>Astral Chain has been announced more than a year after the teaser and released before we even got a gameplay trailer of bayonetta 3
I'm really hoping this isn't another Scalebound

This. Then what happens is the definition gets changed permanently here and it's one less topic to discuss. I shouldn't have come back. Fuck this board.

when was the last time Capcom said anything about this?

I hate these overly dramatic retards. People just like taking the piss. This isn't news. We all know what vaporware means.

Claiming to leave a website over threads like this (which you aren't going to do) is overly dramatic.

Around 4 years ago, claiming that it was not dead

oof

>see trailer for this at e3 2018
>when will it come out?
>lol fucked if we know
>they show it again at e3 2019
>what about you faggots?
>dunno lol

The lack of news for years is pretty standard for Atlus games though, remember Persona 5?

This. I don't know why people are getting their panties in a knot over SMTV. For the longest time all we had about P5 was Engrish and a chair. And even to this day all we have about Re:Fantasy is chicken-eating knights.

It’s just going to be the same mons all over again with a couple of new “iconic” redesigns

Release date December 2013

Do you guys even remember P5? In this same time span, we had much more information about P5 than we have about SMT5. First year after they first announced it, we got the teaser showing off Joker for the first time and announcing the delay and PS4 version. Second year, we got a trailer showing off some of the main cast, an actual look at the game and some of the early cutscenes and activities and shit.

We're two years after SMT5 was revealed and the only thing we have is that short trailer from two years ago showing off a little bit of destroyed Tokyo and the backs of two characters.

>game has a normal dev cycle for a medium sized team making an AA game on an engine they're learning on the spot + Atlus' unwillingness to show up what's cooking unless it's 80% done
>it's vaporware!

Protip: Bayo 3 didn't start development until early this year, the teaser was a lie to get you to buy a Switch.

The game had only just begun development when the teaser came out, smoothbrain. Video games take a long time to develop.

Thanks for letting us know you're a faggot

Why fangirl always like this shit character ?

he cute

Atlus games are always low quality asset flipping. Their development cycle should never take more than 2 years top unless they started from scratch several times like they did with Persona 5.

Tokyo Mirage Sessions would be a better example in this specific context. That game was announced so early that Atlus didn't even know what kind of game it would be themselves. The reveal "trailer" was just a montage of old official art from various SMT and Fire Emblem games. Then there was complete radio silence for over two years before they finally put out a new trailer showing what the game would actually be like.

Atlus has a bad habit of announcing a game's existence the second the project gets the greenlight, well before there's anything tangible to show of it. P5 wasn't as bad but it still wasn't great either, but SMTV so far falls in line with stuff like TMS.

If you look even further, it also falls in line with Atlus's uncanny knack for putting out games late into a console's life.

>make a brand new engine for Persona 5
>make an entire game just ot test the engine
>never use the engine for Persona 5
God, they are really bad at managing their resources.

This

>implying the golden era of Atlus PS2 renaissance isn't a lucky byproduct of Nocturne being a commercial failure and its assets being repurposed for a few rushed games that sold enough to make it even

They just said that was halfway done in December. We’ve had numerous teasers for it too.

>Atlus games are always low quality asset flipping.
Hence why their next UE4 SMT related game should come much faster than SMTV. They're using a new engine for them here, remember, and from the comments they've made about it, prior engines they worked for were a nightmare. The director raved about being able to see objects in real time, ffs

we haven't seen any gameplay yet

Really hoping this one is worth the wait.

Eh, I expect it to be as shallow as a puddle but still get numerous praises from journalists.

>Hashino directed
>RPG
You never learn. Catherine had a surprisingly fun game flow

Astral Chain was in the works for years, the game was like 99% finished when it was revealed

I remember when everyone called Persona 5 vaporware and said it would never come out. Fun times.

>Persona 5 vaporware
But it was for almost a decade user.
