Castle Hype Beast: Barpartheid
i don't like gay anime music but clip ons are the best headphones
Clip ons are fucking garbage. They hurt the ear cartilage after long use.
sounds comfy lad
could fall asleep to that, cyoar
man we got the same device
works on my ears and are better than ear wax dredges/ear infection simulators aka iems and closed headphones which also heat up your ear wax.
What player is it?
If you google "sony mp3 player" its right there nigga
...
There's not much you can do with ear wax, even if you clean your ears daily. Also clip ons press the speaker to your ear so it hurts the inner cartilage too. You can't fucking win with those things.
I just use the earphones that came with my phone. They're better than any of the headphones I've tried.
Pic reated: It's you going out in public using those
Good shit. The audio quality is just too damn good.
Oh, boy! I can't wait to give less than two shits about what other people think!

I need an MP3 player but haven't bought one since like 10 years ago. Are those cheap chinese ones that are all over Amazon decent? All the ones people seem to reccomend on the Internet are like $150+, and as a Canadacuck, these prices are even higher
Why don't people use dedicated music players anymore?, those were the comfiest gadgets to have around, i have pic related and the audio quality it has surpass even my samsung galaxy phone despide it being so old.
I luv me sum 2hu musics
Because phones. People don't want to carry two things around.
And dedicated music players have better digital to analog converters etc that were made to sound good rather than to be cheap or to be small, something that phones prioritize.
I can listen to this shit all day long, user.

True.
Dont worry bro they are still selling tho-
>checks amazon
>$249
>Discontinued
WTF!?
Got you, bruh
Better hop on it quick if you really want one.
>dig out my old ipod touch
>only holds 8gb
Yeah, really glad I fell for the flac meme
How are these Sony compared to Fiio when it comes to playing file formats like types of FLAC, opus, 24-bit WAV/FLAC etc. and basically anything that isn't straight mp3? I mean anything is better than apple crap but I'm wondering if these are worth the premium over the more budget Fiio offerings.

pls send help
But people do? Phones are crap for music, music players have better/longer battery life and you can control playback while it's in your pocket by pressing through your jeans/whatever while you're on the move. Memory cards are so cheap now you can bring 128+ gigs with you anywhere at lossless quality and not suffer the limitations (such as not even 1% of available music) and indignities (buffering or network issues right when you need music the most) of crap like Spotify and whatnot.
I wish I wasn't a poorfag and could afford this
Man I loved my old Sansa clip, GOAT sound quality, storage and practical use for next to no money, shame the new models aren't as good.
Not a lot of people though... I've honestly only seen two people these past few years with an actual MP3 player. Most people just like having everything on their phone, and most people don't want to go through the hassle of buying a CD, ripping it on a computer, and putting it on the MP3 player. It's much more practical to just stream, but the quality of audio is such shit in comparison.
Tfw MP3 players are still fucking pricey in 2019 unless you want to buy non-functional Chinese bootlegs that flood the market.
I miss the days when MP3 players were popular so companies actually competed with eachother but releasing quality products at competitive prices. Now, you either pay 200-300 bucks or you get a piece of shit
Nice
those were honestly pretty decent headphones.
Audiotechnica is great.
Get a Sansa clip, the new ones aren't as good as the original but the sound quality and battery life is still miles ahead of crApple.

Damn, how's the game right now? Is it still being supported?
To my he-4xx alongside a quad dac capable smartphone. Best sound quality I've ever experienced and I didn't have to break the bank.

I need more symphonic/power metal recommendations, it's hard to find good ones that aren't already well known.
Main complaint is it's pretty warpy compared to QL, but I heard that's because it has no "lag compensation" or something... A&D is CA except 10 times better, since it's not just a matter of one team having the superior starting position. Only started playing it today though so I'm not the best to comment on QC, but it's absolutely silly trying to play any other form of Quake other than QC A&D in my opinion, as there being an objective to fight around just makes the game a completely different experience.

What I am now listening to, having spent 17 minutes in queue.
Granted people barely buy CDs anymore, but I thought most people (who still buy music) buy lossless (or even HD/24-bit) now instead or is that just me?
Also Amazon's Autorip feature which gives you mp3 (/flac?) download when buying a CD doesn't work for EU customers like me for some reason but it should work for US no?

some of you might know this animator, he just released a new video

>crap like Spotify and whatnot.
This, i remember people getting exited on social media because tool was available recently on Spotify. I was like, nigga have you heard of FLAC or mp3??? most phones play those.

Still weird how I found this on accident.
Not just you, it's kinda becoming more of a niche thing here in the states. but if there's two of us then there's way more out there. The whole practicality of phones and laptops kinda killed people going out to buy quality equipment.
I've got my Walkman for the go, my turntable, graphic equalizer, and stereo system for when I'm at home. I used to just roll with an iPhone, but it's just bullshit to have such mediocre quality in their products.

lol yuri is gay
The 100$ Fiio is hardly a piece of shit, or a Sansa clip if you're on a budget. You're right there's no longer much competition but neither of those are pieces of shit by any means and no one in their right mind spends 300$ for something you'll likely have replaced in 5-8 years and/or might break somehow before then.
Who else just likes mp3 players? They're all bricks that do one thing with hard edges and buttons and I love it.
I don't understand, it costs nothing to store 2TB+ of all your favorite music, carry 128GB+ with you at all times, you can turn everything into lossless with zero effort and EAC can rip something in like a minute if it even needs to be ripped at all, most everything can be downloaded, and yet people opt to be entirely reliant on fucking shitty Facebook streaming for their music catalogue (in addition to their social interactions, newsfeeds, fake news and soon currency probably) so that in the end, artists don't even get paid anyway and they'd be better off pirating and purchasing at a later date and everybody loses except for Zuckerberg and Apple. Ah well, fuck this gay earth.
Spotify premium's bitrate goes as high as 320kbit/s, which is high enough for audio engineers to have trouble distinguishing against lossless audio when played on studio gear. There's a difference but for sure you won't hear it 'on the go'.
>Memory cards are so cheap now you can bring 128+ gigs with you anywhere at lossless quality and not suffer the limitations (such as not even 1% of available music) and indignities (buffering or network issues right when you need music the most) of crap like Spotify and whatnot.
most phones support memory cards and you can download from spotify as you please- from 35million tracks- which of course you can interchange with whatever you manually put in your phone's memory should it not suffice
I think you are all just trying to put blame for your hardships when in reality it is your unwillingness to adapt to a better system is causing your woes.
God damn imagine destroying the top for some shitty wall.
nothing beats the convenience of looking up a song and listening to it five seconds later, and managing a sizable music collection takes a decent amount of learning and effort. I'm only on the FLAC train myself because of autism and tastes in japanese music that Spotify tends to region lock or not carry at all.
All earphones and headphones are bad for you from a scientific perspective. They are not meant to be enclosed.
If they get wet or prolong moisture, swimmers ear,
strong enough vibrations, some form of swimmers ear and damage to your ear drums
strong enough volume, damage to your eardrums
enclosed space = build up of ear wax that can weaken your hearing to even damage it
our ears shit sensitive.
vocaloid garbage, mostly
woah powerful...
>worse quality, not lossless, limited catalogue, more prone to failure = better system
I hate that Audio Technica doesn't make high quality clip-ons anymore. I have 2 pairs of ATH-EM7s and 1 pair of ATH-EW9s but they are so old that the foam padding has disintegrated.
Sansa Clip+ with Rockbox firmware.
Best option.
how good is this? I keep seeing it as high definition audio but it looks like cheap chink shit. I just spent about 300$ on some headphones and 100$+ on a DAC I don't want to spend 300$+ on a shitty Sony walkman
sansa clips are discontinued though. Unless you mean the newer Sandisk Clip/sport go
who else /MD/ here?
>tfw SonicStage crashes 3x trying to write 1 minidisc
I wish I had an excuse to use my Zune HD more often.
>manual cataloguing, local storage, wasted audio bandwith, lack of utility, minuscule catalogue, no recommendation system, having to carry one extra device = better system
>nothing beats the convenience
Except it does, when Spotify doesn't have a significant catalogue anyway. >learning and effort
You don't have to manage much of anything, just buy or download what you like and copy it to your device. Something like EAC does all of the work of ripping to lossless compressed FLAC if you want it to, and basic folder management is easy as pie. Sorry but this is something I'll never understand.
I got it for 70$ new and for that its pretty decent
wouldn't pay more than 100 bucks for it though since the firmware is kinda shitty and as far as I know there is no alternative like rockbox
can you make multiple playlists and organize stuff with folders? if yes I'm definitely buying one next paycheck
>spotify
That was my first MP3 player when I was 13 years old. I remember my mom being mad at my dad for spending almost $300 to buy it for me.
>local storage = better system
Yes.
>youtube.
Based dad
whats this and whats so special about it?
Where do I get video game soundtracks in good quality?
>having to carry one extra device = better system
That's the only "drawback" that's not outright bait, except it's not when it's the size of a matchbox and has infinitely better battery capacity. Spotify's catalogue is less than 1% of available music and getting worse by the year with licensing issues and region-lock hijinx. Enjoy "losing" all your music when Facebook goes belly up, hope they'll at least allow users to export their favorite track and album titles to a text file or something.
just a music player.

And worse SNR than any decent music player because phones aren't purpose-built for music.
Any one?
Their firmware are universally shit. It's a UX nightmare. Better ones carry a premium price tag or are bulky. Since my Creative Zen, Samsung P3, and Clip Zip died, I just went with my phone. Don't die on me.

I saw a kid in high school using one with the remote with the LCD display on it, I thought it was the most futuristic shit. I couldn't afford one, and wouldn't get a MD player until a few years ago when I found one at a thrift store for $3. It still feels futuristic to have a tiny CD that holds a lot of music, kind of like how it feels to use a PSP's UMDs.
I listen to old radio broadcasts from the 90s taped by Gen X'ers who had nothing better to do.
I got this from playing the GTA games so much that I eventually got sick of the in-game radio stations and searched for something to replace them with.
I think the tape hiss and FM compression is giving me fucking tinnitus though.
what's the difference between a dedicated mp3 player like in OP, and a flagship phone from the last 3 years?
