It’s at least five years off from completion. What’s the use of getting hyped about it now?
It’d be like getting hyped about Black Mesa in 2006.
>tfw was hyped for black mesa in 06
>it didn't disappoint
yea i'm hype af op
sure
Could be good, could be bad. I'll play it when it comes out. Black Mesa was pretty fun to play.
What are good half-life mods, by the way?
DownFall was very good, if short (~30 minutes)
Most definitely, although it's probably gonna be a long while. Also curious as to how they'll try replicating the VA's.
>not being hyped every waking moment between 2005 and 2012 for Black Mesa
Borealis?
>remember the modder posted it here years ago
>forget about it for years thinking it was all in my head
>its real
has this still got the big robot thing popping out at the end
Black Mesa had some pretty good amateur VAs, even HDTF could find someone decent for GMan, even if he didn't pronounce Black Mesa properly

>pic related
lmao not one bit
When is this dog shit coming out? The devs have always been smug assholes hoarding leak stuff waving their dicks around and now they've missed every deadline and gone mostly silent. The hl2-beta mega patch and Dark Interval have both done better jobs than those cunts ever did.
>Black Mesa
>Half-Life 2: DownFall
>Entropy Zero
There are some very good fan-made HL games. Remember that TF and CS started as fan mods.
Yeah, I just wonder how long it will take for Valve to shut them down, since they're using UE4 and not Source. But I'll be damned if it doesn't feel accurate to HL2 in terms of design and physics. They also redid all the assets, sounds included, and everything sounds spot on.
The only point that remains to be seen is how they treat the very vague script they were given, and if they horribly botch the voice acting.
I’m betting on Boreal Alyph instead.
Why not using Source? It's a very robust game engine
ITT: vaporware fan projects
at this time of year?
They probably wanted their project to have modern rendering effects, higher poly models and all that jazz.
Source is a nightmare to work with. Even Valve map makers hate Hammer.
KAFF, the guys making Boreal Alyph, Project Borealis’s Source Engine friendly rival/counterpart, are working on making their own Source tools (called Blacksmith) before anything else.
If it looks good, maybe, but Source is tailor-made for an HL game and it will help to look like an Half-Life game.
At this time of day?
>tfw had a good idea for a half-life fanstory but writing angst strikes again
Fuck
I have nothing to do with the development, so I can't help you there, but the previous post still stands. And they did an excellent job of keeping the look and feel, even during combat, using original assets. These lads seem very experienced with modding.
