I go to my locals every week and bigger tourneys as well. It's pretty fun, don't be afraid to ask to get next if people are already playing. Also don't be afraid to ask questions about stuff in the game or your play your not sure about, assuming they're not assholes, most people will gladly answer you.

It's really suffering when the cravings hit. Even Popeyes is like a 15+ minute drive away
Lots and lots of nerves if its your first. If jt affects your play then try and keep ylur combos simple etc. Just relax and try to have fun. Expect a wildly different skill difference both bad and good. Most importantly make sure you get in a ton of casuals. Communicate with the people you're playing if they're beating you, ask for some tips etc. Tournaments are a fantastic place to improve.

She's a really fun character but definitely alittle trickier to do some of the more fun stuff in her combos.

the ratio depends on your scene, it might be all shitters, it might be all gods, though theres usually at least 1-2 lower level people. As for questions it would be whatever your unsure about. I suppose it depends on what you already know. Play through the tutorial if you haven't already. If there's any setups or moves you get hit by or your not sure how a move works, you can ask those sorts of questions.

I picked merk against you because I think I remember doing poorly against you with my subs last time but I can pick wald next time. I was also avoiding him because I haven't fully mastered SPD motions on my new pad yet.

I guess it boils down to what you're not in the know about in particular match-ups but that also depends on your background knowledge.
I guess you could also ask if they know anything about your character's tricks that you should use more.

I get so many fun matches with my cool friends in these lobbies. They even let a pancake like me play in them.

This is really dependent on what's happening. If something is constantly beating you, ask how to answer it properly. Or if you're getting hit a lot in neutral ask what they were scouting for to capitalize etc. Try to be specific but there's hardly a bad question, you just get better answers the more specific you are.

Would this game completely break if it had neutral guard (as in, you automatically standing block if you aren’t pressing anything)? After playing a bunch of Tekken I’m starting to miss it. Mostly because it’s much easier on the left thumb since you don’t have to hold back all day

Just a bit of advice from a scrub, Wag has the disadvantage at round start against most of the cast. Her starting options can (and will) be beaten by your opponent's. And they're unsafe too. For example: 66c and 236a are only safe with meter and even then you can get hit before they come out.

no I don't think it would change much as it's more a mixup of knowing when to switch blocking from low to high or when to interrupt a move.

Her music theme, actually. Having a Pachabel Canon in D reference was one aspect that I liked as it tickled the classical musician in me. Her chronicle story being decent was also a nice bonus.

I feel ya there on getting the confidence to go in for stuff with 360C starter. 100% of the time that I land it is luck currently. Also, yeah zoning out lifebars is dangerous.

I found it quite difficult to get in tick throws due to your Mika play having really fast normals in pressure and my tk. Kuuga combos didn't happen all to often on you either since you were doing a good job stepping away from that.

For that, the best answer to Mika's j.[C] is to shield it. The extra lag that shielding it incurs allows you to punish her at your leisure since she is not able to cancel it into any other moves or CS out of it in time.
