Seeing as how he's the most consistently requested character across the globe, being the only character to place in the top 10 in all 3 regions, I think he's got a fair shot since Sakurai is actively adding in popular picks, such as Ridley, K. Rool, Simon/Richter, Banjo, and Sans, even if he is only just a mii gunner, its still important to note.

There's no way he's coming in the first set of fighters, but he's got a legitimate chance at getting in the second set, which makes me very happy.

Final Fantasy didn't start fading out from the series until after KH2. Also the Disney content has not grown more important whatsoever, it went from being important in KH1, to getting fully shafted in CoM and onward.
There's a reason why people complain about KHIII's story pacing, literally nothing fucking happens in the Disney worlds, and all the plot gets thrown at you in the last few hours of the game.

The only reason they respect Nomura is because Sora is a videogame character. Basically from an industry that you and I both know Disney does NOT know the first thing about how to truly succeed in. Even mediocre games or cheap sequel games like Call of Duty require too much effort to become successful game franchises which is too difficult for the mouse. This is why they relied on Capcom making their best games back in the day and now it's Square Enix who they rely on. This is an industry where Disney is NOT king. So the last thing they can afford to do is anger Square Enix.

And in time, after enough years pass? You know that Disney will hire new people in positions of power. They will use their authority to restrict and piss off Square Enix and Nomura. DQ is the only JRPG series that's still actually about men. Sometimes you play as a child, but no matter what they're growing up and becoming men. In Dragon Quest 1, true completion means getting laid before killing the dragon. DQ3 is about a guy that is such a huge chad people suck him off in 1 and 2 constantly. DQ5 is literally about choosing which woman is perfect for continuing your genetic line and procreating all white children, and the canonical choice is blonde hair, blue eyes, white as the Aryan snow, and this is all while the MC is making monsters submit to his will and being one of the strongest guys around without even being the chosen one of his era.

First, no. Most of Sora's attacks are not basic sword attacks are tend to have a lot of weird flashy shit that lends itself well to super specific multihits or sweetspots. He's closer to Bayonetta than he is to, say, Hero.
