So the joke is that, because River City Ransom on the NES was a definitely Japanese city or town but westernized, River City Girls is again a comedic take on a definitely Japanese city but full of American youth culture and jokes and stereotypes. Am I getting that right?

Every food item gives you a small permanent stat boost the first time you eat it. I prioritize getting new moves over food if i have the money, usually after clearing quests.

Only the GBA version was like that (because they couldn't get the graphic designers to redo the graphics). The NES version actually changed the graphics for the characters and scenery to make them more American.

RCG's city feels somewhat americanized with the downtown and ocean heights areas.

Am i the only one that find this clashes of towns charming? I don't know but something about mixing 2 different styles of city into one giant mess has always been cool looking for me in a similar way to how Cowboy Bebop mixed a futuristic style with present suburban cities.
