There's a badlands biome in Minecraft now? I haven't played in ages.

They were added sometime in 2013. Originally called the Mesa biome.

Attached: Modified_Wooded_Badlands_Plateau.png (1440x837, 1.41M)

mountains are most in need a facelift

also what happened to the Desert and Savannah? They were supposed to do the losing biomes later on and now they are announcing another vote?

I rewatched the Biome Chooser video from last year and the only thing that implied the losing biomes were to updated was "So it's up to you to decide which biome we update first."
I guess they're not doing that which is a shame cause the Desert and Savanna had some interesting features to it.

God I despise mountains. Ugliest fucking biome in the whole game, praying they get visual improvements. Something like this pic would be amazing

Attached: mountains.png (1920x1017, 2.54M)

how about all of them you lazy fucks
why only one
why didn't you add those other mobs
fuck

Attached: 1566962079476.png (198x198, 2K)

if you dont vote mountains you're killing this game

They're doing this shit AGAIN???? JUST DO ALL OF IT YOU FUCKING HACKS YOUR GAME HAS NO FUCKING CONTENT AND YOURE A MULTIBILLION DOLLAR IP WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU

Uuuhhhmm, why not just update all of them at once? You have enough money and manpower.

>Multibillion dollar company
>Have a fanbase that would literally work for free if you snapped your fingers
>Also release content previews, meaning you will have to work on every single biome anyway
>ONLY CHOOSE ONE LMAO

And fans gobble this shit up as "devs really care about their fans uh?".

Attached: 1415399455671.jpg (500x500, 50K)

To be honest, the other mob designs sucked and don’t really belong in the game. The one that won still doesn’t even fit in with Notch’s vision.

Nah I like the broken buggy mountains we have, it's the last memento of the old world crazy generation

Your argument is invalidated by the fact that dolphins, turtles, and pandas are in the game, along with phantoms and the wither.

any mod recommendations to generate sweet terrain?

>not a proper magic system yet
>sword and axe the only type of melee weapons
>some biomes are completely empty and not worth exploring
>3 bosses

fucking modders can make some cool shit, imagine if mojang actually tried with their fucktons of money, what a bunch of lazy uninspired fucks

Attached: guhhu.png (1264x948, 1.94M)

These fuckers are so slow with doing updates. Only pick one bro.

Attached: 1541190544070.png (1689x1044, 439K)

Those are things Notch wouldn’t be against adding, those monster designs are.

I just want them to release a full fucking update so all the modders can finally port their shit over. I’m still kicking shit in 1.12

3 bosses? Did they add a new one recently

>Buy dev studio that's know for its slow updates
>Don't upgrade it
What the fuck is microsoft thinking? I wonder if they even managed to get back half of the money they paid for.

Don't worry man.
Everybody forgets about the elder guardians.

Mesa/Badlands is honestly one of the last biomes that needs to be updated

Biomes O Plenty is pretty much the standardbearer.

I think mountains is a better vote, they are older and lack any distinct details. Badland biomes are pretty rare and you know they would just slap a couple of reskinned cows on it and call that a day.

Literally next to impossible to find these, don't waste a fucking update on that

Biomes O’ Plenty should just be added to the default game

It's not too late for them to show off the Savanna and Desert updates at Minecon

does it really count as a boss though?

It’s not happening, they are going to memory hole those biomes.

Did you watch the video dipshit. It's about which one is updated FIRST.

this
i play minecraft on and off with friends and i cannot recall the last time i saw a mushroom biome or mesa

I want you to look at pic related, and also remember that minecoins exist, and you tell me what you think the answer to your question is.

When all they do is just add 2 blocks and a useless mob there isn't really an excuse for not updating them all in the same update, especially when it takes half a year to push out an update.

Mountains. Nothing beats a good tall mountain. I usually base anything I build on the land I'm building on, and its hard to find a good mountain. You can do some cool shit with them.

Nigga, with the resources they have at hand they could have had twice the content in biomes, plants animals, whatever of Dwarf Fortress, yet every single modder creates more content then this team working on a multi billion dollar game.

Attached: 1395051070663.png (330x328, 89K)

Quality control, they have to make sure every update keeps the game stable and accessible across all platforms.

Thoughts on Biomes o Plenty?

I was with you till you insulted him

A yes, that's why 1.14 ran so great right?
Me, and just about every other player, definitely didn't have issues with chunks not loading at all.

>this ugly fucking artstyle
God why
Also vote mountains you hacks

Probably an issue on your end

>they’re doing the lazy voting bullshit AGAIN
If the next couple updates are still like this, I might drop the game for good

>not just playing modded 1.12.2

>vote for mobs/biomes
WHY
YOU HAVE MICROSOFT'S CASH
PUT EVERYTHING IN, YOU FUCKBOYS

Fuck those stupid shitty ass gems that are good for nothing and just take goddamned space

The abundance of biomes is cool tho, except when you are looking for a rare biome and it's suddenly 10 times as rare because there are a crapload of silly biomes all around.

It’s better than Notch tweeting about punching commies and not hearing any news

What are you 14? Also
>Nigga = Nigger

Attached: 1551818172145.jpg (753x707, 331K)

Mountains obviously.
>He's a swamp fag

Yeah, bull fucking shit. I don't know one person that played on java that didn't have that issue

why should they?
they will still get people on every update because thats when people want to come back to playing, but if they also put an update to a vote then for kiddies it will look like they care a lot about them.

The biome picker is just a side thing for the main update. Last year we got an update to Taiga biomes and all of that stuff was overshadowed by the complete rework of villages and villagers along with adding raids.

Attached: v&p1.14.jpg (1600x900, 237K)

Entitled alt right Notch worshipper

How come witches are not illagers?

Why can't we just have all three for fuck sake, it's just two blocks and a mob per biome

Because mojang probably gets paid on salary rather than on update completion. They have no reason to actually update often or thoroughly.

For the record it’s not just “Two blocks and a mob.” There are many bug fixes, optimization, and quality changes that take place in the game. They can’t go around added 50 new things and expect it to work out the package, accessibility and functionality matters first.

None of them. Make the fucking caves not complete and utter shit instead.

probably for the better, would rather have an update once every two years than have a ton of updates coming out every week

Im thinking badlands cause the biome is ugly af, empty and generally worthless

And I want to be able to carry a lantern in my offhand, but we'll never see that because they're lazy pricks that choose to add Phantoms instead.

>not just making a new one

Attached: 1503451547392.jpg (400x303, 55K)

Mountain with new mobs and new structures (mountain villages, mountain caves/ruins?) might be coool.

Breaks game balance and limits creativity

first off development takes time and games take years to make.
having tried reverse engineering minecraft java in the past i can say that it is very badly made filled with spaghetti code. It really takes time to develop for it compared to bedrock.
Thankfully it has gotten a lot better over time, you can check for yourself if you compare performance in 1.14 compared to 1.7.10 and the dreaded betas.
My point is the game cannot continue to develop unless there IS a bug-fix update that completely rewrites old parts of the game.
dont forget the game up until a while ago relied on number IDs for blocks.

Based and lotr pilled

>minecraft
>balance
That was thrown the fuck out the window when beds were added, removing mobs from the overworld entirely.
And then the thing I just mentioned, Phantoms, was something they added to FORCE you to use beds which keeps the mobs unspawned in the overworld.
Who give a fuck about balance in Minecraft?

yeah let's add another hust of empty land in the pile.

Really? The worlds I create almost always have badlands near them

We need better transition biomes. I still find permafrosts next to deserts. We need better rivers that connect to lakes and oceans. We need more continental biome generation. I could go on.

We need a fucking underground update. Take a page out of Terraria's book, put the Mine back in Minecraft instead of having 80% of the world generate exactly the same.

>the only underground things are dungeons, abandoned mineshafts, strongholds, and highlands emerald veins
>all of those are almost a decade old
I hear people recommend this a lot, but what SHOULD be added exactly?

first 3D biome was introduced in the last snapshot.
Maybe they'll do something small for 1.15 but you may have to wait for 1.16 for something proper.
play terraria and you will understand.

LET ME BUILD MY DWARF MINE CAVE ON THE SIDE OF THE MOUNTAIN SO ME AND MY DESCENDENTS CAN ACQUIRE GOLD AND PRECIOUS STONES UNTIL OUR GREED IS PUNISHED BY A TERRIBLE DRAGON.

Underground biomes more ores ore resources more mobs more dungeons an improvement upon existing ones. We need content basically because its pretty bare bones.

cave exclusive biomes and cave villages.
make a small chance to get a mushroom biome underground maybe with exclusive items.
make massive caves so you can fit a whole village inside of it.
Generate more strongholds that also spawns more powerful enemies, the strongholds with end portals should be reworked to be much more of a challenge getting in.

they become witches with thunder.

Didn't they do this last year with taiga, desert, and savanna?

iirc, the voting is just which one gets updated first, right? Don't they still have the meerkats and palm trees, ostriches and termites and baobabs to put in?

Is it worth getting back into minecraft at this point? Used to have a ton of fun with the guys many years ago, but the survival update kinda killed our interest.

A good start would be to have the underground change based on what biome it's under. Sand and sandstone under deserts with the chance of finding buried tombs, icy caves with patches of thin ice that break and plunge you into a pool of freezing water, massive wide-open caverns under mountains, jungle caves overgrown with vines and tree roots, eels and angler fish that stalk the flooded crevices under the ocean, there's a bunch of shit they could do.

If you're not interested in survival there's always Creative Mode. Always fun if you're only interested in building cool shit.

Just imagine a Deep Rock Galactic tier underground generation

Fuck the world gen and fuck the devs and their forest fetish.

swamp
alligators

Yes, it's one of the few rare biomes

>Implying this biome update will be more than a new block and a mob

The update to the biome will just be a bonus to accompany the actual main goal of the update.
Like last year the taiga got updated as a side thing to the Village and Pillage update.

People have been making underground villages for the longest time, make it an actual option, add crops that thrive underground besides some mushrooms, add ways to cope with sand and gravel, turn finding lava and water into something else than "put a block there never mine again".

While at it, change mining itself so it's a bit more interesting than "make a straight line for god knows how many blocks, essentially playing a RNG game in which you hope to find what you want"

Do something more interesting with metals or gems, possibly add new ones, there are SO MANY MODS which add metals to do interesting things with them it's not even funny, so many of them using energy sources and even making them compatible with each other, maybe it's time to add them to the base game.

Long story short, make the underground more complex and make lategame stuff there

The keep on removing features every update for no reason. What happened to the promised land, or unique plank textures, or like 20 biomes?

Install a fuckload of mods, just install a popular modpack if you don't want to do any research.

Pic related contains a lightning rod that generates power via lightning, a multiblock solar panel, a nuclear reactor (that has a screen that updates in real time on the side), a small processing plant for minerals that generate automatically via a quarry (all that power from the solar, lightning and nuclear had to go somewhere) and draconic evolution endgame stuff on the back.

Yes you end up being overpowered as fuck, I can mine blocks in a 9x9x9 grid now, but mining stopped being fun a long while ago in the first place, right now I'm playing it as more of an automation game so I can get materials to finish up draconic evolution gear to smack the end-endgame guy and then possibly make personalized dimensions (which is a thing) and whatever other content I find.

Last things I did were digging into a mod based on spell programming so I could make a kind of block I wanted and building a storage system to house the absurd amount of ore and such I have (304k and counting)

Considering breeding bees afterwards, the genetic trait system looks neat.

Attached: it's fun, kinda.png (1676x871, 1.71M)

Who cares, Hytale is coming out and its going to kill minecraft.

RTG with the rivers mod and maybe the climate one, though that is not very apparent outside of preventing the snowy deserts I keep finding with vanilla generation.
It basically just feels like what minecraft generation would strive for, and is only beaten by hand edited lands.
BoP is cool at first until you realize most of the areas are just cosmetic and don't really do anything besides give you a color palette switch. Collecting everything suddenly takes 10x longer as you must search out each biome and harvest it. Not really worth it imo, but I like to do more with less.
Not sure if I like the realtime growing trees that are round and spindly, but I do know that it slowed my game down a lot on my old computer. Haven't tried it since, but style wise, you might enjoy it if you haven't seen it yet.

>mojang shills actually posting here
try adding more than 1 mob per year you lazy fucks

>more overworld shit
>not a single sign of a cave update
sasuga, mojang,

We do not need RF in vanilla.
The amount of bloat introduced in any mod that uses RF is just out of the scope of minecraft. As much as I love Immersive Engineering and the like, they do not fit the medieval tech vanilla is known for.
Making ore only generate adjacent to cave blocks or other ores would solve the 'rng' shaft mining, but would make it like Terraria where you just make shafts to find new caves. In essence, the problem doesn't really change other than the size of a vein expanding to encompass an entire cave system, which can make it feel less like RNG, but it is basically the same just with more threats forced on you. Every cave is crawling with mobs by the time you dig your way into it, and just getting to that ore would be less mining and more fighting.
Iron golems shouldn't drop iron. Or if they do, make the villagers actually require iron to make them instead of spawning them from nothing.
I don't really like how modded minecraft basically just turns into Factorio production loops only without most of the satisfaction of visible moving logistics systems (looking at you, enderio and your terrible broken item teleporting conduits). At the end of it I am left with nothing to do but watch numbers go up on my ultra advanced computer storage, which just vanishes the item into a block somewhere until I summon it from the controller later if I ever even bother with that as I am already done.
They basically turn into singleblock machine tech races and I miss out on the slow methodical pace for designing I get when all I have is a water bucket and some redstone stuff.

>They basically turn into singleblock machine tech races and I miss out on the slow methodical pace for designing I get when all I have is a water bucket and some redstone stuff.

Tried Sky Factory?

>more overworld shit
