The biggest weakness of this game is how much more appealing the congregation is than the other factions. Just playing legate in the capital would probably have made for a better game

2h in general is kinda meh, even against groups I find bombs or magic coupled with 1h to be much more effective, but if you don't want to invest in either they're a decent substitute, remember to keep a 1h sword for 1v1s tho. Firearms are just fantastic throughout and couple well with pretty much anything.

you don't understand, the congregation is built on fair trade and mercantile alliances/cooperation with clearly established guidelines and policies that suite free commerce in-general. Slavery is banned in the congregation for multitudes of reasons, such as attracting people from everywhere to settle in it's lands, contributing to the economy of the congregation by paying commerce, and stimulating this economy/commerce by being free citizens with wages (and thus, purchasing power). There are also political influences on the congregation's laws to maintain it's neutrality with other factions and cultures.

I'm only 10 hours in so excuse any things that could've flown over my head, this is the image i've created so-far regarding factions from playing this game.

Vasco is MUCH faster to get than anyone, really, especially Siora. You can romance him even before getting Pertus or Aphra while losing an opportunity to join Nauts and getting a tattoo, but that's another story.

The game does an okay job illustrating just how knife-edge the Congregation's situation is and how the entire thing is a house of cards built with the power of money. They may make it look like the other two factions need the merchants but the Bridge could announce an embargo tomorrow and utterly ruin them since cash flow is the only way the whole thing keeps going

elaborate how this destroys my argument, because as we can see explained by the lore they're an 'important evil'. they're the owners of the sea, the best sailors and the best escorts. They're literally core to the congregation's commerce.
If you mean that the nauts practice slavery, what they do isn't exactly "slavery". The recruits they are promised are, as far as I've seen, rare instances of contracts with rich families rather than mass-slavery of commoners. It's an allegory to the pre-modern english navy recruiting sailors through extremely shady ways such as kidnapping drunks from bars or beating people and carrying them off to ships and taking in prisoners/criminals as sailors, the rest of the Nauts' recruits come from sea-born offsprings.

2. Remnant is multiplayer-focused whereas Greedfall is an honest-to-god single player RPG which many people (myself included) were hungry for.

4. Greedfall is the better game, and this is coming from someone who liked Remnant decently well despite its many flaws and played with a group of 3.

Actually, it is not that janky. Paradoxically, the more you play, the less you notice small flaws the game has. Animations for main character seem a bit stiff but monsters (especially big ones) are top-notch, combat is not that elaborate but not worse than W3 at least. There are reused assets here and there but they are not that bad. Also fashion.

That's my biggest issue with the game and why I can't exactly recommend buying it. You can choose how to approach different problems, but it all leads to the same outcome. And when I think I'm about to make a choice, Sardine just insists on not letting me have player agency.

Finally completed it after 36 hours. I'm so proud of Spiders. Nice to see them improving.
If I've got one major complaint it's that there isn't enough quest choice or reason to take different options. I finished with all factions Friendly because the ideal path through each quest tends to be pretty obvious and sometimes options are presented which De Sardet immediately shoots down without you even getting a say in the matter.

Well I gave it a shot on hard at the same level. not too bad with a mage since stasis is damn broken and I had an amulet that increased its duration by another 6 second but dear lord I levelled up twice almost thrice during the damn thing and everything on the 5th challenge still had red skulls over their heads. I actually had to use mana and hp potions to deal with the last enemy and that guy was two-shotting my ass

the worst part is that they have interesting settings and i'd say good atmosphere even - better than Greedfall - but the games are so unfinished it hurts. sometimes you can only infer what happened from later dialog because entire scenes in the main story are missing
