Despite being a healer Mercedes is quite tanky. Not saying you should have her tank physical attacks but the amount of times I've seen her endure hits from powerful physical units is amazing. You can definitely use her as a magic tank, Ingrid as well can be a good magic tank if you choose to make her a pegasus knight. Maybe give them a pure water, then you can have them tank hits while taking little to no damage since pure water adds a fuck ton of res.

The Garreg Mach battle is kino on any route. Personally I'm a sucker for BL since the idea of a small, diminished rebellion slowly ass fucking a massive empire is always kino to me but BE has some pretty great scenes as well. With BE I always play the part of the antagonist, killing Flayn, Seteth, Claude and recruiting no former students.

While Edelgard might still not look much like a "good guy" or "hero" she'll retain this Julius Caesar vibe, which is enough for her to be a rootable protagonist.

If any route was going to involve Almyra it should have been GD. Honestly Nemesis should have been exclusive to the church route, Rhea having some random autism fit to justify one more map is the worst asspull in the game. GD should have ended with some Almyran invasion and Claude realizing its a shithole he needs to go fix while church has you settle the feud with Unga for the last time.

That was already the paralogue though, user's just making it into a full-fledged main story campaign instead

Plus, don't forget the Slithers are still working against you, even if you've got an 'alliance'. They'd be real quick to put the kibosh on any good PR Edelgard gets by nuking cities or sending out hordes of monsters or anything they can do.

If you never see that dialogue, or it doesn't stick with you, the BL ending cutscene with Edelgard feels like it comes out of nowhere.
