If they made new Amiibos of the fighters from 4, using their poses from Ultimate, many of which are no longer idiotic action poses that have to be held up by a plastic stick. I would absolutely buy one or maybe more. As it is I refuse to buy one because they're in the 4 pose which is already outdated. I don't know why Nintendo's passing up on free money like this.
If they made new Amiibos of the fighters from 4, using their poses from Ultimate...
Pitch it to them, not me
This is the board they go to the most.
It probably costs more then they would make from sales to make whole new figures. Plus, why bother when the originals still sell well?
I sincerely doubt that, these figures are not expensive to make. Plus, they would make twice as many sales from people who would buy both sets. They are missing a massive opportunity here.
Nintendo is playing conservative with amiibo's post the animal crossing debacle.
I blame that on the Wii U, if they tried it again on Switch I highly suspect it would succeed this time.
Amiibo festival should have been a few download and that wasn't what I was talking about anyway, they just produced so many that stores are still trying to get rid of them.
*free download
Yeah, because they overestimated the Wii U's popularity. Now that Switch is a huge hit there are way more people willing to buy Amiibos.
>animal crossing debacle
elaborate
>many of which are no longer idiotic action poses that have to be held up by a plastic stick
A lot of Ultimate's renders are still not designed to be translated into amiibo. The Squirtle one that's due for release is one such example. Otherwise I agree with the sentiment that Ultimate's renders are far superior to the majority of 4's. The only one that got worse during the transition imo was Meta Knight.
Nobody bought Animal Crossing Party: Bring Your Toys Edition.
At least with those ones they use much less unpleasant looking plastic instead of ugly sticks. They have it bent in some way that looks more natural.
te
amiibos arent as successful as you think they are. they only do about one per big title these days, if any at all. It was a fun experiment while it lasted but you know what, so were e-reader cards.
Come to think of it, the e-reader was pretty heavily tied to Animal Crossing, just like Amiibos. And you know what else was tied to Animal Crossing? Wii Speak. You know, that misguided attempt at voice chat that they never used? What's up with Animal Crossing having a history of being tied to failed peripherals?
I made this list prior to the game's release. My prediciton is that they're only going to make P2 versions for characters that
>Had a significant change in visuals since 4
>Or have an alt costume to make a new figure
I'm not sure they'll even bother with that, they take so long to make Amiibos in the first place that they seem to be doing the bare minimum. Which is dumb because Ganondorf, Link and Zelda look so different that why on earth would you not make new Amiibos for them and yet here we are.
It wasn't the Wii U, it was that the only game the Animal Crossing amiibo were for was trash. If it was on the Switch it would have the same issue of being awful.
I don't know. I joined a Facebook group dedicated to collecting amiibo because I wanted the Charizard one, and those things are kinda rare to come by. I don't really collect them (only have the Char and Tom Nook because he's a cool guy) but since joining the group I have noticed that new waves of amiibo are kinda hard to come by. They usually sell out within the first couple of days, maybe weeks. Or maybe this is yet another example of artificial scarcity.
>many of which are no longer idiotic action poses that have to be held up by a plastic stick.
I can keep going, if you want.
