Tim Swine shops for games on Steam using wishlists and such and then pays the dev to block the Steam release, that is textbook anti-competitive and extremely scummy, you don't even have to like Steam to notice how scummy that is on principle. Everything else about multiple launchers, Tencent, how shitty the store is, etc. is all tangential, the important thing is that he's using this shitty bribe method to block releases on Steam even after they've taken preorders.

The actual problem is that it's all bullshit. The service they offer is worse in every aspect compared to already established services. Their client is lacking basically all the features that Steam has and instead of competing with lower prices, Epic compete by bribing third party developers into publishing their games exclusively on the epic store.

The ToS aren't new, they already existed when Swine started poaching games but for some reason Gabe is not enforcing them.
I suppose it's a matter of how you would enforce them, if breaching ToS gets your game banned from Steam, then Gabe would be playing into Swine's hand by enforcing that clause, after all, the dev already proved happy to abandon Steam, so making that permanent wouldn't be much of a deterrent. So what can Gabe do then, sue the dev? Sue Epic? What would he sue for and what would be the chances of winning? And even if Gabe won, would it be worth it? My guess is that those measures simply don't pass the cost-benefit threshold, so the best option is to wait it out, Swine's poaching strategy and the 12% cut are not sustainable in the long run, they have to run out of Fortnite money eventually.
