Can Yea Forums redpill me on HotS? I've consistently heard that its a great Moba and that its actually better than Dota and LoL but it was released at the wrong time and it died because Blizzard abandoned it

It's the most fun to play with friends, but also the most boring to watch tournaments of. I still really love it, I never enjoyed last hits, it's nice that supports level at the same time as everyone else, etc. It has several characters that are among my favorites in the genre (Gul'dan, Cho'gall)

It's more fun than Dota and LoL due to most matches revolving around fighting quickly on objectives rather than farming minions and jungles. They also tended to have more off-the-wall hero designs like Abathur and Lost Vikings.
The design team is the best part since it's composed mostly of older Blizzard employees who get to do whatever they want and can run with ideas they like. As such, almost every model is better than the one in their original game except for OW, and the OW heroes tend to have better skins than the actual OW ones.
Activision is slowly trying to kill the game though, the latest hero was a HotS-original that was thrown in literally out of nowhere (the only other HotS original in the game had an entire event leading up to her that included the release of other heroes like Deckard), and the latest heroes in general pretty much kill quick-match.
It's nice to play with friends or just to have a game to mess around in and not take too seriously. Shame it's getting killed off.

It's fun, but Blizzard has really turned into a cancer so anytime you play you feel like you're playing in a building that is going to collapse at any moment.

You guys are actually in for a surprise. Internally this Blizzcon is being hyped as the biggest one yet. Not only is there a new Warcraft expansion and Diablo reveal but there's also something really cool for Starcraft, more Overwatch with a teaser for a sequel, Hearthstone as always, Burning Crusade Classic, a HotS hero or two as always, and Warcraft 1 and 2 reforged in a battlechest type bundle (sold separately as well).
