Super Nintendo? More like Super Ninten-NO
who cares, I already have sn30 pro+ and retrobit saturn pad
Dpad is confirmed much better than those copies.
pro+ is confirmed to have fixed the dpad and the retrobit saturn pad dpad shits on pretty much everything
Based and Mung-pilled
The Pro+ also costs twice as much.
Can I play switch games with this?
I still don't know why people say that the 8bitdo has the same issues as the joycons. I bought my 8bitdo because my left joycon has drift and I've had no issues with the pad of the 8bitdo.
The gyro is kinda shit but that is a different story
yes. and it works on pc well
It has the same issue as the pro controller, not the joycons.
So I can either get two of these for $60 or a single 8bitdo pro+ for $50. Not sure which option I'd prefer desu. Do they easily sync with other things?
How do I get one of those while living outside the us and having a us nintendo account?
I heard I can rent a locker on a warehouse and have them sent the stuff to my country, but would nintendo sell a d send the controller to a non residential address?
>be a poorfag
guess my beer soaked 8bitdo will have to do
buy a Mikan daki.
also, what is that from?
>made with authentic sanwa parts similar to the snes original controller
why aren't you getting it bros?
Get the SNES controllers if you want something good for SNES and some retro style games.
Get the 8bitdo if you want something that can play modern games and also work on PC but you could just use a pro controller for that which will likely be better overall.
I see. I have not tried the pro controller so I'm not sure but I haven't noticed any ghost inputs or anything like it. Maybe it is more noticeable with fighting games
Fair warning that there's a shipping charge on this shit too. I had to fork over $4 for the online subscription, $5 for shipping, and $2 for tax.
>not already owning one of these
if you buy an 8bitdo controller over this you're a fucking idiot
Do they accept paypal for payment?
>paying for the online subscription when it is free for 12 months on twitch prime
>wireless
>probably dogshit battery duration
>ugly snes colors instead of super famicom
You'd have to be legitimately retarded to buy this over a 8bitdo, considering those work with the switch (and many other consoles/PC) and are built with two thumbsticks and ZL/ZR buttons.
It will be more noticeable with certain games. Tetris and fighters are some of the worst offenders. They had to patch in a lower sensitivity setting in Tetris 99 just for the pro controller. I thought the 8bitdo might fair better but it was the same if not worse.
I would buy it but it would feel too weird to play NES games with a SNES controller. My autism demands that I wait until I can get both and I don't know where they sell them.
thanks for the tip off, user. Just ordered it. Im a sucker for this kind of stuff. I'll probably ever use it, but it's official, new snes stuff so i gotta.
The non official controllers are everywhere but you can only order a limited amount of the official ones directly from nintendo after showing your paid online subscription.
They went full "fuck scalpers" mode.
i dont really want this but should i buy a couple anyway and resell ebay?
Because that totally worked out for the NES cons
thats why im asking
>How do I get one of those while living outside the us and having a us nintendo account?
Don't be retarded, there are services for that, usually MIAMI addresses, where do you live user? There's a lot of alternatives. But be prepared to pay for it.
>They went full "fuck scalpers" mode.
That's good. But i hate they don't ship them everywhere.
No that's retarded. You need a subscription and you can only get 4 per subscription. You won't get enough money out of them for it to be worth it if any
If you can do it. There's a lot of south americans and australians that can't buy them and are too lazy/stupid to pay for carrier services
Thank fucking god it's not 8bitdo shit. i'll pick one of these up.
Okay, but how to I get the UK or Japanese version living in the US? I hate the stupid fucking boring lavender buttons.
>oh mi gosh! overpriced shitty nostalgia controllers! I'll take ten!
From a scalper
>$30
>Overpriced
Man just how poor are you.
When i get about 50 of them, i'll sell you one for $80
It works on pc? Does it support dinput?
why cant i buy them on the UK store yet REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
>50
that's a lot of fucking subscriptions, good luck user
It uses Bluetooth so yeah it will work.
I can't even buy it without a subscription? Fuck that I just wanted one for pc.
Unecessary, any version of the pro, including most third parties, is a better investment.
The controller using Bluetooth does not tell me if it supports dinput or not.
The pro's d-pad is trash zoomer
Nice, just bought 2.
Just get an iBuffalo.
I think you need to have a separate switch console for each separate online account in order to buy these, so you're going to lose money on every sale kek
I can use this for Smash right?
no
you can't map directions to a dpad
I could use a wireless adapter for my Snes Classic controllers instead.
How long will these be available
Oh, that sucks. Are they compatible with games other than the SNES/NES ones though or are they pretty much exclusive to that?
Any game that uses the dpad would work. Mario Maker for example.
They don't have ZL and ZR and I thought those were smaller than a regular SNES controller
You can m8.
Kinda want but I expect it won't so well on linux which is kind of a dealbreaker for me.
How does it work without a home button? Do you need a separate controller to switch games or is there a button combination?
SNES controllers work on PC too.
8bitdo controllers can't even wake up the switch from sleep mode.
Ah, that's not a whole lot but PC functionality will definitely aid that. Hollow Knight and similar metroidvanias should be fun.
youtube.com
can't wait when nintendo starts selling wii u classics
fucking retards.
The NES online controllers had L and R which functioned for photo capture, home and back depending on which you pressed or both.
Snes online controller has L, R, ZL and ZR so some combo will be there for home.
>WARNING: cancer and reproductive harm
does it work for normal switch games?
Seems like that would be a nonissue for Nintendo fans.
not available for leafs? couldn't find it on our site
Its using leaded solder, which is good.
Because Bluetooth, y'know.
Does this only work with the switch online games?
>>probably dogshit battery duration
I don't really know why you'd assume that. I mean Nintendo's controllers have had the best battery life on the market for like two generations. The joycons are like 20+ hours each, the Pro controller 40+ hours, and the Wii U Pro controller 80+ fucking hours.
ahem, I use my actual snes pad on my switch thank you though.
Are you guys sure they work on PC? Where are you getting that information from?
NOT OUT IN THE UK
FUCK
would your government even allow it?
Hey bro, four per customer.
Just bought mine. When do they ship to California.
Last digit is how many I buy
OI YOU GOT A LOICENSE FOR THAT CONTROLLER?
I love how this and the "we threw your tea in a river" are the 2 things americans try and use against us like they are doing some 200IQ insults.
I guess it was funny once
No one cares what you niggers think is funny. We do it for our own entertainment.
Buy the 8bitdo gbros
No, it's always funny as fuck to think some country has their government driving around in vans trying to locate people who are watching TV without a LOICENSE.
but that doesn't happen...
>plug it into computer
>use it for emulation
SOMEBODY STOP ME
I want to order one, but my area's been under heat advisory. I don't want to risk anything fucking up during shipping.
50 bucks well spent
wtf is with that cancer warning at the bottom?!
>cheaper than every other switch control option
>overpriced
ok bud
Why are you pretending to be retarded?
based trap taste
they'll pop up on ebay
said the guy with his phone in his pocket and his laptop on his lap
Is there a point to this if you already have the snes classic modded with extra games and mame?
there are some different games on the switch i guess, idk what your extra games consist of. also, why would you play arcade games with a snes controller?
>laptop
lol
>8bitdo shit
I love my SN-30. What issues do you have?
I'm not sure why it's there either, the last GPU I bought had a cancer and reproductive harm warning on the box too
It's well documented the dpad is terrible, Chang.
Don't forget Rotherham and that girl who got turned into a kebab
Wait, can my pro controller wake up my switch? When I press the A button it just tries to connect and then turns off
The Wii U Pro controller satisfies my need just fine for something with a good dpad and SNES button layout, no complaints at all on that front. may as well pass on this.
Not on the model with the dual analogs
I only ever saw problems with the more authentic SNES controllers
I fell for this meme a year ago and it is surprisingly good.
>All this 8bitdo hate
Did they eat your dog or something?
8shitdo controllers are terrible. You're better off using a keyboard and mouse for modern games and if you were looking for a retro experience you aren't getting it on PC.
Can you not use the Super Game Boy or Game Boy Player because of this autism?
Hold the home button, just like any switch controller.
I' don't know man, outside of reddit and Yea Forums nobody complains about them.
Someone's dog.
I got the SN-30 pro styled like the original gameboy. It was $45 and I love it so far, had it for a few weeks, played retro games and new ones
Recommend watching reviews, but aside from earlier models with bad D-pads, I haven't heard bad reports
do those retrobit saturn replica pads still have those awful LR buttons that feel nothing like the real saturn pad?
The iBuffalo is better than the 8bitdo and the original SNES controller
GONE, GONE / THANK YOU.
do you pcfags buy these kinds of things for emulation?
How can Nintendo ever recover
>well documented
fucking lol
8bitdo is fine.
>Zoomers: OMG Nintendo you can't expect us to play Smash with wireless controllers!? INPUT LAG!! Make an adapter for wired GC controllers!
>also Zoomers: OMG I can't wait to play NES and SNES games with these wireless controllers
>like they are doing some 200IQ insults.
They aren't insults. You literally have to have a license to watch television. Think about what absurdist fiction narrative you live in where you actually have to pay a license to use a meaningless product like a TV or be thrown in jail.
Already out of stock it seems.
Gotta love Nintendo and their forced scarcity.
>Told myself I would buy it later
>Sold out
Goddamn it. I hope Nintendo restocks them.
Are these going to be sold out forever because fuck I really want one of these. 8bitdo dpads are fucking trash and the snes classic d-pad doesn't seem to work with any wii adapters from what I've seen online. I just need a good snes controller for pc.
So the ibuffalo?
I want a first hand account of the p-pad from someone who is as picky about d-pads as I am. I already got burned by 8bitodo, which I did a bunch of research before buying and everyone said it was identical to the SNES d-pad. I ended up getting something way too stiff, that doesn't register diagonals well and requires more pressure than just a bottom out to register.
>and everyone said it was identical to the SNES d-pad.
Who is everyone? I swear I've only heard bad things about 8bit do snes controllers
Do these work on Switch?
This was three years ago. I asked Yea Forums and everyone said it was identical. All the youtube reviews at the time said it was good. Every journalist review at the time said it was good. I'm sure that now that more people have used it the consensus has changed to recognize how trash it is, but I'm not willing to take the risk with another equally expensive chink knockoff.
You're trusting the wrong people. Yea Forums doesn't know shit and Youtube reviewers are getting paid by 8Bitdo to shill for them..
You're best bet for advice on retro hardware would be to reach out to people like speedrunners who are familiar with the original hardware.
I just ordered one. Super Metroid is pretty much unplayable without it. Even the Hori d-pad doesn't work because the select button is in the wrong place.
Most speedrunners are completely braindead chucklefucks that barely even know the game they """speedrun""" let alone different hardware, the vast majority of them are too poor to even try different types of hardware.
t. elderboi speedrunner
>out of stock because of scalpers
fuck off and get a job
I didn't order it just now, I ordered it when the topic came up a few hours ago.
What game?
Just a very quick read from google searches on speedunning focused website, I'm reading nothing but praise for the 8bitdo. Also searching for criticisms of the 8bitdo controllers, all I find is complains about diagonals, which is a huge issue, but not as big of a problem for me as the stiffness and bottoming out (a good d-pad should register just before bottoming out). I can't trust the internet for jack shit. As far as I've experienced, there are only two good dpads, the official SNES produced ones, and the Vita. How a Chinese knockoff could ever hope to replicate these is a hope that I've long since abandoned.
Fuck you Nintendo.
I'm not some pajeet scalper looking to flip this shit on eBay. I just want to use one.
Like I said, talk to people who you know play on original hardware for proper advice. Don't get your advice from Yea Forums or the reddit speedrunning board
>been checking regularly every day
>finally available to order
>get home
>out of stock
Fuck this gay earth
Why would anyone buy a wired controller in the year of our lord twenty thousand and nineteen?
Because wireless is a meme.
>being able to sit on my couch 12 ft away from my tv and not having cables and extension cords to trip over is a meme
ok
Very poor
I bought one of these a decade ago and still have it. Still works like a charm.
>sit 12 feet away from the screen
>have to deal with wireless delay on top of TV lag
Yes.
I don't surround myself with speedrunner and controller autists, Pretty much everyone I know personally is a normie. All I need is some good advice from someone who's as picky as I am about D-Pads. Excluding that, I just need a way to get a D-Pad that I know is good to work on PC, like the one I got with the SNES Classic that I can't find an adapter that people agree works on PC.
The best way to find the truth behind a product is to search the product with a phrase like "problem", "fix", or "issue". You will find all the major complaints and if you see a pattern of similar issues or lots of instructions on how to unfuck the item in question then it clearly has a major flaw.
Reviews and word of mouth are useless on the internet because there are tons of paid shills for everything (look up things like Amazon mechanical turk jobs, despite the odd name it's an automated job assignment system that literally pays people pennies to shill random shit on forums by writing posts that are copypasted by bots) and there are also people that are blind brand loyalists and/or they are simply easy to please. Others are downright ignorant or they haven't touched a real snes controller in years so they're just assuming it's the same based on their perception of their shitty memory.
One of the greatest problems with modern society is they are WAY too trusting of the internet. There is valid information out there but you need to filter 99% of what you see as garbage.
I remember buying one of these, and the Jap who sent it also bundled in a Kit-Kat with a note saying thanks. Haven't used that in ages but it was good.
Wireless isn't horrible these days, hell DS4s even have higher input latency wired. But wired is definitely more consistent, yeah.
>Kitkat
I got a coconut candy with mine.
You're assuming I don't already know all this now after having dealt with 8bitdo. Like I said, the Buffalo controller issues I looked for addressed stiffness, which is something I'd like to wholly avoid from my bad experience with 8bitdo. I've searched a long time, and have come to the concusion that all third party controller have trash D-Pads and I just need the Nintendo SNES ones to work with my PC somehow, whether that just be an adapter for the classic controller, which I don't think a working one exists, or the new Switch SNES controller, which I can't get.
do they come in PAL colors?
not for NA
got one for $12, its pretty decent
>Are these going to be sold out forever
they're still making and selling the NES controllers for reference
>wireless lag
lmao don't buy shit products and it's a non issue
they're made in all 3 varieties but you can only buy what your region originally had
correct it is
No thanks I rather own its evil big brother.
>People think scalpers did it
You need a subscription
only 4 per subscription
why the hell would a scalper risk losing all this money?
Everything has this, they have to write it out because California
Glad I preordered one earlier today. Will these work with nes games too? Don’t see why they shouldn’t.
No I'm giving you advice so you don't make the same mistakes and get angry about feeling ripped off.
yes, they're recognized the same as other switch controllers, just missing buttons.
California has a retarded law that causes food to have the same warning. It's because solder has lead in it.
Protip: don't eat solder.
what has solder in it
Hmmm I bet the snes controller would be a better controller than the pro for a lot of games. Definitely worth buying.
I want you to stop and think real hard for a minute user
they don't have to, sony assassinated the dreamcast for them
Nintendo's going to lose that joycon lawsuit, right? They deserve to lose. Maybe not if they fixed it within the first year, but definitely now.
Also I have no idea why the pro defect is brought up so often. Maybe it's just a case of "works on my machine" but I've never encountered the problem nor has anyone else I know, and we've all dealt with the joycon shit.
Wow thanks for that, and here I was planning on ordering twelve as snack food
I live in Mexico and have a Switch with US account and Switch online. How do I order one of these when they don't ship outside the US and Canada?
wait for ebay, or if you know someone in the states ship it to them and have them mail it i guess?
get one of your coyote buddies to smuggle one back
en.wikipedia.org
basically california being retarded.
the army
This?
do you guys collect different controllers for variation or something?
you don't play flightsims with a mouse, do you?
different controllers are more comfortable for different types of games
I’ve just been using my 360 controller outside of k+m, but that’s just me
I wouldn't want to play 2d platformers on the 360 d-pad personally
the controller contains chemicals known to the state of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm.
For 2d games I use a snes dpad (ibuffalo)
for 3d games I use a custom ps2 controller
For modern 3d games I use an xbox one controller
For arcade games I use a custom arcade stick and buttons
Demon's Crest is a fucking kino SNES game and y'all negros should be playing it NOW.
isn't it like gng?
Same universe, but it plays like butter.
Firebrand is a like Megaman with wings.
More or less. With the years I've been collecting controllers, making all of them work on the PC is redundant but also exciting for some reason. The Xbone controller is my default pad for most things, if I want to play 2D games I use the DS4 or a Snes controller, one with the yuro color scheme of course.
It's a more forgiving platformer with plenty of secrets and collectibles.
How do you guys know they work on PC?
They're fucking bluetooth man.
what’s in the tin?
While it's better priced than the ridiculous NES controller stuff for 70 bucks, I do have to wonder on how many games would I use it (Project Diva/Taiko? I hate the assimetrical controls for those), even. 30 bucks is a considerable price, still. I'll wait on this one to see if it's quality.
>better priced
its half the price, but you get half as many controllers
Sure, but NES controllers are completely disfunctional outside Atari-8bit, the method of charging is tacky at best... These controllers have a proper set of buttons for pretty much every non-analog stick enabled game from 16 bit up till now, they have dated much more favourably.
