Not that OP's """leak""" is real, but didn't they just acquire a bunch of literally who game dev studios recently? It's not impossible that they got a group of devs who are actual Banjo fans to do a remaster or something. Although personally, I hope that if they ever did a remake of Banjo-Kazooie, it'd be Rare's unused concept "Banjo X" where the game starts out like a remake, but slowly gets more and more different and the characters become aware that they're in a remake.

You could probably count the people left from the old days on one hand. Everyone else left years ago. A lot of them like Chris Sutherland and Steve Mayles made Yooka-Laylee. I don't know if Gregg is protective of it, as in would he be willing to hand it off to someone else? Or would he say "only I can make a sequel, so no one will until I want to"

As if the background of extremely generic clouds, the MS Game Studios logo, and the bland subtitle, not to mention how easily recreated this image as a whole is, weren't enough to know this is fake, Rare has already come out and said that nothing is in the works right now, least of all a new game. They said that seeing Banjo & Kazooie in Smash makes them want to revisit the series but if they do, it would start with a remake to test the waters before making a new entry.

Not really his decision. If they do hand it off though, I just hope for two things. 1. It's made by someone who will give Banjo the love it deserves. And 2. Those people are not Playtonic.

He seemed to suggest that he was consulted about the SSB appearance, but didn't go into any detail. Since Gregg is both only noteworthy guy left from the old Banjo team and the lead designer, hypothetically if there was something new Phil Spencer would ask him if he wanted to work on it. I wonder if the blokes at Sumo Digital could do it justice

Here's the problem with a new game. If nuRare decided to make Banjo Threeie, it would be beyond terrible. The only way to make it somewhat decent is if nuRare gets their feet wet by completely remaking the old games. That will give them the insight they need to make the third game have some soul.

They won't make a new game until they gauge interest in the IP, which is what a remake is for. Spyro in particular had shit that looked radically different from the original, enough to pass it off as new content, but that's not what it was made for.
