So what is the end game for him? He gets power, beats his brother, then what? He has nothing else to live for. No friends, no family, and no GF. Just a sad man with power.

This is why DMC5 is such a piece of shit. The story could have been written by a 4 years old kid.
He wanted Dante back stupid. And he gained a retarded son too.
Didn't know 5's story could filter out so many brainlets.
He'd probably just go bang some more prostitutes in back alleys
He wanted to rule the world. All he got is getting his ass kicked, "reuniting" with V like he was before, and finding out that Nero is his son (wow, what a twist!).
why was the other thread deleted anyways?
>retarded son
>wanted to rule the world
Hope you're kidding.
He wanted to die in battle with his brother.
When nero tells him that hes not going to let even him die, you can see how upset virgil is. I think deep down all he had left was fighting with dante, it's the only thing that brought him joy. So I think in a way he really wanted things to end
Probably would start erecting towers for shit and giggles
>He wanted to rule the world.
Vergil has never said he wants to rule the world. Even Urizen said nothing about ruling. He just wants to be powerful. He doesn't care about ruling.
He uses the power to reverse his balding
Like Father like son.
Reminder that Vergil's actions caused the deaths of millions of people
what about more power
4 years old are smarter than the brainlets who play this game.
and?
Was wondering the same
I don't know man. He still has that voice.
So did Sparda, Dante and Trish's actions. That family is not above sacrificing NPCs for the greater good.
Prior to 5 it was to surpass Sparda and continue his legacy. In 5 he wants to defeat Dante.
>tfw he actually had a good motivation to gain power so he never felt powerless again. Instead they retconned it to the more vapid "I need to beat my bro" motivation.
Yeah that's one of the things that makes me dislike 5's story.
Bayonetta > DMC series
More like Bayonetta =/= DMC series
It's like they didn't know why people liked Vergil to begin with, and hated Vorgil. In my headcanon I'm just saying that during his time in hell he lost track of why he wanted power in the first place. The last thing he remembers as Nelo Angelo was being told to defeat Dante.
Prediction: Vergil is going to be the one to cry at the end of the next game
>entire game is spent repairing the brothers' relationship
>Something happens to Dante, he dies or seals himself away somehow
>Vergil sheds a tear
>Nero asks if he's crying
>"No. It's only the rain."
Would it be kino?
You got that backwards
Nothing about that changes though. 3 he still wants power because he felt helpless, its only after getting beat by dante as nelo and getting petty about revenge in 5 is where he started to hate dante.
>Next game with Dante's absence a powerful demon is taking over again
>Nero finds a way to hell to bring Dante and Vergil back
>They need to seal away the demon to keep it from over taking the world which could result in somebody being trapped with it
>Dante forces Vergil to go back to the human world after deciding he has more to live for
>Vergil has a son who's starting a new family and never got a chance to actually live a life
>Tells him to go give humanity a try for a bit
>dante getting trapped
Just like the dante will die fags that ain't going to happen.
>The last thing he remembers as Nelo Angelo was being told to defeat Dante.
I like this idea. It's generally understood that split himself to fight Dante purely out of being a bitter loser, or last request kind of deal, but what if that was actually Mundus aids telling him to kill Dante whatever means necessary?
We don't really know how badly mindbroken he was when he did it, just that he was seething. It would also kind of explain why neither V nor Urizen actively try to hunt him down considering that it was the only reason they were 'born'
>got his brother back
>is returning to his son, left Nero his book which is Vergil's equivalent of a hug/saying he loves you
>has regained his humanity and wants to repent for his actions (V's words)
>can make sure Dante can keep flushing his toilet
DMC5 existed to not only bring Vergil back but to turn him from antagonist to protagonist (as he went as far as he could go as an antagonist) which is an excellent move as it opens up DMC a little more.
tldr: shits only just begun.
Its a good thing none of you faggots work at Capcom.
This is why the series needs to be rebooted with someone who has an actual idea of what they want to do with the DMC franchise rather than “muh evil tower” bullshit and actually use dante rather than make nero the focus, he is shit.
>rather than make nero the focus, he is shit.
lol no
The Mundus thing doesn't work because we found out in the manga he remembers being defeated by Dante and that's why he's so anal about defeating Dante when he comes back together. The only thing that got stuck in Vergil's head was Mundus telling him his humanity being a weakness and that led to him splitting himself to get more power.
So you telling me you want someone other than dante to be the focus of dmc? Fuck off nero fag
user, lets be honest, Nero sucks. He's an angrier version of Dante, but half as cool.
Yes
The series doesn't need a reboot. Just keep the same timeline, but maybe try another writer. Somebody who knows the series. Let Itsuno focus on projects he cares about and just let a new writer and producer try.
why did the last thread get deleted
Give him time. He'll probably relapse next game and steal his brothers sword.
Not even a Nerofag user I'm just not against the series branching out a bit so when a game does return to Dante as the focus it will be quite special. Stagnation only kills a series after all.
Let's be honest, he doesn't. Aside from having excellent gameplay he's a non-autistic character who actually gives a fuck about things happening around him. He's a far more human character than Dante or Vergil so it's nice to have that inbetween Dante being too cool for school.
No
Dante is an old nigga now. I assume he doesn’t have many demon years left so might as wel give us cuhrazy young dante back in a reboot with a better story
Probably got reported for spam
We already seen almost every aspect of Dante in the games. I think is time for Nero to have a proper solo gamewith some devil arms for fucksakes, and Dante/Vergil has a dlc or even as a side-game
>he wants donte
He already believed that in 3 without Mundus having to tell him
So we can just get the same story told again? They should just continue the story. Dante was the main Protagonist in 3 games, and Nero is going on his 3rd game. They could bring in a new protagonist. Or just take turns with different leads like RE does. Dante is also not that old. Him and Vergil are in their early 40s. There's action stars still doing their own stunts older than that. He's a fucking demon and Vergil just got restored.
>They should just continue the story. Dante was the main Protagonist in 3 games, and Nero is going on his 3rd game. They could bring in a new protagonist.
They just did, his name is Vergil.
It was spam and full of shitposters.
Vergil will always be Capcom's special edition whore.
unga
>reboot with a better story
A reboot is not what the series needs.
>a new writer
>change up main protagonists with new and existing characters
>bring in some characters that aren't blood related to the main cast
>put more effort into the enviroments
>Nero
>non-autistic
kek
Also his character is just a poor rehash of DMC1 Dante, while they made the actual Dante a parody of himself in order to prop up the new star.
Yeah I know, Mundus just reinforced the idea of it to a broken down Vergil. The manga even shows us a flashback to Vergil saying it and Mundus telling him after their fight.
triggers vergil
Give reboot dante new characters or reinterpret the side characters we already have while giving this new world different lore
Donte wasnt cuhrazy, however I did wish we got to see that mentally ill dante that was teased but never got
>Nero
>More human
He's just a hotheaded Dante who copies Dante's way of bantering with enemies and has way less charisma and charm.
Dante appealed to people in 1 game, Nero needed 2 games and a shitty Reboot to make him not look so bad.
>Nero needs a solo game with Dante as DLC
>Dante
>DLC
Yep, the DMC fanbase have no idea what they want. These dumbass Nerofags want the IP to die again. Imagine turning Ryu and Ken into DLC characters in SF?
They aren't going to reboot the god damn game, user. Nobody wants a reboot.
They weren't important anyway
He used the sword on himself as a last ditch effort to live. His goal was accomplished as soon as he was reborn.
I thought the cheesy writing was part of the fun of DMC. Why do gamers these days think games have to have these deep stories? The story is simple and cheesy, but it has a nice underlying message about family. It works just fine and the story is fun. Even our memes are fun and cheesy. Games should be fun.
>imagine Trish getting pinned against a gray wall, that's the same color of her fucking boring bitch-ass character who imperonates moms becuase she's literally an unholy wretch with no dignity whatsoever, while at the same time the demon-whore who suckled Mundus' big red tri-balls and had so much piss-stained demon cum splurged all over her hair, it got dyed blond, is being fisted with pizza up her matrix-2000 black fetish pants ripped apart, so hard the term yeast infection gets a new meaning, and with her last whoreish, skanky, breaths she coughs up the crusty, hell-cum out her ps2-octagon mouth, leaving her dark soul unfilled, yet her ass stuffed to the brim

that pic makes him look like james franco
have you ever seen those dogs that run after cars? try stopping your car one day and see his reaction
idk what Bingo was smoking when he wrote 5 but despite some great lines and banter the actual plot and themes are fanfic-tier
>gamers these days think games have to have these deep stories
I think that's the issue there. Games used to be played for fun, but some companies have made these movie games that normies are eating up. I wont name names but there are some games that put so much effort into the story that they forget the game should be fun. If that's what you want you have plenty of options for that. Let games like DMC be fun and crazy B-movie tier writing instead of trying to turn into the 2deep4u game. We all know how that turned out when DmC took itself too seriously. It was a joke.
Now give him a dress
I don't know. He is so sexy and dreamy :)
Well Itsuno made the gameplay and characters before considering when the story would be. He also probably decided he wanted Vergil back and told Bingo to revolve the story around that. It was a result of trying to fit Vergil and the new weird summoner character into the story.
pic related
it really is bad, feels unfinished too.
like malphas. what the fuck was that plotline?
Bingo is a hack. The only decent story he wrote was way back in DMC3 a 2005 game. And he needed a shit ton of input from other devs.
>they could have just not put in the Eva flashback and just had Dante and Vergil duke it out like always without changing his motivation to something boring
I'm convinced the flashback was only made for the trailer
I miss speculating what the story was going to be
I noticed V kept talking about Nero being able to do something with Sparda too that was forgotten about. The part where he couldn't pick up Sparda but then said "What about the boy..." or something.
Then once he meets Dante, he calls Nero useless. It's like there was something bigger planned with Sparda and Malphas, for some reason I bet Nero was supposed to get his DT from Sparda somehow.
basically to be the annoying twin. that's about it, i'm sure everything between dante and him will be completely forgiven within 3 minutes on his deathbed in the next game.
DMC6 ends with Vergil sacrificing himself to atone for his actions. Yes or no?
DMC5 lacks exactly what that video shows. Characters cuss, they look gruff and beaten down, majority of bosses lack the cheesy banter, dialogue tries to be smart and cool but comes out as flat, the crazy cutscenes are considerably lacking as well. Compare DMC3 Dante in the vid to DMC5 Dante who straight up says "Whatever I don't really care". Vergil looks very unmotivated too, it feels like he's lost all will to live and is doing whatever capcom is telling him so he can eat for another day. The game lacks charm of its predecessors and instead gives of a feeling of an american super hero movie, which is precisely what itsuno wanted with his avengers comparison.
In fact 5 actually does tries to have a deep story but it executes it incredibly poorly.
would be too bold of a choice and they spent 4 years of dev time working on a story contrived enough to bring him back and make him a not-bad guy
I get that Itsuno wanted 5 to pander to fans hard but I would have rathered a new antagonist than Vergil. And the father/son reveal, I mean did they assume people didn't figure it out after 11 years?
Tangent but having Nero as the main character (which is fine) feels weird because you're also constantly switching to Dante and V. Dante kinda makes sense but V shouldn't be in the game. His reveal as the villain is also stupid. And 5 is super action focused all the time presumably so replays double down on the combat which is the meat of the experience but I miss the atmospheric stages with puzzles and slower gameplay to break it up. I feel that they could have found some kind of compromise the way 4 largely did. And of course there's what has been said before about the repetitive environments.
In the same way that Kamiya passing the franchise off to Itsuno was probably good for its continued innovation, I kind of want Itsuno to pass DMC off to a younger staff member while he does DD2, if only so we can move on from the Sparda stuff into new territory, and not wait another ten years for a title since DD2 won't be coming out any time soon. Ideally Capcom can develop both DD2 and DMC6 at the same time. Make it a new adventure starring Nero and maybe a new character, keep some shoutouts to older games and once you beat it, you can play as Dante, the same way it was handled with Viewtiful Joe on PS2.
V probably thought Nero could use Sparda to defeat Urizen.
He actually said that the story is is built around the moment Nero puts himself between Dante and Vergil rushing at each other and that they figured the rest of the story from there.
that would be out of character lol
The father/son reveal is dramatic irony.
What if the antagonist for 6 was a character who was once known to have woken up to justice? A character who feels that the millions that died need to be atoned for.
I think the game was actually missing some autism. It's hard to explain. But things like Vergil's hair falling down mid battle. Catching and lining up bullets with Yamato and flinging them back in a cutscene. Lady explaining daddy issues to Dante while matrix shooting each other. That sort of shit. It's still a good game but It felt like something was missing.
It's built on many things like taking away Nero's arm for the db, bringing Vergil back, giving Nero his moment to shine
There was one pre-release theory that Vergil would teleport in right after Urizen was defeated to steal the fruit and power up and I think that would have been a better than what we got.
V should've been his own character. He should've just been a summoner that went to Dante for help. Urizen should've been Vergil gone rogue still mind broken and corrupted. V ends up being a fanatic of the Sparda's and knows a lot about them. Turns out V was the one who summoned him back to begin with not realizing how far gone he was. Nero ends up trying to save him because V tells him theres a way to break the corruption. This could fix many issues:
>a lot of people liked V as a character
>it exempts Vergil from what he did as Urizen and set him up for a better redemption arc
>V not being a one shot character they probably would've put more effort into his gameplay
>maybe they would've added more summons for him
>Dante would've had a better reason to give Vergil another chance
at this point I'd kind of prefer for the next game (since it will 100% be Dante, Nero and Vergil) to just have separate campaigns
no more flashbacks/time rewinds to show what another person saw and how they got there. Just 1 story told through the eyes of 3 characters with unique lore bits, enemies, and locations in each one
I feel Nero getting his own game and Dante+Vergil getting theirs would be the dream scenario for me. DMC6 parts 1 and 2. Failing that, DMC6 has like 35 missions with about 10 missions for each of them to really shine.
>caring about the story of a dmc game
lmao standard retards, next you are gonna tell me the story matters in kirby
It was kind of weird they built up this character that made the combat a lot more fresh with a whole new moveset, and now he'll probably be replaced with Virgil in 6 for stuff that feels like more of the same, but different.
Yeah that whole theory revolved around when people thought there was an actual competition for the fruit. Probably would've made a better story. How did Vergil end up being the main dude on the throne? They could've had Vergil "help" them defeat Urizen only to take the fruit for himself. The last 10 missions revolve around Nero and Dante tracking down Vergil cause they're pissed. Could also fit in 's V summoned him theory where he was trying to use Vergil to get the fruit as well. Except Urizen is a separate character himself. He's the last recipient of the demon fruit.
>still cryin' about V being Vergil
V or his familiars wouldn't have existed if he wasn't half of him.
Reminding us that Vergil is based?
Thank you based Vergil.
Mad vfagets still upset their ugly twink is gone.
>"NOOOOOOO PLEASE DON'T KILL MY DEADBEAT DAD WHO RIPPED OFF MY ARM AND FUCKED OVER THE WORLD TWICE"

>Medicore gameplay that is decent at best
6/10 game
That sounds like it would have been good, you could have had the first have split between missions where you could choose between Nero & V and ones with Dante & Vergil. Plus Vergil could be redeemed without that whole mass murder thing.
Hi Barry
That's what I though the story would go for pretty much. Urizen is some kind of an eldritch entity that takes care of world laws and since hell was without a ruler for a long time, it needs a new one to keep the balance. Then a battle royale ensues between all the demons to see who's worthy. Hell maybe even bringing back all the defeated ones from previous games. This would also go well with why Sparda only sealed the hell portals instead of killing the demons.
Where Vergil would come in is that, while being in hell, he gained some knowledge that allows him to meddle in Urizen's plans and attain more power. V would be somehow connected with Mundus as a part of his schemes to win back his title back, but would turn on him in the like how Trish did. I really thought we would be getting a grand finale of DMC, but in the end we got "prease rike Nero, rook we even brought Bajiru back!"
>I'LL KILL THAT ASSHOLE
>Nero that guy who killed everyone and ripped off your arm is the deadbeat dad you never knew
>I'M NOT LETTING HIM DIE
Who? The characters in these games are so one note or straight up annoying so i don't care to remember all their names
>He thought Nero was going to kill Vergil
The whole point was to bring Vergil back lmao
After his mother's death Vergil was so traumatized all he could think about was growing strong, to be powerful enough to never allow such a thing to happen to him again, and to take revenge. He'd never allow himself to be that powerless again.
After being bested by his brother, his nemesis and turned into a pawn for it he was so shaken he's stuck on a loop of wanting power at any cost.
Hi Barry
>Bpbbpffergil
Not gonna look up who that is sorry honey
God I'm glad they picked Adam Cowie as Dante's face model.
Don't play dumb.
Hi Barry
fantastic taste
These writers are such hacks they felt the need to rip off Iago from alladin for whatever reason
>didn't read his post
Hello faggot that always derail threads with your seething unnecessary hatred of V and his fags
Adam Cowie for Dante and Karlo Baker for Nero were some fucking great choices honestly.
>implying
Itsuno clearly wants to move on to Nero, he's merely held back by the fan outcry if he actually went through with it.
Really wish I didn't read that as brapgil
Why does Nero wear lipstick?
Months later I'm still mad Vergil doesn't look identical, Itsuno you hack
Itsuno is retiring. He will make maybe 1 more DMC game at the most and hand the reigns over.
Griffon was the best new character
You retard. This was always the end game since 3. He has a power complex because he wasn't able to protect their mother. The only difference in 5 is that they made it into an inferiority complex that reeked of DmC Vorgil.

Doesn't matter what you thought 5 was always 100 percent going to be about Vergil coming back in some way and focused on Vergil's and Nero's character development. 3 was Dante's development and now 5 was Vergil's and Nero's.
He should do it but then again I felt like 5 was Itsuno's finale. He did say that DMC5 and DD2 are games he'd like to do before he gets too old. Maybe he means in the sense of not having to put up with a demanding development which action games probably require.
I'd already disregarded that shit opinion before I posted, but thanks anyway.
he's the keroberos of 5

He looks really weird with Adam Cowie's facial features when modded in. But I still think Vergil looks weird ingame even though his face model is fucking godlike in real life.
I always thought Patrick Bateman could've worked as Vergil's face model to resemble Dante in some way too.
How does Vergil have a son who’s only seemingly 10 years or so younger than him? Is it some demon shenanigans where they age slowly or something?
I didn't play DmC, did he seethe hard at Donte about recessive angel genes or something? Also how do you not develop an inferiority complex when your rival kills you TWICE
There's nothing to rip off he just has the very generic personality of animal sidekick. See There's a reason you almost never see animal sidekicks that are shy.
Hi Barry.
>muh V should have been a different character
Unlike you I can read
What is it about DmC that attracts so many fujos? Back when I used twitter I had to tread carefully when searching for any DMC content or else I'd be swimming in a sea of Donte porn. How?
It can't possibly be unironic. Donte and Vorgil look like fucking frogs.
>brapgil
He had em young, Nero is 24 while Vergil is in his 40's.
He was a teen dad
hi barry
Damn it I think I just realized something. Dante calling Nero dead-weight is Itsuno's attempt to address how fans didn't like Nero and considered him unnecessary. In that scene Dante represents the fans, as he's the fan favorite and the franchise revolves around him.
DMC5 is literally Itsuno's attempt to prove to fans that Nero isn't deadweight. BRAVO ITSUNO SAN
they need to maek a rez evil game with static backgrounds and a bazillion facial polygons on like 3-5 characters onscreen at once
SUCK ON THESE!
Am I the only one who think that Dante's voice doesnt suit him
sure its fine in 3 but in fourth and fifth he just sound too young
Easily the worst game ever made in the franchise history, and honestly probably one of the worst action games of all time.
Naw he's a pretty shitty rip off of Iago with the only difference being they didn't even try because most dmcfags have pretty low standards
Gays have terrible taste.
I think he fucked the succubus lady in red at 17 years old.
Shut the fuck up.
>and focused on Vergil's and Nero's character development.
Yet somehow completely butchered Vergil's character. Good game.
Greetings Barry
Fuck outta here and go to already jesus fuck.
Dante look horrible with his face modded too. Anyways both their faces are obviously tweaked and not just pure scans, so I refuse to believe they wouldn't be able to make Cowie's face work for Vergil
>no alt costumes
RE Engine only accepts real clothes, please understand.
Fucking retarded tumblerina's I swear. V was a fucking mistake with all the stupid tumblr fags that it attracted.
I like to imagine that Vergil in DMC 3 had a hidden motive, and wanted more power so that he could save a romantic interest that was far beyond saving. Then from there things just get out of control.
His voice is fitting but it's really breathy
>Nero is Raiden
I knew it
I agree.
However we are too attached to Reuben at this point. Any other voice actor, even if objectively better, wouldn't be enough, you know?
>Caring about the development and story of characters who can only formulate sentences with MCU quips because teehee so quirky
Nero is only in his early 20s in DMC5 and Vergil is in his early 40s. Vergil was only about 17-18 when Nero was born. Vergil only looks young because of the demon fruit and he doesn't eat pizza and sundaes everyday like Dante.
Something I can't unhear anymore is how many times Reuben sighs when voice acting old Dante.
Dante looks fairly young when you shave his beard from what I've seen.
It didn't brainlet.
That's the point. To show case that. He's basically Darth Vader. All that's left is suffering
Dante has to cope somehow with the fact his brother got laid before he did.
Konnichiwa Beri-san
I'm not saying Reuben is bad or unfitting but the sighing and the exhaling after every sentence are like nails on a chalkboard to me
Hi Barry
Ironically DMC2 Dante actually had the best voice. I'm okay with Reuben, but his "noticeably exhale after every sentence" isn't helping him.
>No argument
I win!
>can't respond properly so it calls me Barry
Ok fujo.
You're fixating on a single line in a special edition and forgetting there's a whole game about Vergil losing the heir of Sparda race to Dante.
>All that's left is suffering
>implying Vergil didn't suffer
Is this guy the same guy that says MGSV is gonna get an update/Demon Edition and that Silent Hills is still in development?
Would be the most kind ending, as each brother gets what the other yearned for.
Dante despite trying so long to fit into the human world is forced to embrace his demonic side for the greater good and becoming a great demon warrior for humanity
Virgil, despite wanting more power and constantly trying to embrace his demon side to carry on his father's legacy finds himself welcomed with open arms in the human world with a family of his own to fight for and protect.
Each one carries out both sides of their father's legacy but not the one they originally wanted to.
Pure vidya kino
>characters need to remain empty and shallow like my brain
The prequel novel version of Vergil getting fucked up by Mundus was better imo
>Dante has to cope somehow with the fact his brother got laid before he did.
He can cope because it wasn't Vergil's choice. Fortuna showed him a good time, got him drunk and she took advantage of a drunken teenage Vergil.
At least you're being honest with yourself lmao. The moment a DMC character actually says a normal sentence dmcfags think its deep and intellectual writing
Look user I know character motivations can change, but for Vergil it changed for the worse.
DmC Vorgil thought their mother loved Donte more, Kat loved Donte more and that Donte was better at fighting. This is so fucking shitty that they adapted it for DMC5 Vergil.
When you put it like that, it can only put a smile on my face.
Imagine Grandpa Vergil trying to be edgy around grandkids and failing
Before the nightmare?
>all these people complaining about the fact that 5 wasn't just a repeat of 3s story
Fucking nostalgiafags I swear
Anything would have been better than the mess that is DMC 5's story

Tsk tsk nothing left to say? Oh well, I humbly accept your concession

Is the story too complex for you?
So go play a David Kage or Naughty Dog "game" if you want story.
>everything the character says is surface level
Was Vergil's motives in 3 too difficult for you too?
It's usually what happens when a character was plainly wrong. Vergil fucking lost, my man. It's time for him to take that L.
>yfw "Where is your heart?"
>"I no longer have one, mother."
Just look at this trainwreck youtube.com
DMC5 Vergil definitely took more from Vorgil than he should've.
Lmao I bet you were one of those people that was saying the last jedi was just too deep for star wars fans. Also sweetie you have to decide if you actually want to debate rather than stomping out the door and coming back in over and over
Right? During one of the games you can have Virgil berate Nero over family matters "you remembered Kyria's birthday is tomorrow?" Or "did you remember to take out the trash the trash before you left? Last time you didnt Kyria wouldnt talk to you for days" while they're busy killing demons
>he says that while 5's two last missions are a repeat of 3
If anything, I would've preferred if 5 didn't try to pander to 3 fans so much.
Vergil willing to duel his son over whose day it truly was to do the dishes.
My sides, this is a parody right
By the end of the game, he probably doesn't really have anything else to live for, so it's just, "Well shit, I guess I can fight to the death with Dante." He can find a new motivation in Hell.
>sweetie
Can't have a debate if all you're saying is >hurr durr character can't have any semblance of a personality
You may not like it, but this is peak DMC
Holy shit, Barry made four threads.
Take a guess
>They compare Vergil feeling lonely to this trainwreck
I knew you fags were being dramatic with the comparisons.
>then what?
What do all men with power want? More power.
Awww sorry sweetie did I hurt your feelings? Maybe this whole debating thing isn't up your alley
Where the fuck has all this DMC5 hate been coming from? Its been multiple threads on repeat for over a fucking week now.
Just like old times
>I no longer have one, mother
gets me every fucking time
I'm still waiting :)
You don't understand, Vergil must be an edgelord with anime motivations even as an 8 year old, otherwise the character is ruined. You shouldn't introduce any nuance or further characterizations, just "subtle" implications that don't confirm anything and make him seem cooler in my mind. It's not like this franchise is about human feelings and weaknesses.
I don't know who I admire more, the committed shitposter making daily threads or the anons arguing with him on the same points every time
Maybe you guys can't refute his points and thats why you need to repeat the same things
Maybe we've entered an endless recursion of time
This might sound dumb but I really hate how you can hit back Vergil's summoned sword so it pierces him. It makes him look stupid and makes little sense. He's controlling the swords with his damn mind, at best hitting them should simply destroy them.
I don't know why everyone's struggling with this, Vergil's motivations have been crystal clear the entire time
Well of course the comparison isn't direct. But Vergil's inferiority thing was obviously inspired by DmC among other things.
I don’t really think he had an endgame. The end goal for “power” is so vague on what would be good enough that I think it would probably be a never ending wild goose chase, if he even did get the “power” he was looking for he’d probably want more anyways and not stop there, Urizen and the apple being an example of what that would look like.
Vergil already felt inferior in 3 so it makes sense to continue from that no?
Vorgil isn't even similar to what Vergil went though. Vergil was only upset about not getting saved when Mundus attacked and at that moment thought Eva forgot about him and that's why he went through I need muh power so he wouldn't feel weak again. You also mentioned Vergil hating Dante was taken from DmC but that's not true either, he never hated Dante enough to kill him and only wanted to be proven stronger in 3 and in 5.
>dec 23
user knew about the spoiler
Now I'm bothered by this too, thanks.
I agree. At the beginning he felt inferior to Mundus, he beat Dante on the regular before 3 so his brother complex and seething only started when he got btfo and then killed. I don't know why this doesn't seem to be acknowledged.
I hate how they're more like summoned daggers now because they're reduced in size. They even sound underwhelming.
>Now I'm bothered by this too, thanks.
You can thank DmC for it
to the user who requested this last night, here's your delivery bro
twittercore but i had fun nonetheless
Wow, almost like Nero wants a family or something.
>twitterfag shit
Go back
good shit drawfriend
>Vergil already felt inferior in 3 so it makes sense to continue from that no?
Not at all, in fact he obviously felt and was, for the majority of the game, superior to Dante.
>Vergil was only upset about not getting saved when Mundus attacked and at that moment thought Eva forgot about him and that's why he went through I need muh power so he wouldn't feel weak again.
That's what DMC5 wants you to think. Prior to that it was simply because he lost his mother and felt powerless at that time. He wanted to be strong so he wouldn't loose anything again. As Vergil said "Without strength you cannot protect anything, let alone yourself".
The line where Dante tells Urizen how their mother "saved him and left Vergil behind" implies that was the reason why he was salty. Which honestly came out of nowhere and was never even implied before DMC5. Him being beaten by Dante only increased the salt, but did not seem to cause it, is what is implied. Which is also something that happened in DmC. The personality split is also something taken from Vorgin.
Sure you can justify it however you want. But developers undeniably took cues from DmC and that's the point here.
just got here.
based artfriend does it again.
Saving this.
Travel and vlog about food.
That's the fate I see for Vergil.
that's a very small V
>Not at all, in fact he obviously felt and was, for the majority of the game, superior to Dante.
Inferiority about feeling weak user not about Dante. His inferiority just grew after Dante kept beating him again when he was supposed to be the stronger brother. After getting his ass kicked as Nelo Angelo was I guess the final straw for him.
>The line where Dante tells Urizen how their mother "saved him and left Vergil behind" implies that was the reason why he was salty.
Yeah I understand they took the mother reason but Vorgils jealousy started way before Mundus attacked and Vergil started because she saved one twin and not the other. What's the personality split? Vorgil's doppelganger?
>But developers undeniably took cues from DmC and that's the point here.
I'm not saying they didn't but really itsuno did a better job of implementing it if they did. Compare Vorgils cringe to Vergil.
>What's the personality split?
In the DLC Vorgil constantly has conversations with an evil version of himself "Hollow Vorgil". In the end he fights him and absorbs him after saying he needs more power, which is how he gains his Super Saiyan mode.
>did a better job of implementing it if they did
Yeah I guess, but I would've preferred it if they didn't implement it at all.
I'm taking a wild guess in saying you don't like 5's story?
Unfortunately yes. I was very excited for 5 and was mighty let down by it. Not saying it's a bad game, but it failed to alleviate the series in a meaningful way for me.
cute mommy
Anyone got that "in the end even a devil may cry 3 special edition dante's awakening when he loses a loved one" image?
>tfw trying to s rank dmd
it's killing any enjoyment I have left of this game, you're literally forced to cheese in most dante missions because the style ranking is arbitrarily lowered, V is borderline unplayable on this difficulty as well and I enjoyed him on SoS
is there any point in keeping going?
What will be next is that he'll settle down and get married to me and father a another kid or 2. I love him!
Beating missions without diying makes the comboing easier and its probably less taxing than keeping your rank up in my opinion
>tfw when you realize Vergil was talking about this moment when he said him and Dante were even
>his cute nerdy voice when he said "where did you learn to count? We're even!"
Also if you count up their onscreen battles they really are even.
Why would spend time playing a game in a way that isn't fun for you, unless you are receiving compensation?
>dmc 6 will be a vergil game
I know they both have a large number of wins against each other across the series, I just realized the end scene in hell of Vergil blocking dantes sword strike and falling down was almost idenitcal to the one at the end of the Vergil boss battle, only the roles were switched.
>I know they both have a large number of wins against each other across the series,
I know, I was just adding that because I think it's an interesting detail.
I hope so.
Vergil's entire goal was to beat Dante and prove himself. He has an inferiority complex. So does Nero. The difference is that Vergil would deny that inferiority complex; for Nero, it's his entire motivation.
