You can't outlevel area anymore because everything is scaled to 60 (pre TBC).
Just pick few areas you want to complete for story/achievement you miss and finish that area. You shouldn't outlevel it.

Not really, at that level in classic I already had corruption, agony and inmolate.

Which brings me to another point: they took base skills of classes and locked them behind specs it seems like. Inmolation is a destruction skill, you simply don't have it if you're affliction.

It has been pruned, I literally checked it and compared looking at what you learn in the spellbook.

Been in Stranglethorn Vale for a couple levels now from around 28 to 31 and have been understandably struggling to solo it a bit, but honestly pretty much everywhere else I have been is starting to look too easy. Finished all of Darkshire elites, could go back to redridge for elites, but this seems like an odd point where my normal quests are green and maybe yellow, but the elites are all red.
Do I really have to get a group together to do these quests, or am I supposed to just put up with getting less xp for Reasons?
Why would you even get less xp from a quest? Its a new experience no matter what level you are, and there are a set number of quests so it isn't as if someone could really abuse it to grind.
It just demotivates me from learning about the areas and just tempts me to blow through leveling with dungeons and maybe an elite here and there before abandoning the region forever.
There is such little middle ground in combat I am either overwhelmed by respawns pulling too many enemies or just cruising on autopilot blowing everything out of the water. Despite this they still make traveling obnoxious as even easily defeatable mobs will try (and fail) to attack me as I walk along the roads.

Not him, but the class/spec balace is by far the worst aspect of vanilla. Many talents and specs make no sense all together and that's after a few mini-revamps during its time. About leveling, I think the main problem is that at some levels there's lack of good quest hubs and there's some connections between zones that make no sense. In example, The Hinterlands, Feralas and Tanaris are connected by many quests, including dungeon quests. This leads you to travel a lot and potentially waste a lot of time if you're not aware of it.

Looking at WoW when it launched and at the very early stages of its life it doesn't seem like raiding was the big focus either.
I think Blizzard ultimately responded to both demand and facility. People prefered PvE over PvP, and designing raids from a developer stand-point is way easier than defining a PvP system with two asymmetrical factions and nine completely different classes and keep coming up with new entertaining modes and things to spice it up and keep people hooked up.

I would say that this happened quite early in classic already, perhaps with BWL. From there on, WoW was a PvE game. When it comes to PvP what did it came after the honor system? Barely nothing, and certainly nothing that mattered ot was well-liked until TBC.

From the start the progression structure was heavily centered around questing and instances. instances always offered the bigger rewards and raids are merely an extension of that.
Its also unrealistic to expect them to keep on pushing out tons of questing content as that is content that is essentially one and done. the game needed a way to keep player occupied at level cap and instances were the obvious pick.

I spent like 5 hours sunday ganking alliance in desolace. Just asking in general if anyone needed some alliance killed. Those cucks thought they were safe, trying to avoid stv. Legitimately wiped the same party doing the kodo escort 6 times, then camped people grinding centaur rep.

I always camped until they spirit res'd and hearthed. Even switched layers to make sure they couldn't get away.

I literally played on Cho'gall on live servers as Alliance. I've seen it bad. But it's never been this bad. Or maybe my patience is gone. Vanilla was already grindy enough, and getting gang banged at every single questing hub by groups of horde with no counter alliance groups is just frustrating.

I didn't think anything went wrong. I've been having a blast playing. Currently level 52 and just chillin in Arathi Highlands listening to the rain.

Not a single ghost. But I'm sure that if you spent the same amount of time in the game with more than 4-5 towns you would start to see ghost towns.
This also means that you cannot just walk around the city with a "walk around" button set up. If you want to use a "walk around" button you have to move your character somewhere and hold it down. This is very clunky to a person who isn't used to virtual life. Especially when you move you will almost always have the same position as your "walk around" button. This makes it almost impossible to move quickly and effectively. As a result you will start to feel like the game is not as "walking around" as it is supposed to be. This also means when moving you can either walk past people or you can sit and listen without being interrupted.

Okay, but good luck getting 40 people to walk there, getting your healers to pay attention to up their heals during enrage, stabilizing with battle rez after you lose someone vital (because why take any other healer besides Priest right?), doing below standard DPS with no valuable buffs/debuffs on hand, letting multiple drops per run stagnate because it doesn't fit your triangle meta's spread, and losing people over the few actually desirable drops because 1/3 of the raid is fighting over them.

Hunter is a bit comfier because they have nothing to fear from high level mobs due to no Parry/Dodge/Resists on their ranged attack tables and they get a whole pet taming and move acquiring sidegame to futz around with.

they're using the legion engine as a basis, which has probably grown to be dependent on resource-on-demand architectures and otherwise wouldn't be able to handle the server loads on affordable hardware

The point I was trying to make is the classes that zoomer was talking about don't "do more than all the other classes." They excel at one thing (2 if you're the warrior that can also tank) and that is it. You can't stack a single class and clear any content as any of those other classes. Also priest is just the de facto best healer in the game so they're also overpowered by virtue of this.

I leveled 30-35 and 40-42 in stv and I shit you not was only ganked twice, and both were while looking at quest dialogue and a short walk away from the graveyard.

I don't play feral in raids where that actually matters because I'm not a dumbass trying to theorycraft and waste my guild's time.

Maul is your best aggro move, but also your most costly since it both costs a good amount of rage and denies you a white attack to gain more from. Don't be afraid to use Enrage in combat especially this early on because the armor reduction will actually help your rage generation even further. Take Furor early so you can powershift for free rage whenever something stops paying attention to you and Growl is on cooldown. Drop your rejuvenation/regrowth on yourself before pulling for some easy off-the-bat healing aggro.

The exploit happened on Esfand's stream when his guild was abusing it and the blizzard employees in the chat gave him the okay to clear it again but then went on to say that people who abused it will be banned. So yeah, streamer privilege.
