If my friends don't have any opinions on a game I generally stick to buying 7/10 rated games. 7/10 means there's a flaw that journos hate that isn't a real flaw like a learning curve to the controls or high difficulty.

It's opposite for me with hating many popular and acclaimed titles. I cant think of single total public disaster that I ended up liking. Closest could be first Persona. Coming from P3 I really liked far more elements in battle and darker, kinda eery tone. After beating it, I was surpised some persona guides even here recommend staying away from it. In my defence- it was PSP version with some qol changes.

Yes, the combat is janky.
Yes, the gameplay is a bit repetitive.
No, I don't care when everything else is so unique and fun.

Mecha TRPG set in alternate mid-XXth century with a really unique battle mechanics built around timing. Also, ground troops play a major role.

Did you just liked it or loved it? I can understand former.
Game has many flaws and I'd rate story lower than first one, but it wasn't completely bad game. New chips, synchros, motherfucking full focus, gameplay was still tight. Main problem was you had to play it two or three times to unlock everything and both story and its progression was step down. It also came after fantastic 2 and 3.
If nothing else, it moved series into more wide scale and allowed us to get 5 and 6. Gotta mention horrible problems even on some GBA units while running it though.

I'll be honest, I only bought the game because seeing anime girls with that hairstyle makes my balls tingle. It wasn't a good game, but it wasn't terrible either. It's about what you'd expect for a few bucks from the DSi eshop.

Loved this when I was a kid. Could never get past disc 1 because disc 2 had a scratch on it that made the game crash after that one cinematic with the air balloon.

Posting sports games on Yea Forums may as well be illegal, especially soccer games.

But fuck it, I really liked the demo for this. Volta was really fun on co-op and the core gameplay feels a lot better with the new ball physics.

It being the PSP version makes sense -- the original was jank as shit, even more than you experienced. But it was still overall a solid product, just too different and wild from the usual Western fare at the time, and definitely does not age well.

Finally, some good fucking games.
