It has its flaws but damn I really liked the ending, and pretty much everything leading up to it. The overall chillin with bros vibe. After the incredible disappointment that was KH3's ending, I feel like this is exactly what I needed. Actual resolution. Fuck the haters FFXV was great. Maybe it's cause I only played the Royal Edition but I really had fun the whole time. Plus there's so much postgame shit to do.
The ending was shit and so was everything leading up to it.
Ethan Gutierrez
The OG XV seemed liked it was going to be KH wanted to be without all the retarded Disney elements, but nope we get a half baked game with no emotional payoff.
Brandon Morales
Low taste faggot. You should feel sorry for Noctis that not only was his in game fate a raw deal but so was the unfinished turd of a game full of broken promises that he was wasted on. So much wasted fucking potential in that "game".
Levi Watson
It was good tho.
>Ardyn gets what he wants >Noctis saves the world >Luna and Noct together forever in the afterlife >bros get to stop living in darkness
It wraps shit up neatly. Combat wise the game could've been better but I had a hell of a lot more fun than kh3
Benjamin Foster
I really enjoyed FFXV when I first played it too, but in retrospect it's not a very good game at all.
Landon Thomas
Name a good game if you're gonna be a contrarian nigger
Jaxson Edwards
Yeah the combat of XV is irrefutably superior to QTE3.
Jose Baker
I too really loved it immediately after playing it. Just don't think too much about it and let those feelings stay
I never followed FFXIII Versus or anything after. I've played most FF games, would I hate this is much as you guys do?
Jaxson Ward
I mean they'll probably go away in time, but it's genuinely been a while since I played a game that made me sit and take in the ending for a bit without it needing some gay ass twists and convoluted plot line to shock the player. This was simple as shit but executed well at the very end and the beginning, even if the middle was a bit muddy at points.
Luis Morris
For me there were extreme highs and lows. I really love the game that could have been under a competent director though, so it has a special place in my heart. It's simple, stupid shit. Going through the photos you've saved right before the final fight? Kino. Going through them again right after that fight. Stupid. Big beautiful world to explore? Great. Being toured across it by chapter 4, taking away the sense of exploration for the next six chapters? Wasted potential. Ignis had a dope DLC though.
Wyatt Lopez
>I liked it until Yea Forums told me not to
John Cook
You're getting shat on but I understand the sentiment. It wasn't an appalling game, the story was unfinished but didn't feel broken by any means. And after you beat it, it slowly starts dawning on you just how many missed opportunities the game had. And then you realize, wait that combat wasn't good at all.
Hudson James
>Playing FFXV in current year FFXV is a shitty game and you will realize it when you reflect back on it and continue to see the mistakes build ontop itself. FFXV is a game that gets worse the more you think back on it.
Charles Gray
>After the incredible disappointment that was KH3's ending
Hi Barry. You just had to slip that stab at KH3 didn't you?
Oliver Robinson
Yeah, I think the ending had an impact on me so my takeaway of the game was that I liked it. I had a similar experience with Xenoblade 2. But then I looked back and realized that I only really had fun during cool story setpieces and some bosses. The dungeons, quests, and overworld were very bland. I went back to play it a few months ago and really didn't enjoy myself.
Josiah Phillips
I waited until this year to play it, an its a 10/10 top 3 FF's of all time (behind 6 and 7) IF: >You watch the King's Glaive movie and >Watch the 8 episode anime series before starting the game >Then play all three main DLC, Episode Gladiolus, Episode Prompto, and Episode Ignis as they come up in the story. I feel bad for the people that played it at release and didn't watch the movies or anime. The game throws you into this world and expects you to care about these characters without giving them any background or context, and the start of the game with "Stand By Me" playing is so saccharine it's almost laughable. Without the DLC or the background media its like a 3/10. But yeah, if you play the whole thing, with all the DLC+extra content, by the end "Stand By Me" won't seem like saccharine bullshit at all.
Before anyone says a game shouldn't need DLC to become great. Plenty of well-regarded games, especially RPGs were only mediocre until their expansions. BG2 and NWN2 being notable examples.
Literally all it has going for it are the graphics and a couple of characters and a few parts of the story. The actual gameplay mechanics, variation in items (lol at shit just being a glowy spark on the ground in this era), lack of weapon skins and outfits/armor are inexcusable. If it didn't have Final Fantasy in it's name it would have got 6 or 7/10 at best and nobody would be talking about it.
Nolan Reed
>Big beautiful world to explore The world was visually neat but the general lack of civilization and the fact that traversal feels like shit + terrible offroad car controls made me not want to explore it.
Mason Moore
Just wait until 2035 when it gets rebooted with its actual story.
Oliver Williams
KH3s ending was fucking an underwhelming as hell. I don't hate the game by any means but 6+ years of buildup for that shit felt more like a kick to the nuts than FFXV. I went into XV with low expectations and while it wasn't a perfect game, it was certainly more memorable. The only thing that can redeem KH3 is KH4.
Nah I don't think I'll feel that way in time. I got to Insomnia when it released and never finished it, replayed the game this month and beat it cause Royal edition was cheap. The original enjoyment was still there this time around, so if it hasn't disappeared after 2-3 years it's not going away imo.
Jackson Turner
I agree the game is better with DLC, but you're hugely overexaggerating how much of a difference it makes. For it to jump from a 3/10 to a 10/10 is fucking ridiculous and makes it clear that you're putting WAY too much emphasis on story and ignoring the fact that FFXV's gameplay is half-baked as fuck.
Carter Myers
I also enjoyed the ending, but I think one of the coolest things in FFXV was the Pitioss Ruins, but only when paired with the fan theories about it being an allegory for Ifrit's fall from grace.
Ethan Reed
That might be it. I watched Kingsglaive before I replayed it and did all the DLCs too. Didn't watch Brotherhood or play Comrades but I feel like as a whole, it all ties together nicely enough to feel like a genuine adventure.
The combat could've used a ton of work but there's DMC if I want top notch combat.
Logan Baker
I honestly hope they do because my rage about FFXV is 99% due to the fact that they just let what could have been something truly great get released as a completely unfinished turd.
Robert Baker
>not riding chocobos into the sunset
I think I used the regalia maybe four times the whole game outside of mandatory parts
Gabriel Wright
All I felt when I beat it was profound relief. I did get some tingles from the last moments, but 99% of what I enjoyed? Was added post launch via DLC with the royal edition. Had I played it on release I would've been fucking furious
>The individual DLC chapters were meh, with Ignis' being the best purely because of how Ignis carried it, Beef McLargeHuge being OK as a monster mash, and Prompto's being absolutely egregious due to boring gameplay that didn't work with the engine END being forced to endure prompto >the story has major hiccups and you can feel the spots where large pieces of PLOT were cut out >Fantasy Venice is where it all starts to go downhill as they ran out of time and fucking sprint towards the finish >which is just as well because by that time the combat has gotten monotonous as all fuck >it's slightly improved by Ultra Instinct mode you get from the statue after collecting all the dragon balls - I mean, royal arms - but that too is fucking DLC >as the game races to fucking end itself it cuts out huge chunks of characterization and plot >Chad Rocketdick is the worst friend >Ignis is the best >Prompto is clearly just a cocksleeve they keep around It did atmosphere, ambiance, and music excellently but overall it was just a rushed, unfinished product which is hilarious considering it was in development for a decade Don't even (you) me about the supplementary stuff like the anime or movie, if you need shit outside of the game to support your game's core experience, you have failed.
Kayden Diaz
That was a really cool puzzle dungeon, frustrating but cool
Ryan Allen
Where was that area?
What's so "unfinished" about it? I didn't get that vibe at all.
Julian Baker
Looking back, it's hard for me to think of an RPG with a story as disjointed and strange as FFXV's.
I don't mean "strange" as in "weird crazy shit happens," I mean "strange" as in the pacing is so all over the place that the game feels almost like a fever dream. Things just happen without explanation, characters are introduced and barely seen again, plotlines are hinted at but never expanded upon. It made the game's story feel as inscrutable as something like Souls, except it lacked all the pieces necessary to actually understand everything, so it just leaves you feeling like you had your head stuck in a washing machine for five hours.
Weirdly, for me at least, the story had a sort of unsettling aftertaste as a result. Like I was playing through a beta version of a game that I shouldn't have been allowed to see. This actually worked in favor of the game's final act, which WAS unsettling and sad, though I don't know how much of that sadness was due to the strength of the story and how much was due to my disappointment at all the wasted potential.
Did anyone else experience anything like this when first playing FFXV? Just a feeling of general unease and melancholy? Or am I just weird?
Xavier Green
>the story was unfinished but didn't feel broken by any means. I only played the Royal edition and the story was still a disjointed mess. It's the worst kind of open world idiocy where being open world apparently mandates that every story segment is completely disconnected from the previous one and involves a few lines of what you're doing now before you set off.
Christian Foster
I've never played an ff before this one but the story felt really abrupt. there was no smooth transitions between any story points and all the characters (besides the gang) got no character development whatsoever. ardyn didn't interact with noctis enough to make their final encounter make sense emotionally. most of the side quests were boring outside a few like the behemoth quest. kingsglaive and the anime didn't make the father son relationship meaningful. the boss fights were complete clusterfucks. the summons were neat but having them be random is stupid. the car rides and bro moments were neat though.
Caleb Butler
So you liked the ending where the entire world suffered in darkness for 10+ years, only to bringthe "hero" back to save the day and kill him off so he can be reunited with the bitch that got pretty much zero screen time, cause her story was cut from the game, that got turned into a prospective DLC release which ended up getting cancelled along with the rest of the missing content, leaving us with no reason to even care about the woman?
I'm guessing you're thrilled for FFVII:R...
Jose Lewis
Pitioss Ruins are a secret mega-dungeon you can only access post game with the flying regalia upgrade parts you get for doing the optional imperial bases. It's different from every other dungeon in that it's actually one long platforming puzzle. And when I say LONG I fucking mean it. It does some really cool stuff with perspective, but it's a fucking slog, and all you get at the end is an EXP boosting ribbon This, honestly. Though, a lot of plot important stuff does get revealed - in the character bio section. That you need to go through 2 layers of menu to access. and the game doesn't tell you when it updates
Gavin Hernandez
Oh that's true. Fuck everything that game has fallen out of my head except the music and that time you get to fight a fucking huge lobster.
What world to explore? The world is just desert on the eastern section, a crater in the middle, and grass everywhere else. All but a few areas you're taken to as part of the plot and there's nothing special or interesting about the remaining areas. And the world is fucking empty with nothing to do in it except pick up blue sparkles because they somehow thought that was more appealing than opening chests, or doing hunts which are just boring and also needlessly restricted to a few at a time.
Justin Perry
You act like this is any less retarded than 90% of video game stories
Jose Foster
yeah, 90% of my play experience was just auto-car riding from one spot to another to fight designated monsters. Which I guess made the game a good mindless grind to pass time with.
Austin Foster
Pacing and story telling in that game were so bad that i couldn't care by the end of it, the last campfire scene was good but the final boss and ending were just meh. KH3 > FFXV
Owen Campbell
>KH3 > FFXV honestly it's a toss up, both were pretty terrible for the same obvious reasons
Jaxon James
??? This is actually fairly common, it's called hindsight
Colton Ramirez
It's more retarded than 90% of other Final Fantasy stories
Elijah Collins
>KH3 >any semblance of pacing whatsoever
Kill yourself lmao
Literally nothing happens until the last world
Christian Cook
The point of Pitioss is to tell Ifrit's story. All the items you get are pointless in endgame and are there to tell more of his story more than as a reward to the player.
Jason Garcia
I prefer KH3 for its gameplay, story wise they both disappointed. Should've made that more clear
Blake Fisher
>MUH CRYSTALS x6 >uhh some eco terrorists and then uhhh sephiroth is a clone maybe? >WE WERE ALL IN AN ORPHANAGE TOGETHER LOL >DUDE YOURE A NUKE NOT A MONKEY LMAO >I see dead people
12 is the only non shit story
Lincoln Cox
I don't have to disagree with any of this, because I didn't say the other stories were good, I just said 15 was worse.
Lincoln Perez
The fact that there was so much imagery crossover between the series makes me think Nomura was just failing at trying to reach some vision in his mind.
And it's like, he knows how he wants his characters, what sort of emotional highs they should hit, and he likes to wrap that all in a sort of melancholy and dread that I'm like yeah, that's some guilty pleasure shit.
But that's just bullet points. The finished project is just so bad and confusing, pumped full of that $E money with fantastic music and visual direction, that it tricks people into thinking there is some merit - and they will use those bullet points in doing so. But it's still a fucking turd mountain, just covered with gold paint.
As a writer and creator I can't help but fear that's how my work will become.
Kh3s gameplay was somehow even more press x to win brain dead nonsense than ff15 what the actual fuck
The only good thing about that shitpile was gummi ship battles. It also had zero good songs besides Baymax world and pirate world.
Leo Nelson
wrong
Aiden King
FFXV's boss design didn't really work for me. Aranea and Bahamut (+rematches) in Comrades were the only ones i remember fondly. KH3 bosses especially with the upcoming DLC are going to blow XV out of the water.
Eli Morgan
That's how it felt to me, like I was playing something just empty and weird and ultimately depressing. The final nail in the coffin for me was the endgame, realising that, yes I could go back in time to do side quest shit, but its literaly just a dream, can't change fate and Noctis is as good as dead so what's the point. The fact they made a lot of the endgame actually post-game just ruined the whole vibe for me.
Nathan Hernandez
retard posting
Justin Parker
I really liked the Ifrit boss fight, but that's the only one.
Zachary Brooks
what? ardyn didn't get what he wanted, neither did noctis, it was a bad ending, the world was immesurably fucked and comrades goes to great lengths to explain just how fucked everything is
Owen Sullivan
This is quite an apt description. And the disjointedness of it certainly isn't helped by how all the side content is frontloaded in the first half and then the second half is all story which still feels disconnected and rushed anyway.
Henry Kelly
Huge world with nothing in it, no signs of heavy industry or farming to support a huge fucking city out near the desert. The open world actually ruined the immersion for me because it there was literally nothing there that could feasibly sustain a town nevermind a city or small nation.
Matthew Edwards
Probly not. It has enough RPG elements and side content/freedom to make it more than just a generic action game. The story is presented well even if it has some rough patches, the main story is shorter and less bloated than 13 1 and 2.
Dylan Morgan
except it's all inference, Pitioss doesn't 'tell' any story, it's a long plotless platforming dungeon. You need to have a good grasp of Ifrit's story already to understand and contextualize the imagery shown
Henry Gomez
the worst part is early on you see hints and suggestions they planned for much more stuff, like the ruins left behind from the last war, but they left it all by the wayside
Ryan Williams
If you don't mind giving up battle system, magic or any of the gimmick yet fun time sink systems (e.g. materia, sphere grid, jobs) that the other FF games have then you might enjoy it. Just pretend it's not a FF game.
Jason Gomez
That bothered me too. There are like two different farms with only a few plots each and that's it. And yet you have all these petrol stations that in-universe aren't even five minutes away from each other on the same road, which is just fucking retarded, when it's not like there are any other routes to take or stops to make. It's an open world that's simultaneously too big and too small.
Christian Lee
>The story is presented well even if it has some rough patches user please, the horrible presentation of the story is by far the biggest problem with it.
Luis Myers
>no sneaky beaky spy-esque date with Luna around Altissia and possibly in the Royal Vessel I am still mad. They hamfisted their love story into our throats and made it seem like a larger part of the game over the boys' relationship and what we get is a cheap aerith-death ripoff. I felt a lot more sad when I saw Ignis tripping and missing shit in Cartanica's mines.
Brandon Foster
I also forgot, it would have been very nice to have dreamworld sequences where Noctis sees possible futures just like how Regis saw shit as he touched the Crystal. It may have been during Lestallum, Ramuh's Trial, Altissia, and finally as Noctis got absorbed by the Crystal. I know this is asking much but goddamn if only their production time was actually 10 years instead of rushjob 2 years.
Asher Ross
>petrol stations that in-universe aren't even five minutes away from each other on the same road
It's like real life
Nathan Adams
>I felt a lot more sad when I saw Ignis tripping and missing shit in Cartanica's mines. on the one hand that was very sad, on the other watching him dive around and wave his cane ineffectively was fucking hilarious
Jordan Rogers
I liked the Toy Story world's battle music, but you're right otherwise.
>Ramuh's Trial wander to 3 points on chocobo and do a small dungeon excellent thank you Ramuh I feel purified
Logan Hill
KH3 had some good moments, mostly the juxtaposition between disney characters and the anime ass shit going on.
>Woody tells the villain to fuck off >Sully teleporting behind Evil McBad and fucking suplexing him through a door hilarious shit
Matthew Cox
Not in any city I've ever been, but I haven't been to America.
Nathaniel Diaz
And Gladio being a bitch was jarring. Lmao Yeah it felt very cheap compared to Titan or Tidemother's trial. Hell even Ifrit's "trial" felt better because Insomnia was burning and his trial had you quell the fire.
Bentley Morgan
Is there porn of the doll boss yet?
Blake Stewart
It's pretty common in america to have gas stations only like 1 or 2 blocks away from each other, in more urban regions. Once you hit the country side things spread out and there'll be huge stretches of nothing
Cameron Butler
I'd be very surprised if Japan wasn't on it Day 1.
Liam Anderson
yeah sometimes they're across the road from each. weird though how one tends to be dirtier and where certain "folks" go to
Josiah Rivera
actually he got what he wanted, he got his revenge and now the lucis bloodline is no more.
Logan Reed
>>Noctis saves the world Lol pawn of gods """"save"""" the world
Jordan Stewart
Ardyn got what he wanted yes, the line of Lucis is ended - but Noctis successfully cleanses the world of Demon Aids and humanity is given a new dawn
Angel Morgan
nah not really as the gods cant interfere with the human realm and they cant cleanse the world with the demon aids themselves thats why they need a true king to be all and end all with the cost of his life
Nathaniel Johnson
Ardyn was also a pawn, as his rise - and fall - were all preordained by prophecy. It's very Paradise Lost - he imagines himself free, bu in fact he is not, and dances to the tune of fate as user says. Ardyn was always destined to be the darkener, as Noctis was always destined to be the True King and to stop him. There's a lot of judeo-christian biblical underpinnings here.
Joshua Jenkins
>disliking the game everyone dislikes makes you a contrarian If anything that's you.
Logan Reyes
LAMO!! He couldn't think of any game.
Landon Clark
Glad to see everyone shitting on this garbage game.
>Kh3s gameplay was somehow even more press x to win brain dead nonsense than ff15 are you retarded? Kh3 at least didn't have a completely busted item/consumable system, kh3 didn't have a completely busted mechanic that one shots literally everything (the ring in xv), kh3 actually had a few boss fights that were fun and well designed, kh3 actually used its weapon switching for nice combos cause it didn't suffer from the Hold O ravager animations of XV, KH3 actually patched in a harder difficulty and kh3 is a thousand times more complete, coherent experience than XV. Fuck you.
I wish they focused more budget on the actual storyline instead of the dozens of sub quests which I didn't bother doing because they were redundant and boring as it usually involves kill x amount or find x item.
They tried to patch the holes in the story with FFXV comrades and all the DLCs (which never technically got finished because Tabata quit). I guess it's better than nothing.
I'm just glad that I sorta got a complete version rather than day one buying this game. Because I would be pissed off If I had to buy a season pass and have to watch movies just to understand more of the story. In fact, they are finishing the story of the game with some novel or something.
Austin Sanchez
Ending was trash. World of ruin is one huge disapointment. Also fuck all dlc, so lazy they can't even be bothered to integrate it into the story. I know square can do better because DQ11 was everything that I wanted from a FF game.
Josiah Phillips
>FFXV comrades and all the DLCs (which never technically got finished because Tabata quit) this honestly disappointed me, potentially adding an alternate ending would've shut a lot of people up, and the last update they were talking about doing was letting you add your Comrades character to the main campaign party.
Cameron Nelson
>kh3 didn't have a completely busted mechanic that one shots literally everything Ralph one shots everything. youtube.com/watch?v=1n0CqFioTnk Alterna on the other hand is reliant on RNG because it's about chance not a guarantee. >kh3 actually had a few boss fights that were fun and well designed One which was reused assets from 0.2. XV has more than a few: Behemoth, Quetzcoatl, Jourgamund, Aranea, Yojimbo, Ardyn, Daemon Ravus, Omega, etc > kh3 actually used its weapon switching for nice combos There's no practical reason to switch weapons mid-combo you lying cunt. Your webm is just some autist trying to look cool. I've seen you spamming those before, find better material. >cause it didn't suffer from the Hold O If you tap O you have full manual control over the finisher, you seem clueless about how XV actually works. >kh3 is a thousand times more complete XV over 15 unique weapons types and movesets KH3 has barely 6 unique weapon types and movesets XV has directional inputs KH3 has none KH3 only only 10 unique looking places mostly empty coridoors with nothing to do XV a whole world with over 12 unique looking dungeons place 6 unique regions on top of that with actual exploration
>XV over 15 unique weapons types and movesets And all of them are just holding circle
Ryan King
did your boys die at the end
James Jenkins
Ok so you literally didn't play it. Mechanically they all function uniquely with different actions, attacks, warpstrikes, directionals, combos, manuals finishers etc, gun directional lets you dodge roll while shooting and changing direction, stop making shit up. KH3 is so utter shit that there are barely any weapon types without reused assets copy-pasted and most of them are useless.
Glad you enjoyed it and saw the light. FFXV is for high IQ people who know what friendship and comradery mean in a man's life. And this game is the best videogame ever created that depicts this perfectly. Not suitable to the Twitch zoomers who's only friends are the ones they donate to and waifufags virgins.
Kevin King
Damn. I beat the game in like 25 hours, went and got the ultimate weapon shit from the quests, and then couldn't justify spending another second playing Cup-Noodles XV.
Joseph Bell
You are so fucking devoid of any valid argument you actually think if you post some random steam screenshot that you can somehow get your way. You're a fucking retard who is too much of a pussy to admit that you were too retarded to understand directional inputs on different weapon types, offering back flips, sidesteps, charges, self launches etc, aerial combos from different weapon types, manual weapon switching, airsteps, aerial dodges, recoveries, attack cancelling through blink dodges, dodge roll, guard stance that consumes MP, shield blocks for proper timing based blocks that can stagger enemies, magic, etc. Don't shit on the game because you're too stupid to learn how to play it.
>FFXV is for high IQ people who know what friendship and comradery mean in a man's life I have both IRL. This game depicts neither well. This is to real friendship what Disney movies are to real romance.
Grayson Carter
>I beat the game If you didn't beat omega or naglfar, MA-X angelus, Cor, Bahamut, Ifrit, level 120 aranea , Cerberus, the fierce, the rogue, the mystic, quetzcoatl, dread behemoth, nagarani, red giant then you didn't beat the game, retard.
You have no proof beating any of those. Fuck off tranny
Directional inputs don't fucking matter, all of the game is flair that means nothing to the actual gameplay, you can do whatever the fuck you want but it won't be any better than holding circle, and anything that holding circle doesn't work on you can instantly nuke with magic instead. FF15's combat system is as shallow as it fucking gets and this was by Tabata's design.
I beat naglfar. Omega wasn't available when I played (bought it at launch). Dunno how many of those other things you listed were available at launch, but I really don't care. I saw the end credits, where Noct showed Luna a pic of Prompto attempting to take a selfie in the middle of a bush. Good enough for me.
Evan Morgan
>Directional inputs don't fucking matter They all matter. Directional inputs give you alternate stronger attacks and inputs from sidesteps, charges, lunges, stingers, backflips with iframes etc. >you can do whatever the fuck you want but it won't be any better than holding circle So you never played the game or know what you're talking about, or know about break % or crit boosts on manual finishers which is different on different weapons, or on pure functional level of objective different combat inputs. You are literally also wasting time if you hold to attack instead of tap because tapping gives manual finishers which has crit boost which increases break % on enemies which kills them faster than holding anything you fucking braindead cunt. >and anything that holding circle doesn't work So almost everything in the game? Hold nothing but O and post it, wait you'd fucking die/lose in like 1-3 hits. Fuck off you retarded drone. >you can instantly nuke with magic How did you nuke omega or naglfar or MA-X angelus or Cor or Bahamut or Ifrit or level 120 aranea or Cerberus or the fierce or the rogue or the mystic or ravus or quetzcoatl or dread behemoth or nagarani or red giant or etc? You're a fucking lying piece of shit, magic is powerful crowd control for mobs but everything has it's use in FFXV.
>Normal Attacks >Deals comparatively low damage on mid hits, higher damage on openers and finishers >Builds break% on manual finishers >Regular hitstun/stagger potential, differs on enemy size >Risky open to taking damage when doing >Compared to manual finishers, techs or warpstrikes does much less >Crucial for dealing consistent reliable damage >L stick directions+O for alternate attacks and inputs from sidesteps, charges, lunges, stingers, backflips with iframes etc >Builds MP guage, Armiger guage and tech(ATB like bar) gauge with each hit
>Warp Attack >Base triangle performs free warp which functions both as fast traversal or dash like evasion with iframes >R1+Triangle performs warpstrike with hit stagger/hitstun potential >Deals high damage with various effects depending on weapon type, from single target warpstrikes to AOE warpstrikes to multi hit warpstrikes to self buffing warpstrikes etc >Builds Break% much higher and faster to vulnerable state enemies by breaking them and gaining their rare drop >Consumes MP, depleting MP enters stasis during which no warps can be performed >Very efficient >Less risky due to iframes and cancelling normals through warps
>Blocking/Dodging >Tap Square + L stick direction for dodge roll with iframes >Hold to Phase which consumes MP to evade some regular attacks but not AOE, parryable or 1hko attacks, inefficient but useful against projectiles >Perfect timing tap to Blink cancel normal attacks, can cancel any normals through blink >When shield equipped press to hold up shield to deflect and block and reduce physical attacks >Perfect time block incoming attacks to blockstun enemies >When taken damage and knocked back you can do Impervious action by tapping Square exactly when knocked back to cancel the damage dealt and recover through a tech roll recovery >Can parrycounter with a Square+O input on parryable atttacks
I beat the game by mostly holding dodge until a counter insignia lit up the screen. I don't even need to read your huge ass post, because all of it is irrelevant.
Colton Murphy
So you didn't beat the game, thanks for conceding.
>So almost everything in the game? More like almost nothing unless you're severely underlevelled which I was because I only levelled up twice between level 10 and ~90 which is where I quit, once from 10 to ~30 and the other time from ~30 straight up to ~90. >How did you nuke omega or naglfar or MA-X angelus or Cor or Bahamut or Ifrit or level 120 aranea or Cerberus or the fierce or the rogue or the mystic or ravus or quetzcoatl or dread behemoth or nagarani or red giant or etc? You're a fucking lying piece of shit, magic is powerful crowd control for mobs but everything has it's use in FFXV. Aranea, Cerberus, and Queztal are the only ones I bothered with and none of them required it.
In reality none of this is worth utilising at all.
Anthony Williams
Not by your arbitrary definition. How many of those bosses that you listed were available at launch, btw?
Nathaniel Nelson
I played through the game 1.5 times and I've never heard of half this shit >dodge roll Nani? I just tap triangle and a direction like the game says >press up to hold shield nani? never explained to the player in any tutorial >L Stick directions + O to alternate attacks? Nani? >manual finishers Nani?
Somehow I seem to have missed a lot of mechanics. Meanwhile, the game was insanely easy even with my half-informed understanding of it.
Kevin Martin
That webm looks awful. Is this one of the bosses they added later, or was I lucky enough to miss this guy?
yeah this is an added later boss, this is the last boss before Ardyn, it's his brother Who ironically comes off pretty based as an armored ghost. I don't like the dindu nuffin retcon of Ardyn
>posts a coeurl, a bullshit enemy with an instant down >this post only serves to highlight the games flaws as the character sits there for fucking ever panting during any time he can pull out one of his infinite high potions and get right back up Fuck Coeurls and fuck you
Chase Powell
I don't know if the guy that always posts about how great XV is does this intentionally, but it was him that made me actually delete the game off my hard drive, and say that I wouldn't pay full price for any FF game again. If that was his grand plan, then kudos to him, I guess.

>They all matter. Directional inputs give you alternate stronger attacks and inputs from sidesteps, charges, lunges, stingers, backflips with iframes etc. Literally NONE of that shit matters in FFXV battle system. You can win a battle just as fast without giving any direction to your attacks. The game just isn't made for that. They did build a battle system with "all" of that (which is a fucking puddle in terms of depth), but 99% of the enemies sure are not designed with the moveset in mind. And it's fucking sad when the absolute bare minimum (even for an arpg) is your biggest argument.
James Williams
So you have no argument and no idea what it is you are trying to say, you didn't beat omega or naglfar or MA-X angelus or Cor or Bahamut or Ifrit or level 120 aranea or Cerberus or the fierce or the rogue or the mystic or ravus or quetzcoatl or dread behemoth or nagarani or red giant or etc without making proper use of weapon switching with shields for proper parries and perfect blocks, impervious for tech rolls, warpstrikes and warps for better evasion than phase ever could, blink for attack cancels into a dodge roll etc.
Aranea 120 fucking wrecks you even if you are level 120, Cerberus fucking wrecks retards like you who can't git gud, quetzcoatl destroys shitters, MA-X will fucking pin you with its rockets even if you try to spam warpstrikes you dumb fuck, literally every single one of those bosses shits on your retarded memes, hell a fucking basic enemy like Magitek Assassins require warpstrikes, parries or block stunning to counter them first then attacking, and this fucking webm which you can't refute. Shut the fuck up you lying scum fuck piece of shit.
I beat Naglfar. I already told you that. I also beat Ifrit. As I said earlier, I don't think a single one of those other bosses were available when I played (I put it down forever after checking out the Carnival).

>Literally NONE of that shit matters See Stay BTFO and coping.
It really tickles me how many webms you save in a desperate attempt to break the narrative that you can just press O to win, which you can do in the vast majority of situations.
Gavin Jones
notice how he's not responding to anyone legitimately dismantling his arguments and is just focusing on that one user to stir some shit
Alexander Walker
See: 3 years later, Barry is still holding circle. It's okay to let go. You won't lose.
Ian Barnes
Based XVchads putting retards in their place. Not one argument to be found versus the objective facts and evidence in these posts and the attached webms. These simple-minded drones can only shitpost in response as their worldview crumbles around them.
>That reveal in the end that the goddess sleeping was not Etri but Luna and the full main menu logo is Luna and Noctis during their wedding KINO
Brayden Garcia
You know the game is shit when you have to watch a shitty anime/cgi movie to understand what the fuck is going on. Same shit Nier Shitmata. At least with XIII they provided you with a wikipedia ingame.
Jose Lopez
>good thread >suddenly barry Goodbye lads it was enjoyable at least
Gabriel Young
Nier's plot is pretty straight forward just told in a weird way
Ryder Parker
Nier Automatas plot works fine without needing to play Nier, but you miss the really big emotional impacts. A lot of Nier and the Drakengard games have a ton of supplementary material but for the most part you can understand the main games plot pretty straight forward by just playing it.
Carter Watson
I really wish they would bother to translate the supplementary material. Being a fan of Drakengard/Nier, but with no desire to learn Japanese, is suffering.
Zachary Cooper
I really enjoyed it and it's definitely in my top 5 FF games, the story wasn't amazing but the gameplay and world more than make up for it. I just wish they'd fleshed the Noctis/Luna love story out more as when she died I was just "meh" and I was more upset by the ending when its implied that the bros were dead / had to live without Noctis
>fuck the haters Yea Forums as a whole doesn't have a valid opinion on games, most people that hates games do it to be contrarian. If something is popular they will hate it and pull the nostalgia card even though most of them are too young to have played any old games.
The way I look at it is that most Yea Forums posters are social outcasts that are bullied or alone so they associate popularity with being bad, anything that is popular they will hate because they hate popular kids.
Josiah Harris
>implied that the bros were dead they had to stay back and let Noctis travel to another world to live happy They had to die and knew full well they wouldn't go with him While i agree with you on Lunafreya, i feel like they tried to cram too mch story in the game, and to find a way to tell it they forced you to watch 2 animes, a movie and some books plus some lore on other games to tell it fully
