It was great when I had unlimited free time, but it's way less fun now. Still solid-ish, but I prefer the mainline games. 2 just wasn't fun at all, same with Joker. I actually enjoyed Caravan Heart and Joker 2, though.

I like monsters 1 and 2, but I think I still prefer the joker games.
Speaking of the joker games, DQMJ3 was one hell of a mixed bag for me. Lots of stuff to catch early on but the game is really easy, then the difficulty spikes the fuck up at the final area and in the final boss rush
And then for the postgame, the three gods were fine although I cheesed them using Iddo's skip, but then Snapped-whatever after you beat the three of them kicks my ass because he keeps on taking control away and I can't cheese or heal or do anything anymore since my monsters' AI seems to be braindead
And I've heard there was even more after that boss

Holy fuck this game was amazing as a kid. I remember going up to our cabin with my best friend and while we were on the ski lift we were trying to figure out how best to breed a Gem slime by mating our Metal slimes together. I want to go back.

Why? Why did they just throw away dozens of monsters? Not even just slimes but there are so many from various games and there's fucking nothing in DQXI. They end up with two sets of the same monsters, one with red eyes, the other with green. There are no storage limits so why can't they just add every fucking monster? I hope the next Monsters series game goes balls to the wall and includes everything from every DQ game.
