Have you ever bought video game merch, Yea Forums? Things like artbook, soundtracks, figures, etc. Funkopops don't count.

I've considered it but I can't really see any point. For... figures and artbooks at least. I've seen cool figurines or artbooks but what the fuck do you specifically want that for? Not that I care about having video game stuff, but what difference does it make to have it sitting on a table nearby so you can look at it every once in a while and say "cool" and forget it again? Just looking at a picture of it and acknowledging it's cool is the same, or reading a PDF over buying a physical artbook. It's a bunch of money poured into a sink that accomplishes nothing but give you a physical tether for something you like as if you have to prove you're dedicated by buying some trinkets. I never see anyone address this so maybe I'm just the most oblivious retard ever but I don't know how you can drop two hundred dollars (or however much these things cost) on something you'll only get novel interest out of. Unless you just pore over them all day?
Ye. Artbooks and figurines really. Collector's Editions too if those count.
Thanks to Trump, you'll have to pay $300 for shipping if you plan on buying anything outside of America.
Absolutely based.
I'm not from america.
I cannot stop fucking buying figures. I have 70 already and 14 on pre-order.
Hilda doesn't have blue eyes
I actually envy you. I wish I still had the money for it. I'm only at 9 figurines. I bought 8 of them in Japan a few months ago. But unemployment fucks with you hard here.
Who the fuck is hilda?
This was the most recent thing, I need to dust off everything else and add it to the collection for some new pictures, I'm just too lazy though.
They're lovely and all, but you run out of room for them all really quickly in a small flat.
Hope things get better for you user.
Thank you, user. I hope so too. I haven't even opened up mine yet because of a lack of room, coincidentally enough. They're all still boxed.
>Have you ever bought video game merch, Yea Forums?
Nope.
Bro, that's margarine luka.
Why would you lie?
I've got 2 Monster Hunter figure builder figs, Deviljho and Pukei-Pukei.
>spoiler
Well I got two Funkopops as gifts about a year apart from eachother, the only thing people seem to know about me is that I like a "Team Fortress Two", so I've got a Scout and Heavy Funkopop now.
No other vidya merch, I don't like the idea of wasting my money on plastic. Pixels already take enough of my money.
I've got 4 figures and 5 artbooks, I don't think anyone's scanned the Unlimited SaGa artbook so there's a plus about doing that. Want more but I need to finish college and move out.
I used to buy strategy guides for games I didnt own as a kid. They would sell like 3 of them for 10 at kb toys I think so I had a nice stack. Nowadays I just buy models and figures. For rpgs and such
I own all the figurines.
All.
I'm her fag and i knew it
Why would she need a fag?
No. I grew up dirt poor and anything that doesn't pass a certain usefulness threshold won't get bought no matter how much I want it.
I'm not poor anymore and i still can't break this way of thinking.
fag=equals fan or xfag
you newfag
I've been here since 2008 and I've never seen someone say that he's someones fag. If anything they'd say "I'm a x-fag" and not "I'm her fag".
I bought a sword.
Not some wallhanger made in China, a proper forged sword made from spring steel.
No affiliation to any vidya, but vidya definitely helped me wanting a sword.
Well, it's also a way of saying it?
>spending $150 on cheap plastic toys
No thanks.
I'm tempted (heh) to get that Luka Temptation figure. Then again, I haven't really been into anything Miku in years.
Damn I love blackjack Luka. What a babe
Not Vidya but I bought the boogiepop light novels
Figs and artbooks mainly
I harbor a visceral hate against Funko Pops. All the weeaboo and comic book stores now have a billion of these ugly things instead of high quality figures. They are cheap and appeal to normalfags so they can have epic Avengers and GoT merchandise, so they sell way more than regular figures.
There were cool stores in my city full of HQ anime and vidya merchandise(figures, plushes, artbooks, etc) and now they are all full of Funko Pops instead and barely anything else. I fucking hate it
I bought the Prey artbook, i liked the game very much
youtube.com
I already had the US release when I got this.
You are correct, there isn't much of a point. It really is just a money sink
Well theres nothing wrong with collecting vidya shit. My dad collects stamps and they just end up in a folder and i collect my toe nail clippings.
I don't understand the appeal. Even nendoroids look better.
yes, i have a few plushies and many figures.
i´ve been thinking about buying her lately.
I just happened to have some leftover credit at Gamestop and grabbed a few bargain bin games and a Megaman amiibo going for cheap before the store went out of business. I don't even have a nintendo console.
Not really. I think that the only artbook I have is Fire Emblem: Fates one, and that’s only because in that case collector’s edition was the only way to get all 3 Fates story paths on one cartridge.
I really just don’t see the point in most cases. Artbooks are nice but you only really look at them once, soundtracks are the only ones that interest me but they are usually comically hard to find and overpriced so I get the songs through more practical routes (props to devs who put them up with digital versions of games tho, I’m not beyond paying for them as long as they’re sensibly priced), and figures just go into the ”can’t understand how hard I try” bin, shit’s just kitschy.
I own a Pikachu amiibo.
Vidya soundtracks would make for a good object of collecting if CD wasn't going the way of the dinosaur
i've got the hotline miami soundtrack on vinyl
the release date keeps changing
whats the point of anything, really?
Just Dorbz.
got the bonfire on the way now, cant wait
been waiting for them to put preorders up for thsi for a little over a year now, supposedly wasnt cancelled so im still waiting
I don't understand how this set could be so beautiful in 1 and 3 and so meh in 2.
The point is to look at panties when you can't see them in-game
I got this near Doom collectible replica. Even plays E1M1 when you push a button. Fucking worth it
No it's not
international shipping is as expensive as it's always been
>spend $150 on plastic shit
>save the box and sell it for double in 2 years
i think 2's lighting and texturing (material looks specifically) was just dogshit, making lots of sets looks like garbage
Pops look better than amiibos at least.
My only complaint is how loud the E1M1 sound is. I can't wait to see Eternal's collectible figures. They said the demon's get figures now, too.
I'm playing that game for the first time when I get home, mail should be in today
Used to heavily buy figures of anime and video games. Probably about to get banned from amiami after 7 years from just ignoring orders. Been buying OSTs instead since I'm way more passionate about video game music. Just got the Mega Man Battle Network Sound Box.
I wish I was either self-confidant enough to not give a shit or was friends/family with people who were okay with or better yet appreciate sexy anime/vidya figures.
>mfw all the vidya model kits I want to buy only have Japanese instructions
Never.
Huh?
yea all kinds, wearables, posters, figures, collectors editions, artbooks
the thing i can recommend the most is pic related.
That's like asking why people buy statues, ornaments, paintings or any other decorative objects you most likely have all over your house or your parents house.
I don't know how to setup the girl I bought because she comes with wings and stuff and I don't think there's an manual
inb4 that autistic normalfag anti buyfag sperg shows up in the thread to ruin it again
Just learn japanese
I got the Atelier Arland artbook because I love that series and it had design notes you couldn't get in the games. But they went and released an updated version afterwards with even more stuff in it which is annoying.
Yes.
Here's your Bomberman figure, bro.
Been a few years since I last bought something.
Delete that figure
There hasn't been anything new announced that I really want. Maybe that Kawakami figure if it turns out alright, though I would have preferred the teacher version over the maid outfit.
