on the reason they didn't include one was to cut-down on cost keeping it at a steady 200$
on the bright side that means you'll be able to use it on CRT-TVs as well!
>putting electronics in your back pocket
>putting ANYTHING in your back pocket
nigga no one is going to carry their Lite in a fucking pocket, how deep do your fat ass pockets go?
It's not comfortable in any position user, most peoples wear jeans and its way to tight to put anything in your pocket. Unless you wear a slack 3 times your size or cargo pants
That's the perfect size, I kinda would have liked the original Switch to be so small
Yeah, I don't get it either. It's the same as the OG Switch, so much screen real estate is lost for no reason.
God I have mine and I love how portable it is. Fits right in my pocket and I just whip it out and play smash. Comfy as hell
I would have gotten one as a second Switch if Nintendo's account / save system wasn't so ass and I could easily just login to my Nintendo account and everything would just work between the two simultaneously.
I doubt Nintendo would risk it again considering they're surely losing a lot on the current free repair service. Obviously not enough to leave a dent, but still. Considering this a whole console, surely they implemented a new setup to prevent drifting issues. If not, they shot themselves in the foot
The point of the Switch is playing modern games on the go so the stick is on top to match the face buttons on the right.
I don't get you retards who want a Switch to play 2D games with a Dpad when there are other systems that can do that already.
you underestimate how many gamers are fat slobs who wear XXXL so of course this will fit in their sweatpants pockets
ARGGGGGHHHHH WHEN THE FUCK IS MY SWITCH LITE GETTING HERE WHY WONT AMAZON FUCK UP AND RELEASE IT EARLY AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Pathetic, go buy me a reddit gold account so I don't have to deal with your post
Was the Vita really that tiny?
I get I could replace the sticks
Hell I already replaced the sticks in both my vita and joycon
But fuck that's some good portability.
>what if vita but real sticks real buttons and real dpad
Magical.
Why don't they just make one the size of an iPhone? It seems to be the universally agreed upon "Not too big and not too small" of portable displays
Fuck off retard, we're making a game system not a fucking phone.
I wasn't planning on buying one but this image just sold me
only snoyniggers like their d-pad on the top, just how you like your boyfriend's to be on top too
It's a portable, why not take from the dominant portable electronics? Hell a Galaxy Note 10 is comparable too.
this image is pure soy
God I'm so fucking happy I grew up with 3D video games and am completely unconcerned with the placement of the menu navigator.
>Tfw the internet is so entangled that it's basically impossible to get a name and age off a random selfie like this
There are only a handful of Switch games that feel proper to play in handheld mode, compared to a controller, the handheld mode feels like shit and I can't exactly put my finger on why. It might be the distance between sticks compared to a traditional controller or how your hand rests on the flat back.
Really? I almost exclusively play my Switch in handheld mode, especially platformers.
I played through Hollow Knight completely in handheld mode fine, which is why I can't exactly pinpoint my problem with the handheld mode, I think it has to do with the analog sticks.
cool
Controller wise yeah dpad should be next to right analog. Using a portable like that is terrible.
