Yes, it works best when you just played the rest of the game in its normal art style, the contrast is what makes it work so well.
Contrast in battle style too, with it basically being real time for this fight.
Didn't like the health bar fuckery though, I get why Toby did it but it's so transparent with how the first hit you take knocks off about a third of your visible health bar, while your attacks do chip damage, and by the end of the fight those are reversed.

Maybe, but the music MAKES Asriel's fight and I thought the second phase where you save your friends was cool as shit.

I think Yea Forums is fucking autistic for hating on it so much and most of those guys have never played it and base their opinion on the Tumblr fanbase. Which is a shame because it's an excellent game, I liked the lore, loved the music, and the gameplay is pretty fun, I really liked how for the most part all the bosses had unique gimmicks that kept the fights fresh. The worst thing I could say about it is the humor gets a little cringy at some points but I enjoyed myself the entire time, solid game.

Yeah, if I had any actual nitpicks it'd be that some of Alphys's weeb jokes went on a bit too long, but otherwise I thought it was a very satisfying and charming experience.
