How do I push myself guys? How do I force myself to finish shit instead of just putting it to the side
Have huge backlog
You grew up. Accept it and find a new hobby. You escaped.
Same here OP. I havent finished a game in years. They just get boring after a while.
When i was younger I'd play for 6 hours a day and would never get bored. I could play the same game for a month if I didn't beat it in a couple days.
Now its like 40 minutes in, this sucks. Never touch it again lol
I only play games that truly interest me. If I pick up some random shit I can't play it for long, but something like monster hunter or persona 5 has me sitting there for hours to end. You may just have become more selective.
You have depression.
Accept that the games you want to finish might actually be kinda shit.
you don't force yourself. you either play something and like it or you don't. if you don't shelve it and move on until you find something that clicks
or just fuck your backlog and play some mmo or gaas that you can play forever
>or just fuck your backlog
this is true too. forcing yourself to go through a backlog is fruitless. Just play what you feel like playing, maybe keep the backlog in mind until one day you actually feel like playing one of the games in it.
I just play whatever I want even if it's something I've played 100's of times and eventually I'll want to play something from my backlog of 500+ games
Just starting a game is so difficult
...
Explain, because this happens to me as well.
Maybe you're depressed
People who are depressed or have depression generally lack interest in most things in life i.e watching TV, playing games, working out, eating, showering or cleaning, going out, etc
The one thing you'll usually wanna do is sleep all the time and you feel emptiness
>be neet
>dont have a backlog, only play games I like and dont force myself to play shit I dont
i'm finishing blasphemous up and then just waiting for outer worlds. theres only been like 5 games worth playing this year.
I dont get people who have huge backlogs, do you really play that many genres of games?
Idk
Meow
take a break from video games and stop masturbating for 2 days. Honestly try it.
Honestly, found that getting a job after being laid off actually helped.
When I was working full time 50+ a week I just had no interest, but when the company down sized i also had no interest.
Month and a half after got a part time 20+ a week and suddenly my interest returned. I was working enough that i wanted R&R but not so much that I was just tired
Getting a GF also helped, but more in just alleviating general stress as opposed to work stress
I don't like finishing games after I beat them. I play the fun parts and stop when it gets to boring ones. Gotta play it all the way through at least once though to find the good stuff. That is my motivation.
Fuck.
Thanks for explaining.
