>Character gives a whole speech

>Character say "Yes you can't"
>Translation says "No you can"
Who is in the right here?
Always so uncanny when a dub's speech stops, but the characters mouth keeps moving
Japan is a silly land with silly tongue.
>Character says "Eh?"
>subs say "What do you mean by that?"
It's not too different from scandi where "ahh" means yes/ja and "ehh" no/nei
Nigger, in what scandinavian tongue does "aah" mean yes?
Because scandinavian languages are fucking germanic and resemble english quite a lot. And in Finnish, "aah" certainly doesn't mean yes.

It's just dialectic variations retard, common in most parts outside big cities. It might shock you to learn that norwegian especially has the most dialectic variations in the entire world.
Only swedecucks killed dialects for riksmål or whatever they call that elf language of theirs.
If you think ahh and ehh is bad, you'd kill yourself going outside Oslo
I mean English has that too.

>recognize a phrase in a game

>not sure if I should complain about the translation being bad or not because I don't speak japanese
you probably shouldn't, but what was the phrase?
japanese is a language of non-specifics. interpretation is left up to both the receiver as well as the deliverer. how else could a society get so retarded i mean come on.
those are the letters tsu, so, shi and n, user
it's not that hard if you actually try to learn it
>character says itadakimasu
>translation "rub a dub dub here comes the grub"
>Translation is weird as fuck
>character says yes
>working designs localization: "outdated pop culture reference"
Can this shit be more desperate for woke points? Vitiligo is ugly as sin.
This is actually standard practice since Japanese questions can have double and triple negatives so they need to be rewritten in English such that yes becomes no.
I guess it can't be helped.
Game translations are often bad if they have a dual audio because you get dub subtitles coupled with original voices, and the dubbers often want to rewrite stuff or change the tone of the delivery. So you get something like hulkspeak Gonta in DRV3.
Re - again
Sign - title or label
You are removing your title, therefore changing it to something new or allowing someone new to take the title
You are designing, except that means something else. If you'd sign for the position again, then you'd be resigning

>subtitles say "RUN!"
