I suppose my main points are this: Catherine isn't necessarily a game for instant gratification, pop it in for 30 minutes to an hour and then be done with it for a while, this is why I included something like 2K20. While there is a multiplayer mode, the vast majority of people are in it for the story and I imagine they would want at least a few spare hours to get into that which for some wouldn't be easy to come by.
My other point is that it is a remake, it's not a brand new game where all or at least most of its content is unknown, there will be people who have bought the game because they enjoyed the original but might not have the urge to rush in and play it because they already know most of what happens already.

I think it's much more likely that most people won't want to spend $60+ on a remake that adds very little to a game that they played nearly a decade ago.

Story-wise, Redux is hot garbage. They turned the ambiguous original endings into objectively bad ends that you can't even ignore, watered the alignments down in the new endings for all the tards who missed the point and cried about extremism, pushed more youmanatee bullshit in all 3 of them.
New girl is both autistic and retarded and Lucifer's waifu-status got ramped up to 11 because she's mom and space marine is dad.

Gameplay was fine but their remakes usually are. They always fuck up the stories. Even when they claim the original staff is on the job, after 5+ years you can't expect the same sentiment for the original plot. In those cases it's better to have the new content totally isolated so it doesn't mingle with the original material at all.

This seems to be the go-to strategy when it comes to exploiting jap properties. Atlus is a heavy abuser of this tactic but it's also VERY common in anime, and manga to a lesser extent.

It's just depressing because Catherine and a lot of the SMTs have a ton of room for cool expansions, but almost every fucking time it's just "Nope, bolt this waifu on to the main story, add some shower scenes and anime hijinks, ruin the original endings." I think the only redux that avoided this fate was Devil Survivor. Soul Hackers was a coding clusterfuck otherwise the 3DS version would have absolutely added that bullshit with Nemissa.

I'd argue that she was given a pretty gud shake in Fullbody. Her new cutscenes and phone calls to Vincent at the bar really drives home that YES you are going out together. Its solely her new ending that sucks. I know that "technically" it's a good ending for her. She's realizing her full potential, but there are ways to show that with out making it a Bad end for Vincent. Alot of Katherine's motivation too settle down was that her parents were pressuring her and all of her friends had kids. Katherine's new ending should have been her realizing that her and Vincent dont have to have kids in a committed relationship.
