If they put in a minimal ilvl then those people will only get the low level dungeons. Making the high level dungeons hard to que for because no one can queue for said high level dungeons.

The same way people are cheesing their ilvl for Alliance roulette where all you'll get it LoTA or ST.

Give people ilvl385 gear for free when they reach 70. Create an NPC that gives it to you and force a notification telling players where to get the gear.

What are you looking for, specifically?
Big hats will be available to you throughout the entire game. Robes can be hit or miss, but I found dyeable AF3 is closest to the vivi look, and works well with the kudzu hat of casting. Your AF1 striped pants should serve you well pretty much forever if you dye them right, and they work well with shoes you get from ridorana lighthouse. The whole dwarven set at 78 is pretty great if you don't mind the beard.

I'm fairly sure that you can block attacks from behind now. Dodging isn't a separate thing but is rather just the enemy missing its attack due to level differences, enemies of equal level never miss as far as I know.

The pacing was god awful, writing quality suffered majorily aside from one or two zones, and some generally boring dungeons. A lot of the trimmings are still good, don't get me wrong, but the flow of the story, pacing, and quality of writing really tanked by comparison to Heavensward's. The characters were a prime example, your primary antagonist as well as ally are both plot devices devoid of any agency or character beyond "ME DO THING!"

The story is crappy. Splitting the plot across two separate locations makes both sides feel rushed and underdeveloped. There are very few likable characters and you do not feel like liberating these countries is something you need or want to do. Zenos is a boring antagonist with the depth of a puddle. Kugane is pretty but it has no relevance to the plot at all, it's just a stopping point and not even part of the countries that you're liberating. You don't even get to see any other parts of Hingashi.

I had a situation like this with Titan Hard back when that was actually somewhat challenging content, keep in mind that was when darklight gear was some of the best shit. We got him to down to 5% or so and all that was left was a white mage, a fucking dragoon and me the warrior tanking. Things happen and the dragoon and the healer died. I managed to avoid certain death thanks to Holmgang, then the healer died after healing me up again, but now it was on cooldown and his landslide attack was coming up again, it was over. The boss was around or below 1% now and everyone was already lamenting my death in chat and accusing each other of being gay and bad. The landslide bar appears and starts to fill up quickly, I activate my cross calls skill featherfoot and actually dodge the attack, kill him and drop the axe of crags, group chat goes crazy, fun times.

Omega was the one who captured Shinryu. The forcefield around it has Omega's face design, and Omega in his raid says that he realized Shinryu wasn't actually strong enough to be worth his time so he just trapped it and left to go set up the Omegascape.

The fact that players didn't care about liberating Ala Mhigo was a failing of Stormblood's writing rather than of the location itself. Think about Heavensward. Everyone absolutely loves Ishgard. Yet when you first meet the Ishgardians in ARR, they are absolute cunts. They are uncooperative, rude, and think of themselves as better than you. You definitely don't feel like helping them. But then you meet Haurchefant, and Aymeric, and Estinien, and Count Fortemps and by the time you're done you would die for Ishgard.

That's what Stormblood was lacking, it didn't give you a personal emotional connection to Ala Mhigo or the resistance. The Ala Mhigan people are assholes the whole way, and the few Ala Mhigan characters who are meant to be your personal link are either unlikable and fall flat, or don't get enough/any decent emotional moments. People ended up feeling more connection with fucking Ilberd than characters like Lyse or Raubahn.

In the end I think Ala Mhigo was something the writers just didn't care about doing, it was something they had to get out of the way to push through to more important parts of the story, and they just wanted to get it over with. They probably didn't think they could make an Ala Mhigo expansion compelling by itself, and I'd bet that a lot of the staff were themselves just not interested in the location and a lot more keen to work on asian-themed stuff.

What if I want to just play through the story content, which already takes an absurd amount of time to go through, without using even more of my time repeating dungeons just so I can save you like a 3 minute difference in completion time?
If I only have like 2 hours to play the game a day I'm not spending over 45 of those minutes repeating content to get poetics which get me gear that will become completely worthless as long as I continue the MSQ and Job quests.

I liked SB over HW overall, the story felt a little more grounded compared to HW. Given it didn't feel as epic as HW did, besides the final boss and Doma Castle/Ala Mhigo Dungeon. But we are talking whole Expansions right? As much as I loved the Dragonsong War and the Warrior of Darkness story line, nothing of HW ever came close to Requiem for Heroes or that Sadu Instance.

I heard emperor's new fists look kinda bad on MNK. What's a better alternative if all I want is to look like monk Galuf? Makai fists worth it?

Just do the story. You're not missing out on anything. Every expansion is a hard reset on progression so you can just keep pushing through and ignore all the gearing stuff that was set up in previous expacs. Crafting/gathering is really more of a sideshow rather than a critical part of the game, but it is still worth doing if you are interested imo.

BRD is great for a former healerfag. None of that weaponskill rotation shit

Emperor's New Fists look fine. Some people don't like the empty handed weapons because in the idle stance your fingers are still slightly open like you're holding something. This goes for all weapons which are empty handed like the Makai Fists. But you don't even notice this in normal play and also Monk makes actual fists for their attack animations anyway.

If you're only concerned with completing story content, then you don't have to worry about gear because the MSQ quests literally hand you gear for free as you level, so you'll never be undergeared for the current dungeon. So the scenario you're using as an excuse for being undergeared isn't even valid.
Being undergeared is a problem when you start leveling alternate jobs outside of the MSQ, where you should be doing roulettes anyway for the fastest exp rates, which give you poetics you should be spending on gearing up those jobs for new dungeons.

Lahabrea was dead and Emet-Selch doesn't get off his ass unless he absolutely has to, so he took it on himself. He should have gone the Emet-Selch route though and tried to recruit WoL as he implied the very first time we met him.

Class pick doesn't matter, you can be every class on one single character. Just level whatever you want for now, then pick up the others later.

Try every class and find the one you like the most.
You can easily change classes in the game with a simple click, just have to unlock them first (all you have to do is go to each class hall and talk to a guy).

I don't understand why they have to make the original council member match your gender. Ardbert is also a shattered piece like the WoL but his gender doesn't change.

Probably something like the more shattered pieces rejoined to the original soul the more like the original person it starts to resemble.

The Warring Triad weren't tempering people through their containment. Sophia had people pre-tempered before she was contained so that they would break her out later to cause as much damage as possible. And Zurvan was already breaking through his containment which is how he was getting Regula's people.

Use your fairy skills constantly when the tank is taking damage
Aetherpact is gay
Sacred Soil is low cooldown for 10% damage reduction, really good
Excog is your best friend, best single target heal you have
Once you get the OGCD to make your next heal crit, use it on either Adlo or Excog depending on situation, either way it's like 60% of a tank's health bar

I enjoy when I get seething tells from other Crafters, it doesn't seem to happen much though

To add to this, SCH is a lot less reliant on patching up big damage like WHM, and more on mitigating the damage before it happens (like with its fairy skill, sacred soil, and shields), so it benefits from knowing when big damage is gonna come out so you can mitigate it for the tank and then go back to DPSing while the tank has a shield or Excog on them.

Keep in mind that you get a lot of trash tanks for leveling dungeons, especially now since people want the mount to level up all the jobs to 80

Here's some advice to make your pull less painful.
-Prepull with Adlo and Excog on the tank
-Sacred Soil is your best friend during big pulls
-Use Aetherpact, it's the strongest regen in the game
-Keep your tank targeted while you spam Art of War to keep an eye on its HP
-If their HP get low really quickly don't just spam adlo, rather do Adlo > Physick > Adlo > Physick etc
-Whispering Dawn is also your best friend

Like ast you get stances. But you're required to stance dance to get access to your better healing options. Your big heal spells get both shielding and regen if you've been dancing between your smaller heals/attacks . Two charges of Phoenix down and they go out instantly. Your ogcds are a panic big heal and mitigation cooldowns. Actions have no cast time but the effects happen 2.5 seconds after button is pushed

They didn't patch the stone, patch 4.4 fucked up a lot of movement skills and changed how they're processed so you can't do a lot of tricks like that anymore.

They were never trying to make healers "heal" more dumb fuck. How is this still a thing months later? They were trying to reduce the dichotomy between shield healer and regen healer. That's what they meant by pure healing.
They gave healers even more off globals and whm a damage refund for healing. Healers heal a lot and DPS a lot, just like they have been for the past 4 years when people realized you don't have to stand around with a stick up your ass fishing for freecure.
