Any horror games that have exactly this feel?

Deadspace... almost.

resident evil 1

no, but if you haven't played it, The Thing video game is p good

This is as close as you're going to get, but nothing really comes close. Dead Space lacks the paranoia of not trusting your companions, and the Necromorphs are just monsters, and not dynamic like the thing is in The Thing.

The concept is good but the execution is poor. The whole idea of fear in the setting of The Thing is the uncertainty, and the lack of dynamism in the game destroys that concept. At some point the game just decides that someone is the thing regardless of whether or not they can reasonably be. Maybe the Isolation team of Creative Assembly should make a proper Thing game.

No but there needs to be. Also while hollywood is busy jerking itself off with remakes 5 years after the originals come out when are they going to bring back body horror as a genre? I miss that shit so much. I think the last decent one i saw was slither.

yeah, it's far from perfect, but I still enjoyed it. CA taking a crack at it would be fantastic

Not really, The Thing was all about the creeping paranoia and not constantly shoving shit in your face. Dead Space games are all about shoving monsters in your face nonstop, monster closets nonstop.

Pathologic

I'm surprised the nobody posted the most obvious Thing.

There's only one game I know of that has the feeling that you can never trust anyone and that's Trouble in Terrorist Town. But if you want a game that's about being lost on a desolate antarctic base and there's something horrible there, you have the Penumbra games and the free Half-Life 2 mod Black Snow in which you are hunted by something that only lives in pitch black darkness and the game never gives you a flashlight.

maybe read the thread. Image posts aren't everything

Cool art but no. Dead Space is just a nerve wracking survival effort. Even though it's really good, it isn't in the same vein of horror.

STR - 10
INT - 1

COLD FEAR for the PS2 has good atmosphere. It ripped off RE4 but did thing different enough to now be a cult hit.
