Destiny's horrible presentation of its universe is really insufferable, yeah. It's a real shame because when info about the game first started to surface, it really didn't feel like it was going to have as much as a medieval vibe in the way its characters spoke and were organized, or that fantasy aesthetic would dominate so much of the gear and weapons. That all really feels like it crept in later, maybe after original planners/designers left. Early concept art has very little of that shit, can't recall the image of early warlock armor but it's pretty much all just futuristic trench coats with some tattering at most. The ingame writing is ass too
