I don’t hate him. I just think his games suck. Metal gear solid 1 was great for it’s time but it aged really poorly. Thief 1, unfortunately for Kojima, was a much better stealth game released a few months later. Thief’s mechanics are the ones emulated to this day in the genre. The rest of the metal gear solid franchise is mediocre at best. The engine for 5 was cool though. A shame he didn’t make a good game with it

It’s really story focused but it’s got an awful story. 1 was better than the bare bones stories we got from that generation. But it’s story is only okay at best. 2 was really autistic. Raven sucks. It’s hard for me to understand how anyone can enjoy it. 3 was incredibly autistic. The boss is a terrible character. 4 was the most autistic thing I have ever witnessed in video games. It was straight up awful. It hurts my soul even thinking about it. Mgsv decided not to tell a story outside of a few cutscenes. Which left the rest of the game to... the boring open world. I never wasted money on a psp so I don’t have an opinion on those spin off games. The one game I really enjoyed was ground zeroes. But That was because I got it for free. And I don’t consider that a full game by itself. And if I was reviewing it based on its original price tag I would have been very upset.

I hate V with a passion for ruining the ability to be hype for a future release, but holy fuck do I look back fondly at stuff like the Red Band trailer release. There's absolutely nothing wrong with using reality and current events and invariably politics in games when done properly (ie DX and MGS) it's just now the last decade people started to take issue with it when it's done wrong (admittedly lots of examples there). Granted politics ruins absolutely everything and anything and always has and always will (not just identity politics ie the ultimate divide and conquer psyop, but the regular sense of the word too) but as a wise man once said power doesn't just go away and probably never will, power usually involves politics, and there's no sense purposely avoiding it for the sake of pure escapism (unless that's what you're going for with your game) or even worse, avoiding it for fear of alienating part of your paying audience because they're purposely inflating their toes to be so big there's almost no possible way of not stepping on them.

Death stranding has players interconnected in the game where they modify the environment without manifesting physically, therefore it doesn't have any kind of direct matchmaking making it different than dark souls and I don't think any other games do this "strand" mechanic
