So whats some cool combos? right now i have lohse with 2 polymorph (just to get wings and give her some mobility), and focus on geomancer/pyromancer Ifan as summoner/huntsman, trying to max warfare to increase his damage (so far summoner isnt that good, should i keep maxing warfare or summoner?) Sebille as a full scoundrel (i really wanna give her a secondary ability, what is a good combo for scoundrel? ive been leveling warfare too to increse her damage) ANd finally, my own character, who's a full warfare dual weilding. Im pretty much a brainlet, i can't figure out some combos other than mobility/highground classes
Use Rupture Tendons then turn them into a chicken with Polymorph. They'll run uncontrollably and take a tonne of damage.
Aiden Wilson
what about necromancer, or some stuff like that?
Christopher Foster
the game is shti compared to Divinity 1

Custom: Summoning/Necro Lohse: Hydro/Aero Red Prince: Warfare/Geo Sebille: Scoundrel/Poly
So far so good in Driftwood.
Carter Hernandez
Necro is physical damage so it combos well with warfare, scoundrel and polymorph. Another important note about it is the skill increases your life-steal on EVERYTHING on not just necromancer spells. My favorite necromancer combo only works with an undead character with high constitution: you get their physical armor down, use shackles of pain (they take damage you take) and then drink a huge health potion. Drinking a potion is 1 AP so you can deal hundreds if not over 1000 damage for 1 AP, 2 if you count the shackles which is also 1 AP.
Chase Reyes
Necromancer is good with living armor which heals your magic armor whenever you heal from lifesteal
Camden Allen
It offers less freedom in your build and has less complexity with its stats and the separation of civil skills makes them braindead but this game is overall better than 1 in terms of balance. I have played both multiple times and I prefer 1 mostly because of it's jank feel and hilarious (unintentionally so) writing but it is SO easy to break 1. The AI is easy to exploit (even more so than 2), you can perma stun most encounters from like level 5 on, you can increase your AP to insane levels and much more specific broken builds. It's really a difference between a really open system that lets you do a lot but is unbalanced vs. a more boring and constrained system that is harder to break (though you still can by max level, like any RPG really).
Noah Butler
will miss anything important if i dont play as Fane/Irfan?
William Garcia
Every character has their own unique story with at least two endings and you can't see them all in one playthrough. Ifan, Fane and Loshe probably have the stories that have to do the most with the "main" plot where as the Red Prince's, Beast's and Sebile's have more to do with their individual races.
Just let the thread die and stop shilling and bump it. You can clearly see that it's not worth it with the tiny attention it gets.
Matthew Murphy
what the fuck is your godamn problem you massive retard im not even the OP from all those threads you searched for in the archives >please stop talking about videogames
Luke Gomez
so what you just said is the game is shit compared to Divinity 1
fuck the dumb armor system and exploiting some bosses and enemies through creativity was the main fun about divinity 1
In regards to your party. Lohse is fine. With Ifan you go summoner 10 or bust, at 10 the conjured incarnate(or the champion of the driftwood arena as I like to call him) hits a huge power spike that diminishes as the game goes on so get it as early as you can. Sebille you're right on the money and remember warfare skills can backstab. Your OC I'd inform you dual wielding STR weapons is the weakest of the three STR weapon configurations but hell as long as you're okay with that, consider picking up some poly skills(the damage skills mostly scale of STR), geo skills(armor buff aside it has skills that do physical damage or do physical CC) or some points in necro for increased sustain and access to living on the edge.
1-2 point investments in trees aside from your main damage tree is useful. A point in scoundrel for adrenaline pays for itself for the most part. Or for a mixing combo you take a standard pyromancer slap 2 warfare on him for deflecting shield then you slap 2 huntsman on him to get throw explosive trap and mass deploy trap and then you laugh as he walks up to someone and watches 8 traps explode in their face(and well his as well). Actually well deflecting shield is a hilarious addition to any build that's okay lobbing projectiles or corpse explosion on itself.
It's at 40% off on steam rn isn't it? I don't it's gone lower than that before but someone can correct me on that.
Eli Gray
Oh wow. I checked yesterday and there wasnt a discount, that's why I made the post. I think I'm gonna buy the standard version, thanks user.
James Long
For sebille, you can do witch with a single dagger and hight intelligence to maximize her crowd control abilities (especially with ambidextrous), or go warfare for pure dual dagger DPS. I prefer witch style, because being able to target both armor types makes you much more flexible on thr battlefield, and love grenades can male up for the loss of damage per second.
Carter Miller
Teleport, entangle and that skill that skill that prevents enemies from blocking entangled effects, I forgot the proper names it's been a few months since I played it
Owen Nelson
Torturer plus entangle is stupid effective
Christian Barnes
Oh yeah also that rupture tendons too because when the try to run back to you after being teleported they take damage
Jonathan Hughes
idk man I just don't think crocodiles should be able to teleport
Grayson Brooks
>Torturer ah yeah that's what it's called, torturer and entangle got me out of a few tricky situations, it felt a bit cheap at times but hey...
Jayden Jones
Yes its a great game, don't play on normal difficulty tho because you'll do what I did and restart the game after a few days of playing because it's just too easy it gets boring an unchallenging, I restarted the game after around 15hrs playtime because of this.
Brayden Clark
I wouldn't feel too bad about it. Look at it this way it's a 3AP skill that deals one of if not the most resisted damage type in the entire game and is one of the few damaging skills in a tree thats split between 3 different damage types. Yeah it's great cc but spider legs can do the entangle through armor thing without torturer and the surface stays, albeit with limitations of its own(smaller area, only 1 turn entangle, if they're burning it doesn't work)
Landon Peterson
>Your OC I'd inform you dual wielding STR weapons is the weakest of the three STR weapon configurations In between dual, single with shield and two handed right? i presume that single with shield is better defensively and two handed is best offensively
So, if i want a dps warfare better to go two handed i guess
William Flores
In regards to a two-handed sword versus two one-handed swords colon the two handed sword provides you with a larger area of effect and damage on your skills, while two one-handed swords provides better raw damage against single targets
Andrew Parker
Is it worth it to skill into summoning for your Zweihänder wielding necromancer? That bone spider seems to be pretty strong
Nicholas Gutierrez
Not really. The damage scaling of summons is only based on your summoning ability, which caps out at 10. If you're maximizing summoning you should be using the innarnate. if you're not maximizing summoning you should not touch it at all as the scaling isn't really that good.
Jonathan Bennett
I guess so looking at it that way, I pretty much gave everyone in my party teleport, entangle and torturer and beamed people far away as I could and entangled them before their turn came up then just as entangle was about to wear off i'd top it back up again. I forgot about the burning thing, I don't think entangle worked with the poison AOE spells either, so i'd have to entangle before using poison etc
Jonathan Ross
>I kinda wanna buy this game, is it worth it full price or should I wait Dont listen to shills, its an half decent game if you want to dump 50-150h into something, but as a whole its not a must play or even an especially good rpg. The story is complete unapologetic garbage, the lore shit, the races and world are generic fantasy crap nr 101 with your elfs dwars wizzard and ebil demons out to destroy the world, and only you, the chose one can save us. Straight up its a save scum game, fight, look what enemy has, lose, load, prepare and then fight for real. Teleporting enemies into shit never gets old but the balance is awful and even in the last parts you will have enemies spawn out of thin air in middle of an empty field and literally no joke teleport behind you and one shot your party. If you played the first one, its the same but more polished, prettier and the writing is somehow even worse.
But if you looking for roleplaying then dont even bother, all quests are an excuse to initiate combat with demons, people turn into demons, are demons in disguise, jump out of a hidded wall, demon knights, demon skeletons, demond demons, etc, and all quest leave about as much of an impression as a puddle in a rain.
Jonathan Edwards
Pretty much. Dual Wield has the advantage of 2 weapons full of stat buffs, Shield has the extra armor/magic advantage(sometimes even doubling the amount you get from armor slots) and has the stupidly good bouncing shield for burst damage, Two-handed not only has the range advantage but dropping points into the two-handed skill also adds to your crit multiplier. Just how strong is that? Well a properly built two-handers can for instance outdamage dual dagger rogues.
Not really. Summoning 10 is what you'll usually aim for if you want to summon anything thats not supposed to blow up or act as a decoy within a turn or two of being summoned and at that point incarnate usually beats out your other options when AP doesn't matter(ie: You're okay with dedicating a 4ap turn to summoning). That means you're also taking away a fair amount of points away from two-handed/warfare and to top it off bone spider has the misfortune of NOT having any magic armor. That thing has a high chance of being CCd after the first turn, if it even gets to have a second turn.
Ethan Sanchez
>the races and world are generic fantasy crap nr 101 with your elfs dwars wizzard and ebil demons out to destroy the world Cannibal elves and lizards are pretty original
>Straight up its a save scum game, fight, look what enemy has, lose, load, prepare and then fight for real git gud
>all quests are an excuse to initiate combat with demons What? There are tons of non-combat quests, probably less than in 1 though
>all quest leave about as much of an impression as a puddle in a rain I'm gonna remember that prostitute quest for a while at least
Thomas Russell
Should I make my own character in this or just use the ones already made for the game?
Kevin Martinez
They changed that so now chicken tendons causes them to just not move
Justin Smith
Do barrelmancy. Get the gold chest from the first island, fill it with every heavy object you can, then use telekinesis to smash dudes for thousands of damage. Just make sure you pay attention to who has reflect and use cheat death first if necessary
Eli Anderson
TWO DAZZEN NAOBAWMEN FER INSUBAWDINOISHUN
Jose Myers
Origin Characters: Unique side-quest/interactions that you choose the outcome instead of the narrator giving a general idea of whats happening when they're doing that dialogue as a companion, preset background tags and race/gender combo, mostly situational unique source skills aside Fane. Some achievements require you to play AS the origin character and not just have them as a companion
OC: Experience the plot without a personal sidequest chain that potentially changes it, Set your own background tags and gender/race combo, Generally useful unique source skill
It's up to you but just keep in mind Fane and Lohse alter the dynamic of the plot the most, while Fane and Ifan are the most involved in the plot.

>Cannibal elves and lizards are pretty original If you dont fallow the red prince quests lizard make fuck all sense in this game as their kingdom is far away, i would much rather have orc and gnomes be aprt opf the game instead of making a cameo in one or wto quests. >git gud Yeah, like that witch on cross bitch that one shoots your entire party and has nuke aoe aura? How about the Doctor fight on first try? Get good on that? >What? There are tons of non-combat quests, probably less than in 1 though Problem is that all non combat ones are short, like solve a puzzle or escort the guy in barrel, then its back to endless combat. The prostitute one was funny, and i like how she gets an post ending mention.
