Which was the true ending?
Which was the true ending?
>enemies and boss designs are all uninspired and shallow, with the exception of the Divine Dragon
>compare that to other souls games where even the weakest entry had mob designs like the Pursuer that puts everything in Sekiro to shame
>level design is even worse: despite it allowing for 3D movement almost every area in the game feels like a collection of squares stacked on top of each other (which is literally the case with all the pagodas), and the parts that aren’t are just straightforward grapplespam paths
>no character creation, which wouldn’t be a problem if Wolf actually had a personality or more than 2 words of dialogue at a time, which he doesn’t
>no unique armor or weapons, meaning there’s no reason to explore past the first area unless you like worthless consumables and ceramic shards
>makes you hold down a button to collect loot from corpses despite the fact that previous games automatically collected them for you
>near every prosthetic and combat art in the game is useless, you’ll never need to use anything besides the stuff you get before the second Genichiro fight
>music is downright awful. Gets so bad in some areas that you’ll have to mute the game
>stealth makes every level a cakewalk, and even some boss fights
>speaking of which, there’s little reason to even fight basic mobs, as your time is better spent rushing straight to bosses and mini-bosses
>reuses bosses and enemies so often that you’re likely to encounter them one after another as is the case with the Guardian/Headless Ape and Corrupted Monk
>almost no interesting characters at all, probably the worst offense considering how many interesting and imaginative characters there were in previous games
>voice acting is terrible in both languages
>no lore to speak of
>story isn’t very good to begin with
was clearly marketed as ‘dark’ and subverting expectations despite the fact that it’s the most cookie-cutter samurai flick in existence
>seriously, even Nioh had a better fucking story
>movement is chunky, your character feels and looks like he has constipation
>parrying somehow feels less consistent than MGR, which came out 6 years prior
>some bosses lifted directly from previous games, with Demon of Hatred just being a Manus/Laurence recolor, complete with AoE attacks
>no replayability to speak of, once you beat the game once there’s no reason to do it again except for the cheevos
>brought out the worst of the fanbase that considers difficulty to be the thing that made souls great games and not the setting, soundtrack, characters, lore, and versatility of playstyles. If you want raw difficulty just play Frigid Outskirts on NG+
Give me one reason why this game deserves to be above a 2/10.
autism much
Because I fucked your mum
That's good for you, but what does it say about the game?
TL;DR
probably dragon return but the best is the sekiro sacrifice one
I liked it
I was put off by the very first sentence. Uninspired and shallow are both extremely vague wishy washy words people just use to mean ‘I didn’t like it’
Return ending I believe
I liked this game. It was fun.
>enemies and boss designs are all uninspired and shallow
How so? The point of the game is to replicate the feeling of swords clashing
Immortal Severance because it was the first one I got
>enemies aren't all high fantasy monstrosities or knights 0/10
>buildings aren't round 0/10
>i can't make shrek 0/10
>ok fair enough exploration rewards are bad
>the loot vacuum button is because the game is higher paced and more mobile but they still want you to have a "lets see what I got" moment (also DS didn't automatically loot for you, just drop souls)
>fair enough
>completely wrong
>no segments that are difficult are stealthable anyway
>also true for dark souls
>impossible to encounter 2 monks directly after each other, you need to fight owl first, and reusing minibosses isn't that bad, in this game you can chew through any boss you fought before easily so it's not tedious or anything
>if you don't think isshin is the tightest shit get out of my face
>japanese voice acting is good
>muh vaatividya baseless speculation
>story isn't that great but it sure beats "and then I walked in and mopped up the undead faggots after all the lore events already happened"
>never played nioh
>movement is 1000 times smoother than any other souls game
>get good you fucking turd burglar
>making a general case with one example is a cheap argument tactic that I also use, etc
>fair enough, but dark souls is boring as fuck to replay as well aside from maybe once
>woooow good combat? no thanks, I much prefer the story
because the game is good and you are dumb
The sequel teaser one obviously
General rule of thumb is the ending that requires the most side quests is the true ending, in this case you had to find the snake hearts as extra side quests
The one Sekiro stops being a shotafag, get a loli waifu and goes west.
They put in a normal guy samurai dude when I wanted a undead guy knight dude.
>the game is good
>this is what fromdrones really believe
this guy sperging out like a retard lmao
Didn't read lol
>They put in a normal guy samurai dude when I wanted a undead guy knight dude
So you're an autist then. Got it
I was being ironic
The Child of Rejuvenation one, all are good though
There's no such thing as a fromdrone. They all hate at least one game. I couldn't care one bit for Demon's Souls, it's really shitty in retrospect.
After the several months of people legitimately crying about not being able to play dress up prior to the games release I can't even tell anymore
well, dressup WOULD make the game a bit more fun
It is what it is. It's just a visual design change, it's not like it would truly add anything
yeah, but you would get endorphins when exploring and finding cool hats, exploratory loot being a feature the game lacks
This
I found it very inspired. One of those games you can tell the devs enjoyed making.
so i finally got to the guy that cut off my arm that has the kid with him, and he kicked the shit out of me, but i was able to find a different path to the monk temple, and its been much easier. do i still have a lot of the game left? most of the notable things ive seen discussed i havent encountered yet
shit kicker is like thirdway point, by the way you will have to beat him before unlocking the monk temple boss, so you better just man up
man, what the fuck. him and the japs with swords right before him are tough as shit, why would they make the enemies in the subsequent section easier?
Purification is the best ending if the game never gets a sequel, though Shura gets special mention.
I see you didn't get to the elite mobs of the temple, those guys will make the pajama samurai look like fodder
I'm conflicted on this. The game needs better motivation for exploring the areas, but one of the things I despised the most about Souls were all the retards dressed as clowns.
I disagree. The flying halberdiers of Senpou Temple are very easy if you learn to knock them down with shurikens. Ashina bathrobe samurai are some of the worst enemies in the game, second only to ministry ninjas in how annoying they are.
They should drop the upgrade tree and drop upgrades in the level, maybe scrolls that taught you techniques as well. game wouldn't hurt to have a few alt weapons either, you could have extra difficult optional segments that rewarded you with a weapon or like half of a weapon because I think the games normal mobs were a bit too easy
dunno, the bathrobe dudes weren't that difficult after you've fought them a few times, straw hat monks are probably the mob that I have the most problems with now after beating the game, they're up there with shotgunners and the mega elite red hat samurai that only show during the invasion, those guys that have rockets but aren't the normal rocket dudes. But neither are that difficult in retrospect, since a lot of minibosses and bosses are objectively stronger but you can still trash those in 1 try after practice
Bathrobe jedi always get pulled in groups, which is a nightmare. Also they love to stab you at point blank range, where I always fail to press the mikiri counter in time.
I like to bait the stab out. They're glass cannons through and through, it doesn't take much before they're in deathblow range
I think there are three groups where that is the case. First the guys planning war by the window, and if you stealth sucessfully you can backstab one of them. Then the guys where you can jump down from the roof, and that's just an old fucker plus one of the early game fodders. Then the other two right in the room behind them, and they don't get pulled into that fight if you don't move too much or let the old woman cry, and if you want to fight them then you can backstab one of them. Plus you don't have to fight the last two, you can just head up the stairs for an idol.
ehh I don't think they're particularly hard, just annoying. Their attacks are very easy to block they just take a long ass time to kill.
Waifus are shit.
also i decided to jump to the first floor and open those two doors, so i found another path behind the castle. should i still fight shitkicker before heading that way for some reason?
I like them all lol. I even emulated the first kings field with fan translations. literally the best developer of all time and none of you can prove me wrong.
I would just fight him, he's a vital storyline boss and I don't remember how far that path takes you except you'll probably get your ass kicked even harder. My one and only tip for genichiro is: learn how to parry. I learnt by fighting him, and it was like I unlocked my chi points, I got like 10x better at the game after those two hours
I don't have to prove anything to retards who think King's Field was a good game
>I don't remember how far that path takes you
Gun Fort
>you'll probably get your ass kicked even harder
No
There's only one boss you can fight before Genichiro, and that is Illusory Monk. And he's easier.
Illusory monk isn't easier than genichiro when you have pre- genichiro level of beads and memories. In fact, snake eyes in the gun fort probably is harder than geni at that point.
The one with CJ and Big Smoke modded in.
This desu. I like to think that Kuro grew up into a bad-ass ninja-samurai too though. But him living a quiet, normal life would be comfy too.
Dragon's homecoming.
DLC will be Sekiro and rice loli travelling to the west.
based
>DLC will be Sekiro and rice loli travelling to the west.
Yes user, soon...
>with the exception of the Divine Dragon
Opinion discarded. Divine Dragon wasn't shit, but it was still disappointing.
From Software is focused on The Elden Ring. There'll be no DLC for Sekiro.
