I was really hoping there would be a sub species of Kulu Ya ku that would pull out rusted weapons. Like just imagine it digs into the ground, pulls out an ancient hammer or broadsword and has a few attacks where it kind of swings it in a way a hunter may. Feels like a missed opportunity.

Kulu is a tier 1 bottom of the food chain (amongst large monsters that is) monster like the dromes or ggis. They don’t get subs unfortunately.

To be fair that’s because Zorah was also it’s own environment that could rotate 90° at any moment dynamically, and the team decided that would be their first modern AAA project to work on after only doing portable games for the better part of a decade. Dalamadur wouldn’t take up nearly as much time or resources as Zorah, though it would still be a hell of a lot more than it took to make him on the 3DS.

Awesome design and music. When his fight works as intended, it’s a 10/10. When it doesn’t work it’s fucking awful. He’ll turn half the map into quicksand and spam tremor causing moves and snipe you with sound blasts and there’s literally nothing you can do about it. He needed some more time in the oven to nail out the bullshit parts of the fight because when he doesn’t pull that bullshit he’s excellent as far giant monsters in this series go, just as engaging as Gogmazios. I flirt between loving and despising Shara Ishvalda. The armour and weapons are fucking outstanding though.

I just reached seething bagel, bit disappointed that Velkhana was dealt with so swiftly and easily. Felt like a lot of build up for nothing, and now it seems to be going back to Nerg.
I've managed to reach unity level 6 in every area though so I'm gonna grind out the treasures. Also, I have hit around 40 SoS missions now and still don't even have the silver pendant, so fuck knows what's going on there.

Is this doable with HR gear ? I have seregios armor and brachydios weapons upgraded as much as I can for now

I had a dream I was being chased by Shara Ishvalda around my neighborhood. But then a giant gold crown Velkhana got into a turf war with it. Ishvalda lost, but it turned out it can't be truly killed, because upon death it reincarnates into a tiny larva hidden somewhere nearby. I had to find the larva, which also had immense healing factor of its own, and grind it into a paste and swallow it to stop it from regrowing back into the adult form.
106 days until January 2020.

In the regular Expeditions time sometimes passed causing the farm rotation to progress, and sometimes it didn't. I believe it had something to do with you encountering and/or hunting big monsters on an Expedition, but not necessarily with real time spent on Expedition, if you all you did was just gathering.

You can't beat a set that literally has every single offensive skill maxed out.

It pretty much replaces downing flying monster with flash pods since most MR flying monsters are immune to them now. Seems fair to me.
Also Diablos is now permanently vulnerable to sonic pods, since IIRC they have no effect when they're enraged in base World, which makes fighting (bullying) Diablos even more fun than before.

It doesn't have stuff like Agitator, Artillery, Offensive Guard etc.
I wish Agitator and other situational offensive skills provided better bonuses. I like how in Gen the cold/hot area specific attack boosts were viable for quests in those environments. Instead Agitator got nerfed in IB, when it was already pretty poor compared to just affinity stacking.

I don't think worldbabs understand just how fucking hard the powercreep was in vanilla World. You could make sets equivalent to or better than what you could make in previous G rank games even when stuff like empress beta and vaal gamma was relevant, drachen was just the final nail the coffin of that game's balance. And this was all before considering stuff like mantles and health augments.

Iceborne's sets could only end up either being just slightly better than the drachen meta, or rocketing into the stratosphere like frontier sets with literal dozens of armor skills.

That's something the director talked years ago. It's his philosophy of forcing the player to choose between the utility and looks of the armor sets, because he thinks too much freedom is bad for game design. Transomg in GU was something unprecedented, and possibly an oversight by the series director who was busy with World at the time, giving too much authority for the GU director.
Anyway, PC will have full transmog, even if the game doesn't officially support it.

It'e actually to accomodate mounting, clutch claw weakspots, sleepbombing, traps, turf war, environmental damage and damage dealt by other monsters on the map

It doesn't use the tentacles as tentacles. It's just "necks" for the pseudo heads. The monster itself is just charges and fires beams at you.
That said, a proper tentacle monster if not impossible would require a ton of effort to implement.

Why did no one tell me that you can simply gather some tracks in the Elder Recess to get Gold Rathian investigations, after unlocking her in the Guiding Lands? Finally farmed everything I needed for the CB and the LS and hit MR99.

Investigations of monsters endemic to Guiding Lands only give you regular monster parts used for crafting armor and weapons, but not the special Guiding Lands materials that used for weapon augmentation.

I know, but my goal was to craft the weapons and waiting for her to spawn in the Guiding Lands and fighting her in the arena after was so slow. I only fought her 4 times between MR74-MR96 (2 Guiding Lands, 2 Special Arena). I didn't now you could get investigations for her that easily.

I've played past games, and getting a charm with the skills you needed wasn't really hard. considering you didn't need sharpness 10, or tenderizer 5 and expert 4 with 3 slots on a charm for every set.

and for lack of gems, not hard to be lacking in proper gems, especially ones that are required for any actually strong set, like critical 2 or tenderizer 2.

not really, considering you could get upwards of 30 or so talismans from a single quest. compared to getting like, 5 gems from 1 quest.

It's actually very hard to be lacking in proper gems, because you'd be swimming if critical and tenderizers jewels soon enough, if you actually did the tempered investigations regularly. Unlike getting THE charm you need, because there's literally only one of those in the game which make your endgame set possible, and it competes with the other tens of thousands of useless charms in the tables for the appraisal spot.

Dodo is World's introduction to blast status if you weren't invaded by Bazel yet so it makes sense.
Realistically we'll probably see the usual LR/HR slide of old content. Then we'll get the new raptor and obligatory bird/flying low tier monster. If they don't go down the elder flagship route again they'll probably make a new leviathan since Fujioka and Ichihara were both talking about the leviathans coming back in MH6 being a focus.
I'm fully expecting Ludroth to come back new gen too when they bring back the leviathans so there's no reason to keep Jagras around. They can always have an Astera/Seliana caravan to bring back old armors too.
The real question is whether Fulgur or Normal Anja would survive going forward.

Nah, you get enough off normal elemental crit with Master's Touch to get by, assuming you have enough affinity to make it worth it. I think the cut off is 75%, then true razor sharp is a better gain, again you can mix in the 2 piece velkhana

In base world I caught all the rare endemic life like the great fish and the bristly crake without realizing that the endemic life and piscine researcher give you bounties to catch them if you talk to them.

Essentially I had to catch everything a second time and it was a pain in the ass. This time I want to make sure I've got all the bounties before I go endemic life hunting.

I got the Namielle beta set cause its cool as fuck but the skills seem lackluster, what weapons compliment it and what skills should I gem into it. I just want to make the most out of the set.

I want to grind Shara but the quest doesn't seem to come up very often, I know it's weighted to higher hr/mr but in about 10 in game hours the quest has only come up once, and I missed the first of two fight chances because I straight up didn't notice the notif or the music

I've been SOS'ing it with nip and gook randoms. I usually can break his face twice if I get someone to help me focus on his face instead of focusing on his hind legs.

Element is still the best option for bow.
Anja is the best fire bow so fully upgrade that, velk bow is good for ice.
Zinogre is probably the best lightnng bow but I'm not there yet.

The only thing the game needs are more end game event quests the give out Layered Armor materials as a reward for dedicated players. I really like some of the Low/High Ranked armor designs more then some current MR ones, so getting Layered variants of those "Out of Print" armors would be nice.

lvl 4 x/attack gems are fairly common. Lvl 4 x/expert are probably better but fairly common as well. Now, double lvl 2 or lvl 3 skills are what rare or expert + 4 is fairly rare as well.

Portable 3rd still had the best farm. Everything had its own separate facility, though it was also random the quantities you got of anything unless you used an item to multiply it. Still I never had to worry about running out of anything with it. Plus it had the best Palico training alternatives. I wish they brought it all back.

If it has weeds or vines in front of it that's just for monsters to come in and out. The blocked off paths have logs and boulders in front of it in the Vale, and the Forest. One heads towards the mountain at the center while another just goes straight on. There's also another area that looks like you can hop down from in the Coral/Forest transition with a honey up top opposite the honey drop on the nest side.

It's not bad. I'm using it for the monsters with the most pain in the ass elemental hitzone or multi-monsters hunt that I don't feel like switching weapons around. Blast feels like it is in a better spot in MR compared to HR probably. Elemental sns probably still deals the most optimal dps, especially in end game, against monster weak to that respective element though unless there's some really good blast build end game. However, at the point in the game that you can get the final version of brachy's sns, it's pretty good.
Due to existence of perfect rush with its elemental bonus, it's probably easier to build elemental SnS now. Pre-iceborne SnS meta was stuck in some awkward purgatory between physical and elemental due to falling shield bash being the best but really unreliable DPS option.

Seething bazel is not as bad for blademaster compared to regular bazel. Sure seething has his own challenge but he is more honest. His scale only falls during his move instead of falling off randomly like HR bazel. HR bazel would drop scale completely random, when he flies, run, standing still, or even after getting tripped and flailing on the ground

Well Speedrun autism have damage calculation and planned out knock down timing along with multiple attempts so they can RNG monsters to not knock them down during clutch ZSD attempt. You might not find as much success as them in an average hunt but idk, I don't even play SA.

Maybe your mean DPS will go down if you're using pierce HBG, but rolling away from slow detonating bombs is by no means exclusive to blademasters. It's not like that alone would fuck over the gunners. The fight still favors them heavily over blademasters, just not AS heavily as regular Bazel.

See, that's where the issue lies. We can wish for our favorites return all we want, but the harsh cold truth is - they have to meet the certain criteria to be able to do that. And that criteria is - they have to be endgame monsters, since post-release DLC have to provide something for the players who have already cleared the game at this point, and are grinding their way through endgame content. Rajang satisfies that requirement. As do Elder Dragons.
But that's the reason why lower tier monsters can't be in post-release updates. You just don't hunt Blangonga before you hunt Rajang. If Rajang comes first, Blangonga would be a downgrade.
And there are no "super" monsters left with Rajang and Jho already in World. So unless they introduce some new monsters using the old skeletons (like a super mega crab or something), then they probably won't even be porting those skeletons to the 5th gen at all.
Although, I guess since Zin is a post-game monster, sort of, they could potentially put some more flagship tier subspecies or rare species into post-release updates.

I think we won't see variants for already existing monsters, because of the way the weapon upgrades work. Subspecies usually get a new branch (the Raths and B. Diablos are an exception) so I think that could be a possibility. But it would need to be something that is at least on par with Rajang and possibly Furious Rajang.

Crit boost is hardly worth shit over just base attack damage buff, user. The weapons with -Affinity are designed to hit harder to compensate for the difference in negative crit potential, but skills like Crit Draw already take priority over the -Affinity, so you'll still land a critical hit 100% of the time on a draw attack. So yes, thanks for clearing up this is your first MH game for thinking -Affinity is in any way a relevant "nerf" to most builds that would use them.

A Xeno variant seems likely imo, considering his weapons just stop in HR and his field guide description is still just ‘RESEARCHING’. Unless that’s a story hook for MH6 and they intend to have more continuity between games going forward. It wouldn’t surprise me since Iceborne’s story doesn’t answer any of the mysteries raised in World not does it answer any of it’s own, like what the fuck Shara Ishvalda was even doing.
