I'm about to buy a SSD but I can't decide
500GB or 1TB?

and why are we supposed to know what you need?
Why would you not get the larger one if you have the option?
1TB
I bought a 500gb to cheap out and filled it in a couple of days because games are gluttonous hogs that only want more space
there's no reason not to go big but the price so let your wallet be your guide
Get a M.2 NVME drive, SATA is old and busted.
because it costs more, what kind of brainlet good goy question is that?
and I uninstall games when I'm done playing them
if you dont want to get the 1TB because its expensive and you uninstall games anyways, why the fuck are you asking if you should buy one or the other?
clearly you already know the answer of what size you want to get.
youre fucking retarded.
>Get a M.2 NVME drive
I hear they overheat a lot
>SATA is old and busted.
explain, or you're a nonsense spouting retard
2TB for main games ssd
1TB for your small porn games, older games such as Doom and X-Com and shit ssd
500gb for downloads SSD, music, etc shit ssd
Samsung evo is good, sandisk ultra is good, western digital blue is good, get them on sale or buy looted shit after a hurricane.
I'm not OP, why would you assume I am? what a dumbass.
you don't have the time to rewire and move shit around your motherboard every 3 months to add you next 500gb ssd, just buy the bigger one be set for 2 years
1TB, how is this even a question?
I have a 970Pro and it runs just fine.
>comes to Yea Forums for tech advice rather than actually doing any research
high level autism, folks
the bigger the better. especially if you're putting the OS on it.
>NVME drive
they significantly lower red/write cycles. SSDs are the perfect middle ground for long lasting and speed.
It's like asking between i5 and i7? What even is that question.
because you don't need 1TB
OS only need a few GB you mong
and? every bit of room counts.
256gb NVME for your install
2tb SSD for games
several 4tb HDDs in a separate rack for storing movies and music
any other option is wrong
Too afraid of talking to a nigger to buy stolen goods, user? I guess if you spill your spaghetti talking to the fat gamestop slut, I hate to think what you'd say in front of a couple of laid back dudes who just wanna drink purple drank and help their community recover after a disaster.
>hurricane blows through
>friendly darkies plunder electronics stores because it helps the community
>friendly coons email me, say hey man we got chu sum shit u wanna come tak a luk
>sure homie
>drive out to the ghetto, blast DJ Screw to maintain appearances
>buy over two grand worth of recovered hardware for 800 bucks and a bottle of fancy gin
Only fools pay retail for hardware.
You don’t need to install games on ssd, it will only improve loading times by a fee seconds, who cares about that.
I have samsung 500 gb, have my os on it and all the programs + wow classic, still have 400 gb free
1TB. 500 gigs is not enough. My 1TB SSD is 1/3 full without any ultraheavy shit like GTA5 or Nu-Hitman installed.
and if you only need a few GB then you don't need a thousand GB, kind of self explanatory I think. maybe not for a retard though
My 1TB SSD dedicated to games is almost filled to the brim, i only have like 35 games installed, modern games are insanely huge.
1TB NVMe for games. 512GB SATA for your OS
>4tb HDDs
just move onto 8tb already they're cheap enough
>that guy who starts rambling about niggers for no reason
definitively autism
>i only have like 35 games installed
I'm sure you are actively playing all 35 and need to have them all installer, right? fucking idiot
>you don't need 1TB
Haha yeah you dont need it at all.
500gb is plenty i feel
it's nice to have an SSD for your OS and games like total war, but the load times in most games are nowhere near the level where investing in an SSD would be worthwhile over just buying a regular hard drive with infinitely more space.
2TB Intel 660p
this is what happened to me too
1TB, if you able to. How is this even a question
>but I don't need that much
Yeah and back then a 300 MB HDD was crazy big too
let me guess, you are also the type with random shit lying all over your room, because you never put away stuff you don't need?
>Yeah and back then a 300 MB HDD was crazy big too
what's your point, dummy?
This looks like pasta but I’ve never seen it before
>you don't need 1TB
My room looks like the one from that twitter post with some roastie bitching about an empty room.
Those are my most played games at the time yes.
i have very slow internet so keeping them installed is better than having to wait a day before i can play when i feel like it.
35 games out of 900 in my library is nothing, if i had the option to rebuild my pc now, i wouldn't go for any less than a 2TB SSD.
I just put in patch cable throughout my house, I am looking forward to getting rid of all these fucking externals laying around and putting in a rack.
>for no reason
user is clearly stating he buys electronics for cheap from African Americans that are mostly likely stolen/looted and only idiots pay retail. Which is true.
>thingsthatdidnthappen.txt
Not everyone on Yea Forums has to send in mommy to buy their games at Target fagg
tell me about it bro
got the 1tb one for my ps4 and fells great
ssds are cheap as fuck now no reason to not get a 1tb
back in my day my ssd was 120 dollars for 64gb
FUCK
250GB Samsung Evo for boot drive and a 1TB QLC drive for storage and game library
>bought another 1tb ssd just to install Black Ops 3
SOMEBODY STOP ME
This but unironically.
Getting testimonials is part of the research process. But it shouldn't be the only step.
When I was poor I bought a small SSD drive for just windows and the games that needed it and then had a 2TB HDD to dump everything else on.
If you are trying to save money, get the 500gb or even a 250gb drive and keep using your old drive for general storage.
>you can get 64gb usb sticks for 10 bucks now, less if you get chinkshit
youtube.com
NVMEME
I got 6 TB nigga, 3 m.2 2TB ssds running in raid 0
price between NVMe and mSATA have closed enough to justify the formfactor and speeds.
1TB. Most people aren't aware than SSD's slow down if they get too full. You need to keep like 25% of space free for maximum speeds and longevity.
why keep anime you already watched, why download it in the first place if you can just stream it, what a waste of electricity
>gays of war 5
>133gb
go for 1tb, bloats only gonna get worse.
not sure on the pricing, but get 2 500gb and run them in raid 0.
you'll regret the 500
Doesn't matter how much storage you buy. it will always end up full.
>why keep anime you already watched
I haven't watched the majority of it bro I'm just hoarding at this point but I do delete them after watching if I didn't like it while keeping the ones that are 6+/10 or hold nostalgic value.
>why download it in the first place if you can just stream it
I like downloading the high gb raw bloat rips for maximum quality.
>what a waste of electricity
na, it seems like a waste of money imo if I'm not maxing out my bandwidth especially the upload part 24/7.
i still use a 250gb hard drive, anyone else?
Only for my OS, and even then, I’m just gonna put into an external enclosure after I build a new PC.
Whats the point of SSD ? Some anons say its same as normal hdd
It's like the difference from floppy to DVD
Significantly faster than an HDD with lower power consumption and no moving parts. Modern ways are objectively better than HDDs in all ways except price per GB, so most builds will have an SSD for the OS and frequently accessed games, while HDDs hold other games and bulk file storage.
faster seek times
Why the fuck do you think we care you uninstall games if you're not OP retard?
2 tb is true freedom
1 tb. The small markup is worth not having to fuck with space restrictions trust me.
This comment will be hilarious in 2 years
Windows 10 ltsc or ltsb?
4TB Samsung QVO
LTSC is based off of Windows 10 1809, while LTSB is based off of Windows 10 1607. LTSC 2019 is pretty much better in every way, as long as you grab the V2 ISO that fixes the file deletion bug.
>QLC
>still $450
Call me when you can get one for
I hear this shit has no benefits for playing games over SATA.
7 sp1
Reminder to check sites that list deals. I got my hands on a 1TB Crucial for £80 and those go for £105+
Ignore these morons and listen to chad deals
youtube.com
Also 2TB NVMe and SSD drives are very similarly priced now so there's not much reason to get a 2TB SSD.
Cool thanks
