By prepping the bull

Might finish the first original today.

Yea Forums doesnt care about this game

I'll have beaten it by then because the game will inevitably leak in the next 24 hours for hack chads

Already have it preloaded, I don't work Friday's so I'll stay up late with a glass of 12 year old single malt and enjoy me some Zelda.

Attached: pexels-photo-447189-1024x844.jpg (1024x844, 65K)

Yea Forums doesn't care about borderlands either dipshit

Just beat ALTTP on Switch, was fun, wish I didnt remember every secret so well, its too route now that the secrets are all gone

Maybe Ill do an Oracle game real quick too

Which is the better Oracle game?

By restarting my Gamefly subscription so I don't need to spend $60 on an 8 hour game with no replayability.

I used to think it was Ages, but the Zora sections feel like such a slog to me now that I prefer Seasons despite the weaker story/characters and puzzles. I think I even put Minish Cap above the Oracle games now.

> LA > MC > OoS > OoA (but they're all still good)

How am I supposed to care about this shit when Divinity OS2 and Jedi Outcast just released? Who the fuck is playing anything else?

>Jedi Outcast
wait. isn't that an almost 20 year old game? not saying it's bad, but couldn't you also get that on Steam for like $3?

I have the EU special edition pre-ordered since June. With the gameboy case thing. i might just keep the game and sell the special edition stuff

They better hd oracles

By getting stressed the fuck out that I might lose my job.

Yeah I've played it a dozen times, but this thread is also about a 25 year old game. I'd rather replay Outcast on a handheld than Links Awakening.

It's literally free on the internet the devs released EVERYTHING when Lucas arts shut down

The capcom games will probably never be acknowledged

>IT WAS ALL A DREAM

Attached: 1567043024496.jpg (500x500, 17K)

>gamefly
That's still around?

Got a 30 pack of onions and a container of hummas

Just finished LttP a few days ago, I've probably finished the game around 30 times but it never gets old blasting through it in an afternoon. Didn't do all of the bomb and arrow upgrades this time though, fuck that shit. Going back to fuck around with Cadence of Hyrule some more now, I was disappointed that it wasn't really difficult or content-heavy enough to be a true sequel to Crypt of the Necrodancer, but as its own one-off experiment it's a ton of fun, not to mention that it's absolutely gorgeous

why play this over the original?

Unfortunately I had to pass on it so I could get Dragon Quest 11S the following week.

Attached: Martina.jpg (345x832, 54K)

Play both.

Yes, I've been using it off and on since 2004.

By somehow fixing my switch first.

Better controls. Better minigames and extra collectables. New aesthetic experience. Enhanced musical soundtrack.

Why be intentionally dense?

>extra minor fluff
>60€
no thanks bro

By having already finished Link's Awakening.

I'm sorry you're poor, bro, but no need to whine about sour grapes

drawing the hippo model.

why not just wait for the remake?

I hope it's worth the $60 I preordered it for but I honestly don't think it will be. It will probably feel more like a $30 game. I'm just getting it because it's my favorite game series and also my favorite GB game. I kinda wish they's just flop back and forth between a new 3D Zelda and new 2D Zelda every few years though, I'm not really so sure this needed to be remade, maybe a game kinda like it like ALBW was to ALTTP.

>I had to pass on it so I could get Dragon Quest 11S the following week.

The amount of games coming out on Switch is unreal. I can't afford everything.

LA is better than 99% of

Dont have to pause to swap items every 10 seconds

RIP

what are you doing here randy?

Attached: soy male.jpg (489x623, 58K)

how is this shit full price ?

I pre-ordered the Dreamer edition copy from Walmart so it depends when they deliver to my house

why shouldn;t it be?
>inb4 its an old game
no it isn't. its a brand new game made from scratch. being based on an old game doesn't mean its worth less.

>roc's feather isn't tied to a button
WHY THE FUCK NOT

because it looks like it was made in a few months by interns

>I'll stay up late with a glass of 12 year old single malt and enjoy me some Zelda.

Attached: soytrio.webm (960x540, 2.32M)

oh come on, at least put a tiny bit of effort into your bait

>Releasing against Sengoku Rance
Sorry Zelda, got other plans.

>zelda is made by blizzard now
Wat

I replayed LttP

Attached: 1467072393405.jpg (368x368, 34K)

Why would i play a game I already played on GameBoy?

Because the gameboy version has dreadful pace of play since you have to pause every two seconds

gonna come here with my switch lite on friday.

Does this game have the color dungeon from DX? Or is it LGPE tier and a case of "we remade a game that was already remade and the second remake has less content than the original"?

>tiles and enemies are 1:1
It's an old fucking $6 game with a $54 coat of paint.

Color dungeon is in, one of the directs had them go through the first couple of rooms for it

Never played the original, but honestly I'm skeptical about the graphic style.
Top down 3D is very hard to get right imo, especially since the lead distance looks really low. It better run at 60fps or I can't see how anyone would play this without clawing their eyes out.

I might get it if it goes on discount on the e-shop.

But I already played, beat, and enjoyed it. What's left for me on the switch version?
>Slightly better quality of life changes
Not worth full price
>Graphical changes
fucking lol

NSP where

Gamexplain says it runs at 60, even undocked. The only time it dips to 30 is for the first few seconds you transfer between notable "named areas" (i.e. when "mabe village" or "animal village" pops up, etc.)

>less than a week till release
>still, nobody earnestly talks about this game here unless someone starts a disingenuous hype or defense thread

I guess there's not much to talk about? I have it preordered and I forget that it's coming out in a few days, though. In Smash's case, I didn't go a single day without thinking about it.

There, fixed the style :)

youtube.com/watch?v=9wM1hvu6IM4

>60 bucks for a remake of a game everyone should have already played with a negligible amount of new content.

I love LA, and look forward to fruits of the dev's work, but there's no way I'm paying full price for it. If they would sell it for 40 it'd be day 1 for me. Hell, they might even get me if they had Master Quest styled dungeons for future play throughs.

>the dungeon maker aspect that everyone hyped up as LE EPIC ZELDA MAKER MODE turns out to just offer pre-arranged dungeon room layouts
>8 directional movement on a goddamn stick, with the D-Pad being entirely unused (at least in the public demo)
>dumbed down, unimpactful arrangements of the original amazing soundtrack
>lazy graphical style with everything being glossy and the screen having a shitty tilt shift filter to make it look like toys
I really just don't get it, man. This seems like a bunch of bullshit to me.

71h to go

i'm still debating if I should get Zelda or DQXIS. Probably will get the former since I don't have time for long ass RPG's right now

based

Attached: 1462731327176.jpg (558x845, 215K)

I guess i could charge my 3ds and play the copy of DX they gave me for *free*

Totally. I'm not even done with Astral Chain yet and I've only played a two routes in Fire Emblem. Not only is there a lot to play but there's a lot of longevity to these games. I have over 200 hours in Smash and Xenoblade 2 and I still play them. I only just got every spirit in Smash a few days ago.

Yeah I've heard DQXI is really really long. Though that's actually a good thing for me. My job has so much downtime.

Not really doing anything this week. I guess if it counts, I replayed ALTTP and ALBW about a month ago to get ready for it

They open sourced the engine, not the assets you fucking retard.

I played seasons first and liked it a lot, but ages felt so cool with the past being basically a whole new world. The mermaid tail made the underwater shit cool for me so I didn't mind it much.

I don't understand this complaint. Pausing to use the menu takes only a second.

>8 directional movement on a goddamn stick, with the D-Pad being entirely unused (at least in the public demo)
This is what bugs me the most. The enemies aren't locked to 8 directions but for some reason Link is. It looks really janky in motion.

by praying to the yuzu devs

He's married and you're alone.

Attached: download.jpg (866x768, 215K)

I haven't been watching much gameplay but I have to wonder why they even did this when ALBW didn't do it. I get being faithful to the original, but if they were going to out of their way to improve the item management to account for more buttons, why not also improve the movement? I would also question not having the Roc's Feather be mapped to a button but I'm assuming ZL/L and ZR/R can be used interchangeably

Finishing up Astral Chain before it comes out.

Is it any good? I bought it a week ago but I've been too absorbed by Iceborne to play it.

I am trying to get both Pokemon Heart Gold, and Gears 5 done for it in time.

South Parks also on prime now, so I may put that on in the background to go back to the 90s while playing it.

Spyro, Crash, CTR, etc. They all costed 40 dollars on release.

What's this guy watching anyway? I'm assuming the BotW release date trailer. Shit was hype.

Attached: FBF908F2-12B3-402C-A77B-E1133ECED15F.jpg (394x534, 61K)

I'm playing Smash instead

the Star Wars Episode 9 trailer iirc

3rd nuStar Wars teaser

Yakuza Kiwami came out at a cheap price as well.

Oh damn. Never mind not worth how excited he is.

>maybe a game kinda like it like ALBW was to ALTTP.
Please no. I liked ALBW but I'd prefer that they just make a completely new 2D Zelda instead of rehashing old ones.

I have it downloaded and I'm gonna play it as soon as it's available. Shouldn't take me more than 2 hours to complete

Not that user but I would have loved another ALBW type game, but more original, acting as a direct sequel (that isn't Tri Force Heroes)

Seething snoyfag lmao

I think it's pretty good. Maybe not as good as Bayonetta 1/2 but definitely worth one playthrough at least.

>dumbed down soundtrack

lmao your whole post reeks of seethe. Fuck off and stop being upset.

With porn of course.

Its because of how the original game is designed. LA's world is based on a grid. The puzzles, enemy placement and routine are all part of that grid. You can't change that without fundamentally redesigning the game.

Simple proof? Imagine how digging holes with shovel would work with analogue controls and you can see the problem.

They used analogue in ALBW because the entire game was built ground-up to be played like that.

Attached: 1567808119714m.jpg (1024x1023, 225K)

>s-s-seeethe

Are there hippo and mermaid titties in this? It is important that I know this.

Attached: ShovelGet_PH.png (256x192, 33K)

Ah, I see, good point.
I guess I can live with it then

>trash unlocked framerate that can drop from 60 to 30 in an instant
>constantly unstable
>there's dips even talking to NPCs in their tiny houses
What did they mean by this?

>$60
Nope, not buying into Nintendo's bullshit tax. I'll buy it second hand for $40 after someone has finished it in a few days.

>wish I didnt remember every secret so well
That's the curse of Zelda games.
Zero replay value.

Best you can hope for is wait a shit ton of years and hope you forgot the routes, only to realize that you can still remember a large chunk of the game.

>Simple proof? Imagine how digging holes with shovel would work with analogue controls and you can see the problem.

A lot like Animal Crossing, I would imagine, which works well enough.

they already rehashed LttP's overworld, now they're doing a 1:1 remake of LA and you want them to keep being lazy? Shit how about an original top down Zelda, it would be the first in like 30 years made by Nintendo

>Zero replay value.
I disagree, I've played through ALBW and the 3D games barring BOTW, SS, and WW (which may change if I replay one of the latter two sometime soon) at least 3 times, and I find the 2D games I've played to be pretty replayable so I imagine LA will be the same way

LA is the best 2d zelda. Fucking fight me faggors.

Same bro.
The demo was great and I've been feeling a small gaming void ever since I finished it.

Never thought I'd clock 11 hours in a fucking demo. With that sort of treatment, they deserve my support.

Attached: Birth_Of_A_Luminary_Dragon_Quest_XI.jpg (1920x1080, 159K)

Poor people don't know the value of money.

Is it a 1:1 remake?
I know the mini games have been refined, but are there any extra dungeons besides the barebones dungeon maker?
The original is like 6 hours long. If the remake has so many QOL improvements, the game will be like 3 hours long if it's the exact same game.
Don't get me wrong, Link's Awakening is probably my favorite Zelda game ever, but if the remake doesn't offer more than looking like a shiny diorama, there's really nothing to justify 60 bucks.

>paying $60 for a demake
lol

Wouldn't be surprised if they had a Master Quest sort of thing with all new dungeon design like OOT

Probably won't get it on release.
I love Links Awakening, my favorite top down Zelda game. But it feels like they really dropped the ball on recapturing the tone of the first game with the art style they went with.
I'll pick it up somewhere down the line.

Aonuma wants this remake to be the introduction to classic style Zelda games for all the new babbies brought in with BotW. Yep. This babyshit remake is what newcomers will now associate with the older games. This will basically totally poison the well of classic content/concepts if it does well.

Attached: 1540249644075.jpg (456x386, 81K)

Do they even expect this game to sell?
Outside of Nintendo Directs, the marketing has been abysmal.

My bet is that the game is a lazy remake of the same stuff with a shiny coat of paint, so they'd rather stay quiet and let the game sell on brand name alone.

Attached: pot lady.jpg (698x641, 131K)

>embargo lifts only just the day before release
Oh my christ this is going to be a fucking bloodbath after the first wave of paid reviews isn't it

Attached: 1521699264494 2.gif (255x209, 691K)

Did they hired a preschool orchestra for the music? it's so shitty, remind me of the switch yoshi game soundtrack which was ear ripping aswell.

No multiply that by several hours of gameplay and a swap every 1-2 min. Even if the total time isn't that long, it's annoying as fuck. It was ok when I was 5 but I'm not dumb enough to be ok with it now.

That top middle image really pisses me off for some reason.

The right and left ones are just pathetic.

>Paying $60 buckaroos for a remake that adds fucking nothing to the game
No thanks, BRO

Same. $65 after tax? Fuck that I’ll just browse eBay and grab it for 40-45

it’s like how they sold tropical freeze for $60 despite being a 4 year old game at that point that sold for $50 new back then
>but muh funky mode!
literally pants pissing toddler easy mode

I completely understand the $60 complaint but to me personally it isn't an issue and I love that they have a remake of an old Game Boy game coming out on the system right after a heavy home console experience like Astral Chain, getting both kinds of games is what I hoped the Switch would achieve from the beginning.

you CANNOT justify the price
>this and BoTW are the same price

Maybe because nobody had a fucking wii u
Selling dong freeze for $60 is not ok but it's more understandable than selling a remake for the same price

I'm not, I'm just saying it isn't an issue to me. They should've put it at $40, but it's not going to stop me from buying it anyway, it's my favorite Zelda. I'm interested in seeing how the market at large will respond to the pricing.

To be fair, this is a complete game and BoTW has hard mode and story elements locked behind a paywall.

I only really want the amiibo desu.

>unironically collecting amiibo
literally LMAOing at ur life lol

they're both shit and I still bought them
never had a Wii U and it's been over a decade since I played anything on GB, so they may as well be new games at this point

Sunken Cost is a bitch.

This being full prize honestly annoys me. If the small dungeon builder is the only new content then you know exactly how short this game is going to be.

I agree. With the Switch killing off both the Wii U and 3DS, I was also a bit scared that they would kill off their smaller, less ambitious projects which really bloomed on the 3DS.
But their pricing logic just went full retard.
As says, BotW and motherfucking Smash Bros are the same price as a Gameboy remake.

None at Nintendo could ever sit down to think about this. They're on a high horse, and by hell am I going to help enable their greed.

To be fair, BotW is an entirely new game, which is at least worth 40-80 hours long and it's not a remake of a gameboy game, you fucking retard.

I'd be surprised. OoT3D only got those rearranged dungeons because MQ already existed beforehand. MM3D, WWHD, and TPHD got no Master Quest of the sort. The most I could see happening is an extra-damage difficulty mode and MAYBE a mirrored world.

>You can't change that without fundamentally redesigning the game.
Pokemon did it and it worked just fine.

Attached: 1509618372098.png (400x325, 89K)

They have hero mode (unlocked from the start like in the other remakes, so you don't have to complete the game first to activate it), more heart pieces and secret seashells and the minigames are expanded to include new rewards such as empty bottles and figures of various characters you can decorate Mabe Village with, but that seems to be it for new additions so far, unless reviewers have an embargo on post-game stuff like a second quest or something similar.

It's an entirely new, yet incomplete game, which is partially fixed by it's paid DLC.
Link's Awakening is a complete package, with a graphical overhaul (for the worse in my opinion) and new bonus content.

All in all, I'd say this is par for the course of Nintendo's bullshit.

>they sold tropical freeze for $60 despite being a 4 year old game at that point that sold for $50 new back then
Wow, that's fucking sad.
And I say this despite the fact that TF is one of my favorite platformers.

BoTW was not incomplete by any means without the DLC. The “base” game is easily 60-100 hours worth of content depending on your play style. If you slog the fuck through your playthrough of LA you can get maybe, MAYBE, 12 hours out of it. And that’s just playtime not even comparing the technological differences between the two

>2 minute shrine puzzles spread out over a gigantic open world you need to traverse to pad out play time means the game is more complete somehow
???

>massive 3D open world vs tiny 2D design
Neither game is incomplete, they're just differently designed. Of course it's inevitable to compare their prices based on hours required to complete them given they're being sold on the same system and they're asking for the same amount of money, but it's still not an ideal comparison.

Yeah, it's just wishful thinking really

Nintendo started coasting hard with the Switch after late last year. As soon as the Online Plan was introduced and didn't come to unanimous hatred, they locked down their bare minimum of shits they have to give to still stay profitable with the Switch. Outside of Joycon drift (and maybe Dexit but that's more on Game Freak's heads), they've been getting away pretty scot free with quarter-assed effort and borderline explicit contempt for their customers.

One is a fairly flawless, short experience.
The other is a lengthy and heavily flawed experience.
It's up to you what you think is worth paying for.

So let me see if I get you. If they decided to release DLC for this remake of LA, the game would magically become incomplete?

I find your reasoning to be autistic, and I will debate no further.

Attached: 1349221820631.jpg (558x529, 161K)

Not simply DLC. I wouldn't complain if BotW had legitimate addon content, it doesn't. They're selling hard mode, challenge modes and some quality of life patches. It would be free updates given out by a decent publisher but Nintendo is charging for it.

Breath of the Wild is way more worthy of full price than Link's Awakening. That said, I'm getting the latter anyway.

What amazes me is that Mario Odyssey also had stuff like extra costumes and a new mode but they were completely free, whereas in BOTW they weren't.
Honestly I wish all the cosmetic stuff was just patched into the game, paying for it first took away a lot of the fun of finding it organically, and having to pay for a hard mode and enemy gauntlet sucks ass too

Paying for it was bullshit enough, but hiding it all behind an all-or-nothing season pass which consisted of a whopping two major releases was atrocious. Especially when a good deal of the extra content was just recobbled base game content.

Max predicted all of this.

Attached: 323.jpg (2048x1686, 826K)

>You can't change that without fundamentally redesigning the game.
Yeah, you can. Just look at how the enemies move in any given gameplay trailer. There's no reason Link needs to be locked to 8 directions.
>Imagine how digging holes with shovel would work with analogue controls
The hole would appear on a certain tile, so I would just dig up/left/right/down of that tile.
>They used analogue in ALBW because the entire game was built ground-up to be played like that
They built this one from the ground-up too.

Which is why I'm skipping this, since I got LA DX for $5 on the 3DS eshop years ago.

Anyway, I think basing the prices on how "good" a game is, is too abstract of a concept, and would attract the worse possible practices, like turning $80 into the default of AAA games, or adding retarded taxes to "premium" games.
There is no way this ends well for the consumer.

This still doesn't deny the fact that this remake is a cashgrab.

Attached: 1502686525146.png (522x472, 47K)

>remake old game
>but it's a Zelda game
>people are instantly willing to pay more than they did for the original version of it
>costs even more than remakes made by other companies

Nintendo knows exactly what they are doing and can get away with.

Attached: Happy Merchant.gif (365x341, 2.91M)

Changing the subject a little, would you pay full price for a new 2D Zelda, even if it was as small as Link's Awakening?

>Not having a hacked switch so you can pirate all of the games
The only game worth paying to play online for is Mario Maker 2.

Only if it was as good as Link's Awakening.

I'd pay the full price of a 3DS game.

Just waiting on it to leak

Depends. If they keep going down the BotW and Link Between Worlds path of open level design then I'm not particularly interested. I much prefer the older metroid-like design where you obtain new tools in a set order and as a result encounter harder and harder puzzles that take advantage of previous puzzles that came before it. This is completely lost in modern Zelda, all the puzzles are disgustingly simple, or in the case of BotW half of them are completely broken by keeping a bunch of wood and flint in your pocket.

It's the exact same game but with no screen transition and lame undercooked Zelda Maker, why waste 60 fucking dollars on a nearly 1:1 remake of a still great and easily emulatable classic?

If it was a sequel to ALBW featuring that Link and still had a good amount of content, sure.
Yeah, it was pretty lame. But all the paywall shit in BOTW sucked ass, especially the throwback tunics and Epona not being obtainable in the base game.

This

Shit user you must hate Zelda 1 and Link to the Past then because those games already allowed you to do dungeons out of order without having to leave halfway through after getting the item.

BECAUSE YOU DON'T HAVE TO PAUSE AS MUCH 10/10 SO MUCH BETTER THAN THE CLUNKY OLD ORIGINAL
Seriously though why does this trigger so many people? I never had a problem with using the menu in the GB Zeldas. It certainly isn't as bad as OoT's pause menu

By saving my money.
>a complete package
>a package containing a 20+ year old game for $60 and few if any improvements.

I do hate Zelda 1, you're right. It's not a great game.
I don't see how Zelda 3 is an issue here though, there's a bunch of locations that are inaccessible until you obtain tools like the gloves, the boots, the hammer, the lamp, the fire rod, the hookshot. New areas open up constantly.
Unless you mean skipping it with glitches but I'm not sure that counts.

I really wish Nintendo fans would keep up the same attitudes towards software that they've had for Joycon drifting. That shit got loud enough for a lawsuit to brew up which in turn got Nintendo scared enough to start doing free repairs even outside of warranties (even if this was only made apparent via a leaked customer service memo and never any officiated announcement). And hey, remember when the original 2017 proposed plan for Online plan was so fucking badly received that Nintendo had to delay and change it? (yes, it was originally going to be even worse than it is now.) What the hell happened?

I'm amazed how okay everyone is with the mountain of cosmetic DLC in Smash.
Guess everyone is just having their spirits to resist slowly worn down.

>allowed you to do dungeons out of order without having to leave halfway through after getting the item
>ALttP
What? If you're not leaving dungeons halfway through then ALttP is pretty linear.

>I'm amazed how okay everyone is with the mountain of cosmetic DLC in Smash.
Nobody cares about the Mii Fighters.

I mean, every company does this sort of shit. But Nintendo is particularly stubborn when it comes to basic features like messaging friends online

1, 4, 2, 6, 3, 7, 5, 8.

That is a perfectly possible order of completing dungeons in the dark world without ever having to leave any dungeon halfway through.

Wait is this how tax works in America? So every time an American talks about games being $60 they're actually paying $65?

Taxes differ by country so the only way to mention a unified US price is before applying taxes.

I meant "by state".

Attached: 1568657829801.jpg (1200x1198, 395K)

IIRC, you can do dungeons 2, 3 or 4 right away after completing 1. Then you've got a bunch more options depending on which dungeon you do second (4 being most crucial as the Titan's Mitt opens up dungeons 5, 6 and 7).
I never really thought about it before but there are a ton of ways to handle the Dark World.

Perhaps they want to sell it to those who never played it?

The Amiibo outfits were the most Jewish bullshit imaginable for Nintendo. When you unpack it, it really was the most blatant way they've ever told players to go fuck themselves.
>$15 per Amiibo with unique clothes, but good luck finding the good Amiibo in stores anymore
>8 of these Amiibo with exclusive clothes in the base game, 4 more after DLC
>therefore Nintendo expected people to pay $120/180 if they wanted every piece of armor (Amiibo can be easily circumvented with tags/cards but I'm just going off of what they expected)
>except oh wait you can't have ALL of them at once with all the other base game and DLC armor because you're short just one fucking spot in the armor menu
>oh wait also Nintendo expects players to put up with a ridiculous bullshit ONCE A DAY PER FIGURE lottery to TRY for the retardedly low odds to get something you want instead of regular garbage you can easily find in the base game world (you can save scum if you're that dead set on a piece of clothing or exclusive weapon but that's still obnoxious with how long the loading is in BotW)
>insult to injury, none of these clothes can be dyed and most of them require ludicrous amounts of rare shit to upgrade, (for example, the Twilight set requires 19 Topaz and 10 Star Fragments for a full upgrade, PER PIECE), only to yield middling upgrade stats and a shitty bonus (most of the Link throwbacks just grant a miniscule strength boost for the Master Sword beam attack)

skipping a 10 hour game for $90 leaf dollars. I already bought fire emblem, Ass chain, and Daemon last month. I can skip a bland remake.

I'm thankful I only ever bought the nfc cards.

Good luck to them, zoomers i know don't give a shit about cutesy top down singleplayer games, they're all about twitch gameplay and sandbox experiences.

I have this unfounded paranoid conspiracy that they KNOW this probably won't do well with many of the newcomers brought in from BotW despite claiming that this remake is for them, so that they can basically sabotage classic Zelda and justify only doing lazy open world Zelda games from now on.

Honestly I was really looking forward to this as I've never played the original and love the art style. But $60 for a 5-hour game is just insulting, I can't justify paying that when I've been able to get over 50 hours out of Hollow Knight so far and that cost me less than $10. I'd pay 30, MAYBE 40, but not 60. I'll wait a couple of years and get a physical copy second hand maybe.

Would probably explain why the price is as high as it is.

I might just play the original, it's the same experience
no way I would pay any more than £30 for a straight remake of Game Boy game
and that's WITH the Nintendo bonus

i agree that it's too much but let's get this straight
it's NOT a 5 hour game
it's honestly closer to 15 for a normal playthrough

But it doesn't have DLC so it is worth the full price! You just don't understand, user.

Why are people so reluctant to buy this, a 10 hour game but Kirby Star Allies and Splatoon 2, which are like 3 hour games are ok?

Kirby Star allies is a pretty awful game from what I've seen, heard. Splatoon 2 has replayability with all the events and multiplayer aspect. This just has an 8-10 hour campaign with absolutely 0 replay value.

If you bought Splatoon for the full price to just play single player, then you deserved to pay it just for your stupidity.

Yeah, it sucks.
Hopefully they have the amiibo shit obtainable in the base game for the next one

>Got that game day one
>By the time it got worthwhile content Smash Ultimate came out
What a waste.

i already finished the original, whats the point of this one?

Which one, Kirby? I played the demo and just couldn't get into it. I still go back to Nes Dreamland all the time. Surprised nu-kirby is just stupid screen clearing, hand holding, garbage.

Play Robobot instead. Easily the best Kirby game. Star Allies is such shit compared to it.

thinly veiled, tacked on dungeon maker, to sell more amiibo.

Star Allies, it took way too damn long to get content worth playing and even then it is mostly shallow.

>How are you prepping yourself for Link's Awakening on Friday?
Trying to finish Astral Chain.

>buying daemon x machina
>supporting Cancerous

I hope no one spoilers the end.
The Island is just the windfishes dream and everything vanishes after he wakes up.

Sorry to spoil it for you newfags now go to hell

>Watch a Q&A about the game
>It is pretty much a one for one remake with the amiibo feature and the dungeon builder
That's disappointing.

oh nooo now I know the ending which makes the entire game more meaningful as I go along aaaaaaa

>on Friday

What the goddamn hell I just barely finished Astral Chain and started Daemon x Machina

>Dragon Quest 11 S at the end of the month

Fucking christ, Nintendo, space this shit out.

Attached: 1563153749803.jpg (1280x720, 146K)

>All those games coming out in October
It is fucking painful.

Nintendo UK already spoiled it in their trailer.
youtube.com/watch?v=ZROB4TnYH_I

It will probably be dry as fuck after Christmas too.

Oh well, time to add to the backlog...

amazin' good to hear

NSP where? can't find it. not worth $60 but definitely can't wait to play it.

Attached: zeldacringe.jpg (2048x1580, 462K)

They will but I need a break for March.

>definitely can't wait to play it.
Then buy it, ya faggot

Tropical Freeze was good. Definitely worth $60. It's 4 years old but no one has a Wii U

I don't, since I can just play the GBC version which unironically looks better than this soulless new graphics style whenever i choose to

Attached: 1445739448892.jpg (680x680, 108K)

the reason for that is the incoming tax increase in japan
if you remember back then when they increased it it literally killed the economy both times and it's going to happen again
that's exactly why nintendo is shitting out all these games now

Fuck off retard

fuck you. I'm not paying $60 for an HD 3DS game remake from the Gameboy. I'm pirating this shit.

>I can just play the GBC version which unironically looks better than this soulless new graphics style whenever i choose to

Pffft! The GBC version is shite compared to the original GameBoy verison. The colour totally ruins the game and shits all over the art style and atmosphere of the original. The devs never intended it to be played in colour!!!

Why should I bother with the GBC version when I can play the original whenever I want

>Tokyo Mirage in January
>Smash Fighter Pack 5 in February
>Animal Crossing in March
>traditional early year Direct to wind up Q1/Q2 in late January to February
>Xenoblade Chronicles definitive remaster eventually

I think the 2018/early 2019 drought was more just a side effect of EPD/associated projects not being ready yet, or stuff like Metroid Prime 4 development needing to be restarted.
But a new Zelda is coming out this week, Animal Crossing is coming out next year and that'll probably involve half its team getting involved in post-launch stuff while the other half moves onto Splatoon 3 probably.
I would place my money on EPD Tokyo(3D Mario team) putting out either a 3D World port or something built off Odyssey's base, either an expansion pack, sequel or just something using the engine/system they developed in 2020.
EPD 9 is probably going to be busy with Mario Kart Tour's rollout for a good long while.
Only ones that are suspiciously quiet are the 2-3 teams that work on Tomodachi, Warioware, Rhythm Heaven, etc. The Pikmin guys, or at least the meat of them were on Mario Maker 2 since they're usually involved in NSMB stuff, but that's wrapped up too.

Regardless, I think Nintendo knows Animal Crossing can carry the Switch for a good long ass while, since it'll be the last of the big Nintendo tentpoles missing from Switch so I wouldn't be surprised if Nintendo is planning to use the first half of 2020 as its "dry period."

just imagine him shaking you around irl like that, it would piss you off

You have some weird fucking taste

I'm not because I already beat it 20 years ago, thanks for inquiring.

Link Awakening was the thing that made me love video games. It was the first game I ever beat. It holds an absolutely tremendous place in my heart.

The remake looks like fucking shit. It's all been said before, but unless Nintendo's hiding something secret, they are scamming people based off nostalgia. $60 is horrendously unacceptable. You know- you goddamn know, that if this was the exact same product, put up under a different non-Zelda IP, it'd be $30.

Titan's Mitt also opens up the Tempered Sword.

It's pretty easy to blaze through D4, it's one of the shortest in the game, though Blind is a bit of a bitch.

You NEED the Hookshot to start D6, the Fire Rod for the first enemy in D5, and the Cane from D6 to start and navigate D7.

I'm hoping for an Odyssey sequel myself. That game had so much potential but there were a couple areas where it fell a bit short. We've seen plenty of the goalpost style Mario games in the past generation.

Will it be a complete remake, or will they add new characters, sidequests, and plotlines not in the original?

Attached: linkle_inquisitive.webm (480x700, 3M)

It's a five hour game. It's also 25 years old, and can be purchased for $5 on the Nintendo e-shop.

The only thing they've shown is a "dungeon maker," which allows you to plop prefabricated rooms together.

Currently playing through the DX version, again. I see no reason to "upgrade" to the remake.

From a Q&A I just listened to you are getting a pretty standard remake in the vain of MM3D minus the drastic mechanic changes. The minigames are improved and you get the dungeon maker but at the same time the dungeon maker is the replacement for the photo system the original had.

Seasons had better combat and visuals. Ages had better puzzles, but like said, parts of the game become a slog. In addition to the zora section, I'd say the goron sections dragged on a bit too long, and the time shifting also slows things down a lot.

Whats with the bitching when it comes to price? I thought this game was similar to Link Between Worlds in terms of a remake

Attached: 1478425334395.webm (1280x720, 2.25M)

>Currently playing through the DX version, again. I see no reason to "upgrade" to the remake.

This will be the coping mantra for the next few weeks on this board.

Attached: ST-CREW.png (730x478, 638K)

Fucking nigger. I love LA but $60 for this is way too much. BotW base game alone was long as fuck with tons of content.

Link Between Worlds is a 3DS game that just takes place in the same world as ALttP. All the dungeons are completely unique in terms of layout. This game is just 1:1 the old game but with new graphics and some slight changes to stuff like minigames.

That guy in the last pic looks perfectly fine.

Waiting for my paycheck to arrive so i can get it.

This is going to be a game people pretend they're happy with for a month or so, until eventually they'll be able to look back and say "that wasn't very good."

Don't really give a shit. Would have preferred a brand new top-down Zelda.

DX is a straight downgrade from the monochrome version because it made an easy game even easier.

I heard there is content locked behind Amiibo. That really pisses me off. Link's Awakening is a short game, $60 is already asking too much for it imo.

Attached: 1202637983840.jpg (704x400, 15K)

Nice trips, but you're wrong. It's a shot for shot remake with nothing but a "dungeon maker" with preset rooms as new content.

I bought a link funco pop and i lost my anal virginity

Links Awakening is better than most video games released in the past 25 years. I play it every year on emulator.

Now I have an absolutely gorgeous deluxe remake with all kinds of gameplay improvements.

This is the kind of game that haters will pretend they don't want but they really do.

But sadly the damage will be quite done by then and this will have been enough of a success to forever ruin the notion of a traditional Zelda revival. From now on, the only options for Zelda will be the open world meme or Fisher Price toys.

People had that complaint? I never had an issue with it in the oracle games.

>with all kinds of gameplay improvements.

"Uh, uh... I guess you don't have to press the start button as much?"

I can’t get over how the game looks. I’m not usually one to care about graphics over gameplay but it looks too strange for me.

People are just going to invent problems with the original or DX to justify paying 60 bucks on a remake.

Yawn. Maybe you should read up.

Or don't. I don't give a fuck.

I replayed the original a year ago, and I found it to be mildly annoying. Wasn't even an issue I thought of as a kid.

This guy is right, though. The remake offers so little to the game, they've gotta find something to make it seem like a good investment.

I just can't get into this game. The artstyle is a huge turnoff for me. I just really wish the artstlye could've been the same as the cutscene. I know it's a dream or whatever bit still.
Anyways I'll have Ni No Kuni and Dragon Quest 11 to play anyways, and I still need to finish Astral Chain.

Attached: 1568394320226.jpg (723x1024, 125K)

Don't respond to the copypasta falseflagging "fanboy". It's such obvious bait.

The game is a literal one to one remake with barely anything original. Not much to get ready for.

>Charging full price for a 1:1 remake of an old Game Boy game with 3DS-tier graphics
I love Link's Awakening as much as the next guy but you can't defend this. If it were $20-$40 it would be perfect.

Its going to be fucking hysterical watching this board lose its shit later this week - getting BTFO after months and months of shitposting and desperately trying to cope by living in denial.

I cannot wait. I'll take a little time off from playing and laugh at the losers on Yea Forums.

Attached: 1529531556563.gif (207x207, 1.37M)

What are people denying? I know for a fact Link's Awakening is a good game. A 1:1 remake for $60 is not a good investment though.

Frankly I'm sad, cause I was just hoping for more.

>You NEED the Hookshot to start D6
No, you don't. You can dash-jump into the blocks to clear that gap

Also, you can use Bombos instead of the Fire Rod for the first guy in D5

imagine unironically paying $59,99 for a rom with new graphics

Attached: 1527711890675.png (527x527, 96K)

>How are you prepping yourself for Link's Awakening on Friday?

By resolving to not get it.
It's 80 Canadian dollars and despite me loving Link's Awakening and it being the first Zelda game I ever played: I'm not going to let myself be manipulated by nostalgia into paying full price for a game that's maybe 4-6 hours long with no real replayability. At least not until I see what they've added 'new' to the game.

Lesson 1: Nobody cares how poor you are.

Videogames are a cheap hobby. If you can read this, you’re most likely on a device capable of playing hundreds of great videogames, and for practically free. You can emulate DOS games, SNES games, arcade games in MAME, adventure games in ScummVM, and countless others. There are classics throughout the medium which are just as essential to play as any game you might not have the means for yet. You could be a blessing to yourself and others by expanding your tastes, discovering underrated gems, and sharing them. You could play DoDonPachi, Another World, Mother 3, Osman, The Colonel’s Bequest, A Mind Forever Voyaging, The Silver Case, DOOM II (you could spend a year just playing DOOM WADs and continuously be surprised), one-credit-clear a Metal Slug, get good at StarCraft, or just forget about having taste and waste your life playing clicker MOBAs (but please don’t post about anything other than clicker MOBAs if you do this).

Yet people aren’t content with having several lifetimes of free entertainment available to them, so they feel the need to complain about videogames that cost money, or that require hardware (PC or console) that costs money, or that have in-game purchases or subscriptions. They dress up their complaints using concepts like “value”, “product”, “consumer rights”, and other bullshit that has nothing to do with the actual quality of the game to someone who has no problem affording it.

If this came out early this year when Switch was having a bit of a drought, I would have bought it. But Dragon Quest XI S is out the following week, I am still playing Fire Emblem, I still have not played Astral Chain, etc. So I'm going to pass for now.

Nobody cares how poor you are. You might see other poor people shrieking similarly, but they will not help you become less poor and to live a better life. They might at best conspire to make a game less fiscally aggressive, such as with microtransactions, but generally these aspects are trivial (cosmetics) or the game simply did not really appeal to you to begin with (Artifact). You might insist that you’re not poor, but that you have a fixed value limit of what a videogame can be worth (“I paid sixty dollars!”), and this is far worse: spiritual poverty. Nobody cares. It is off-topic and detrimental to videogame discussion. Cost has nothing to do with the only valuation of a videogame that matters, which is whether they are even worth your time. It is certainly worth nobody’s time to argue about the price of videogames other than the people selling them. If you can’t afford them, don’t buy them, and please shut the fuck up about them and focus on what you can enjoy. It’s better for everyone that way.

“In plain words: The more dollars in one’s bank account, the less valuable each individual dollar seems to be. To the heir of a Middle Eastern kingdom, 10,000+ dollars for the super deluxe version of After Burner Climax will doubtless seem like chump change, whilst the Darfur refugee, who barely managed to scrape together the Sudanese pound equivalent of five bucks by scavenging the corpses of his fellow villagers after they were massacred by rampaging bandits, would no doubt balk at the thought of spending it all to download Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved.”

FUCK NINTENDO

Attached: jewtendo.png (1200x1286, 737K)

...

I'll probably pass, LA is one of my favorite zelda games but I don't think this is worth 60 dollars.

I mean, those were all remasters rather than HD ports. It would be like complaining that The Twin Snakes was full price despite being the same basic game as MGS1

I kinda feel the same. I'm a leaffag too, though I have it on Amazon preorder for $60, and that's better than $80, considering Zelda games almost never go down in price

>hylian shield

cringe

>the company that sold chargers separately from their handhelds are being Jews
Color me fucking shocked

Attached: 1517886755533.png (421x476, 529K)

i wish i could justify buying it because it's one of my favorites but between fire emblem, astral chain, and dq11 i don't want to spend that much on a such a short game

Isn't Yea Forums constantly full of threads about remakes and remasters being "soulless" and of less quality than the original? If you've ever been on that bandwagon, and support this, you're a hypocrite.

If Nintendo was cutting up LA or Xenoblade into parts to sell you like the garbage FF7 Remake, then you can talk, till then, kindly fuck off.

I'm not, I already played the original without Funko Pop eyes at least a decade ago.

I'm fully aware of how idiotic this is, but I was all ready to jump in until I found out the photographs are no more. They were some of my favorite content in the game as a kid. I was ready to pay full price for nostalgia coated in pretty paint, but they're not even giving it complete?

there's a screenshot button now

Literally happens with every game, you fucking retard. Wind Waker, Shadow of the Colossus, Mario, Kirby. If you're letting some base level of excitement, or nostalgia cloud what you normally wouldn't think is acceptable behavior, you're being an idiot.

Waiting for the leak that will most likely come earlier than that.

Wind Waker was an HD texture pack (And a lighting engine no one wanted)
MGS2/3 HD also have new HD textures so you're getting twice the remaster for less

Don't be daft. I'm talking the mouse photographer and the pics he'd take of you through the journey. Always found it incredibly charming and was, alongside Pokemon Snap, a great inspiration for my kid self to get into professional photography. Like I'm aware it's not a big deal overall but given how short the game already is, that they cut content on top of that doesn't sit well with me. No reason they couldn't have had both the mouse and Dampe.

>I'm fully aware of how idiotic this is, but I was all ready to jump in until I found out the photographs are no more.

This was actually an anti-selling point for me as well.

>there's a screenshot button now

The original photograph thing in Link's Awakening had nothing to do with taking screenshots, it was a sort of side quest unto itself with situations, dialogue, and rewarded you with a gallery of unique artwork. With the entire side quest gone and replaced with Damphe, so too are all the cute little character interactions and the hope of a fully coloured and re-imagined gallery of all these cute moments.

Attached: cutscenes[1].png (659x591, 64K)

Does america not have a functional second hand market?
>Just bought Astral Chain for 40 EU second hand
>When I'm done with it I'll sell it for 40

>implying that's not exactly what Aonuma wants
>implying this isn't a final "fuck you, baka-gajin!" from the people who've spent the past couple of decades pushing Wind Waker as the default for Zelda's look and feel

I'm conflicted now. Should i buy the Switch Snes controller or this?

>Literally happens with every game
I didn't bother reading past this rubbish.

Fuck off. I agree with the other guy. A gameboy remake isn't worthy of $60. If it was $20, I would have bought it but Nintendo had to get greedy so I'm downloading the NSP.

Because you have no argument.

Yeah, you win. Go high five all your friends.

Attached: 1479693654570.jpg (1080x878, 131K)

Do you really want this quest with Funko Pop eyes? Dodged a bullet real talk.

I stacked discounted eShop cards with the voucher deal so this comes out to about $40 for me.

Conversely, nobody gives a shit how rich you are, except when your retarded whale-ass funds terrible shit like happily paying twice as much for a port of a game for no reason or funding gacha shit. Then you're setting a bad precedent and everything gets infected. Imagine bragging about being that fucking stupid with your wallet.

leak when

I would not spend $60 on this game. However, my wife wants to buy it for me because she knows I was fond of the original, and she thinks it looks cute. So basically, I am still spending $60 on it. Guess I'll just go ahead and enjoy it.

>and new bonus content.
user... bad news...

As much as I love the original I'm probably not buying this. From what we've seen it's just a1:1 remake with dungeon maker. Would love to be wrong tho

I'll pick it up when it's on sale for $30 or less.

You'll be waiting till Nintendo's next device is out. Only reason I'm not buying LA right away is because plenty of other games out this season. If it came out earlier in the year when Switch didn't have much, I would have gotten it then.

It's one of many such inconsequential points of GameXShills' "TOP 10 WELCOME CHANGES IN LINK'S AWAKENING" or whatever the video was called.

Right here
romsmode.com/roms/gameboy-color/legend-of-zelda-the-link-s-awakening-dx-v1-2-376440

This is unfortunately first party, I wouldn't expect it to drop below $50 for a couple years at least.

I'm more interested in the changes that the review sites are hinting at, such as bosses being made harder.
I cannot help but think that they are hiding something, even aside from hero mode

Imagine being a grown ass man and being excited for this game.

too much sharing these days

sounds pretty fuckin comfy, man.

I'm damn certain most people bitching about the price either never played the original or had no intention of buy it at $40 anyway. Its an amazing looking remake of the most underrated Zelda game. Finally getting the attention it deserved? I've spent $60 on much worse.

It is 1:1 but thats the point.
Theres also hero mode, where enemies deal double damage and no heart drops. And 6 more heart containers, a handful of seashells, and a handful of dolls you can decorate NPC houses with. Thats it for extra content.

>or less
lmao never

Ninty first party games have a very low depreciation, which is why I will be buying physical. It will be $50 or $40 for 2 years or longer, depending on how well it sells. $100 if you want the collectors edition, god forbid. BOTW is still $40 and this game is going to sell less physical copies= higher price. I don't see this ever going below $30.

No reason the photos couldn't have been in the style of the opening cutscene

In my shithole country the game has already arrived to the stores, where is the nsp/xci leak??

I refuse to buy this until they fix the framerate problems.

I'm sure Nintendo will really be sore over your withholding $60.

the music is a fucking bomb
how did they screw up tal tal heights

>download emulator (free)
>download rom (free)
>play a better version that isnt injected with an awful pop figure style
No the shitty dungeon maker isnt good. You only have pre set rooms to work with. Absolute shit compared to something like mario maker

Attached: 1559384493905.png (400x394, 107K)

>'grown ass man'
Time for your applesauce, grampa.

I'm so hyped for it. Picking it up with Astral Chain on October since i'm still finishing up Odyssey, then picking up Luigi's Mansion and Pokemon on November.

The new minigame theme is fire

By waiting till it drops to a worthwhile price.

Nintendo should be sore that Grezzo couldn't even manage a solid 60 fps.

I'm just looking forward to the OST.

Attached: linkle_surprised.webm (810x720, 3M)

You're the one missing out.

what framerate problems?

Mabe Village remix sucks too
