Probably because the game is meant to be viewed from a certain angle and if players can fly, devs won't be able to use tricks to pretend that the environment is bigger and prettier than it really is, as the player will be able to look at everything from various angles and distances.

The game was pretty good throughout except for the final ending sequence.
The gauntlet of enemies leading to a single prompt was pretty shit especially after stumbling on sidequests with huge outer world creatures. I guess it was too much to ask for more big fights like that.

Whole premise of "scp objects and doing weird shit" allows for so much crazy stuff, but they went for "zombies with guns", with mods as gear and crafting and radiant quests.
Audio diaries are awful, why can't you turn them on and go around doing stuff like in any other normal game, some texts are cool but you get so many shitty ones that i just hate those "lets put lore as bunch of text in our game", how often do you alt-tab to read TES lore while playing skyrim.
Videos with scientist and other are cool, and overall there's a lot of cool stuff (like when you find alan wake page and alan wake starts talking stuff was very cool thanks kanye) but overall it just boring zombie with gun.
Also map sucks so many balls holy fuck, if it was a 3d map it would be great.

I wish that the default outfit for the game and for the promotion materials was the director outfit. Not only it looks good but it also reduce the unoriginality feel of the game. Plus, I have a fetish for office ladies and the outfit is hot as fuck.
My biggest problem about it is that you can only ascend during the first jump and not during mid air. If you fall down then that's it, you'll die and backtrack from the control point again.

That's because you're shit. There's no problem at all since it autoaim for you and there's a clear line between the object you want to throw and the target. You can't miss your target unless there's a wall between the object and the target. As a matter fact, your argument for "can't shoot when in cover" is bizarre because this mechanic lets you do that. Take cover by positioning yourself in the left wall, the object floating on the right and has a clear line of sight to the target, and shoot the object, and vice versa. You can even shoot the object and still hits target despite having no clear view to the enemy, thanks to the autoaim system

I didn't call it an immersive sim, moron. I called Immersive sim-esque, as in the fact that it has backtracking, lots of documents to read, videos to watch, and tapes to listen to that fill the world and lore, a semi leveling up system, optional areas to explore, an open world in a contained place, and it kind of gives you the option to aproach each situation (not as much as a full immersive sim, but it gives you a lot of options as to not only use "shooting").
Calling it a generic TPS, with all those things that it has, is what strikes me as stupid.

Immersive sim are defined by the variety of way you can tackle the problems, Dishonored being one of the most well-known example where you can sneak/kill everyone, use magic/tools/both, and kill/dispose of your targets. Despite the fact that Controk looks somewhat similar from afar, particularly compared to Prey, which had a similar concept (overrun self-sustaining building with paranormal events), it's very different because there's simply no point in the game where you need to choose how to tackle a situation.

it is a very generic TPS with not really generic setting, but the genre is defined by gameplay and it's really uninspired and boring, i'd say GENERIC. you run and gun people, sometimes use your "magic"

Nothing that only has the secondary elements of an immersive sim can be considered immersive sim -esque. That would allow any game with diceroll combat and permadeath to be called a roguelike. The game needs to have the primary elements, which is complete system-oriented design. Every asset and mechanic is built around universal world rules and the player is encouraged to exploit those rules, not necessarily just the mechanics. For example damage is not just something the decreases the health of the player and enemies, but can also break down objects including doors. Or that AI is not just programmed to attack the player, but programmed to see and hear, and to have preferences, so the AI reacts to stimulus generated by other entities and the reaction is determined by their preference. Fire burns flammable materials. Ice reduces friction. Light sources can be removed to make things more difficult for enemies to see, or added to make them see what they didn't before. Things can be picked up and stacked. Force of explosions can be used to move heavy obstacles. An immersive sim cannot simply be a game that has a few mechanics that provide a limited array of approaches that can be tested and listed.
When a developer excitedly explains in an interview how they saw online that someone played their game and used a perfectly logical solution none of them ever even considered, that's when you're on the right track. "There was a heavy crate blocking the way on the upper platform, so I placed a plank as a ramp and rolled one of the heavy gas bottles from three corridors away up the ramp and next to the crate. I ignited the bottle's nozzle and the massive thrust of the fire jet moved the crate just enough for me to squeeze past."

Well I didn't imply that immersive sims and roguelikes share nothing in common now did I? But as much as roguelikes lack 3d mouse control and a first person mode, immersive sims don't have turn-based gameplay in procedural grid ASCII dungeons. Being able to bash down a door in Dark Messiah doesn't mean it's a roguelike and fire magic turning a bat into cooked meat in ADoM doesn't make it an immersive sim.
