Looks like you got filtered OP. It's ok, most people can't make the cut.
hav fun
>does not counter the lightning
now that i think about it, does anti air deathblow work on him?
Last phase is the easiest.
No. Despite it being the sickest shit when you pull it off on the few enemies it works on, you can't use it on bosses.
He's not even hard user.
I'm stuck on the first Owl fight though.
You can do it to the shichimen warrior if you have confetti on.
When he jumps, you have to jump with your guard up. Your sword will charge with the thunder. Wait an instant and draw a blow. You will stun the fucker. Good luck OP, yesterday I got Immortal Severance ending and I am sad as fuck
Imagine still getting rekt by Jobichiro in September lol
holy shit I just managed to counter the electricity twice and almost killed him but he fuck me anyway
Yeah, there are a few "mini-bosses" you can anti-air. For example, the lightning soccerball dude at the forbidden palace.
Best fight in the game when its still new. Now its a little too easy, but at the time it was a fantastic skill check.
I hate this sort of thing. I'm fine with bosses having multiple phases (to a poiint), but when I empty the healthbar, it should be dead, not pull another one out of its ass.
Im probably just too old for these games.
I beat DS1/2/3. I know that I could beat that guy, but after 8 tries, I just didnt want to try more times and uninstalled the game.
souls fatigue I guess
I know I'm too casual for this game. It's a perferct game to watch someone else go through. It looks like it loses it's fun factor 8 hours in and turns to straight tedium.
Sounds more like you’re refusing to play the game the way it’s supposed to and treating it like souls and getting frustrated. Serves you right soulsfag.
>gives up only after 8 tries
>came from DS
I bet you were trying to play Sekiro like a Dark Souls game.
AND IT IS DONE
IT IS FUCKING DONE
HES FUCKING DEAD
FUCK YOU YOU PIECE OF SHIT
HAHA
This. I am fucking laughing my ass off right now, good god.
>you wasted all your resources to finally beat me
>let me touch you because you opened the door slowly and it's instant game over and you have to redo all the fight again
Just watched the ending on youtube,
>I bet you were trying to play Sekiro like a Dark Souls game
Nah, I learned that lesson when I killed the granny boss
Genichiro is a bottom bitch.
That's what the Pixiv artists' union has made clear.
With this game I learned to enjoy combat. Last night I immediately started the second game, with no amulet and the demon bell. It's really going to be a challenge. I am struck by how FROM addressed the difficulty levels so that there is an even bigger challenge in NG+. Now I will have to think about the blocking and not spamming the shit out of the button. Already with the first mini boss I thought totally different last night. It is impressive what Miyazaki and his team have achieved with this game in all areas. For me personally, it's a 10/10 beauty.
You're like a little baby. Watch this.
That fight brought out the best in me.
>red circles represent the number of deathblows required to kill the enemy
>multiple bosses pop back up with a new bar for phase 2 effectively ignoring the rule the game set
I like Sekiro, but this was my one complaint.
What's the point of this pasta
Look at this fucking baby.

I don't care what anyone says, the ost and sound design for this fight was perfect
all i hear is fucking bullshit
I never knew what anime meant by 'enjoying a fight' until this.
So you did not kill him genius.
>shinobi execution
>It's not.
I respected because I love well executed 4th wall breaking and it really subverted expectations for me.
Is not, I wrote it again because some typos.
I played my first run without music because the work of Yuka Kitamura makes me very sad. Is good music, but in general terms makes me feel depressed. However, it seems that for some people the music helps them to overcome the obstacles that the game presents.
ended up doing so though
feels good
now I have no idea where to go
Gen16 is easy though. The combat in this game is just a rhythm mini-game. Only his "flying passage" combo is dangerous, because it's literally impossible to deflect every single hit in, some will always be a regular guard. But it has a long and obvious wind-up so you can just dodge back and only deflect the final strike for a free mikiri bait.
And the third phase is a freebie anyway, because of the lightning reversal.
You do not need to guard in the air to do the lighting reversal. You just need to get hit in the air and discharge it before you land.
But you do need to have non zero HP, because the lightning still does a little bit of damage when you get hit in the air.
The most satisfying moments are the fraction of a second when, after each well-blocked impact, your sword and your enemy's weapon back against each other and the speed drops smoothly and the silence expands for another fraction of a second until the next blow. It's basically a dance. Through this game I understood why melee weapons can be considered "human" in the sense of the sacredness they are able to carry. Clearly you can't get something like that with firearms [spoilers]unless you read The Dark Tower.[/spoilers]
Another important aspect of the game it is the strong allusions to the end of an era. Genichiro loses his humanity in order to save the system in which he grew up and in which he believes. I can't stop thinking about it considering the times in which we live.
>Im probably just too old for these games.
I'm 30 and platinumed Sekiro. It was fun. Although it didn't have much content, sadly.
The toughest part was indeed to forget how to play Souls games and start playing it like you're supposed to.
What part of “shadows die twice” didn’t you understand?
Beautiful.
I'm over 30, died so many times my hand hurt and still finished the game. Took me days to beat some bosses.
This is interesting, I've talked to a lot of Souls and BB veterans and they all report the same feeling of exhaustion. Even before the game was released, they did not show a lot of interest or enthusiasm for it. However I think it's okay, but I don't know if this sense of burnout it's because of game mechanics. I really want to hear the perceptions of people who have played the previous titles. Their opinions of the story and lore are a thing that really want to hear from them.
Is it the missing arm a very recurrent thing in Miyazaki's works? even the Sakura Dragon has an arm amputated
>I've talked to a lot of Souls and BB veterans
How many "veterans" did you talk to? Two? Three?
Genichiro is a jobber, you just suck.
>GRANDPA HELP ME
I think so, in person, approximately that number. Friends and acquaintances. Maybe four. But I've also picked up perceptions of this board and YT channels and they all share a very similar pattern. At least on release.
I wasn't too excited for it because I knew it would be linear and have poor replay value. And it did, even though I ended up liking the game.
I've got him on my second try, however owl fucks my shit up
>have to fuck up Jobichiro every time I die
The fucker does only take 30 seconds at most but still, just let me skip straight to Isshin
>evading the wind slashes
Casul
I'm closer to 40 than 30
just keep at it faggot
>put some distance between him and you
>wait for shuriken into flip attack
>side dodge, spin attack
>repeat until he's dead
yeah i noticed that pattern, i usually getting bored and I start trying some stupid shit that gets me killed
I played this fight so many times that i went from struggling against the genichiro phase to completely shitstomping it stupidly fast. That feeling of getting gud and actually overcoming something not by just leveling up or getting new equipement is what makes this game so much fucking worth it.
Besides it's a great fucking boss fight, can't wait for the sequel
>look I only have 1 bar
>haha jk I had another only it didn't show :)
DLC with prime shinobis bosses when?
Sekiro is 100 million times better than both Dark Souls sequels. Having build variety doesn't matter when the game sucks, I just started DaS3 again for the first time in well over a year and beat Vordt. I used to defend High Wall as a good area, but really it sucks, the whole game fucking sucks.
>MFW you finally beat the fucker after 4 hours because you're too autistic to use any prothesis tool or combat art and you only want to parry him to death
>Side dodge
Fucking casuals I swear, parry him like a man
35 year old drug addled boomer here. Sekiro was tough but I applied myself now I can beat most bosses first try.
All that while parrying the shit he throws at you of course. There one charge of is that I'm not sure is parryable tho, the one that pushes you back with your katana in the ground.
Nigger you can part everything but kanji grab and sweeps. You can even party th stabs
>after 8 tries
You probably fell for the "I only died 3-4 times per boss" posts. Take a break. Come back the next day. Your muscle memory stays with you. I died to the final boss 8 times a day for a week before finally finishing the game. It doesn't have to take up a lot of time either, just dedication and constancy. And it feels really good when you finally get it.
I was able to get past charmless Emma without taking a single hit 5 times after dying 15 to Isshin's second phase. Muscle memory is a blessing. The human brain is a beautiful thing to behold.
>it's not hard just bait him for into the same attack for 10 hours!
fucking plebs why would you even play a game if this is your strategy, so fucking boring the actual way to beat Owl is to stay in his face and attack, sidestep his counter and get hits in until his health is low enough to build posture up
how the fuck do I get to the sunken valley?
lol i was going to post this screencap but Yea Forums said that it had already been posted in this thread
is that even possible to take the same exact screenshot pixel by pixel or did you save mine from another thread?
No point deflecting something that doesn't inflict posture damage on the boss. Like projectiles.
>t. never played a Fromsoft game
No DLC huh?
Sorry, no Tomoe Gozen boss.
elden ring better be really good
It's going to be impossible for me to go back to being a rolling tank after Sekiro though.
I beat that boss fight yesterday, Emma is a really interesting boss. She has good technique but she eats shit against any and all ninja tricks, probably to show how she's a competent but inexperienced fighter.
God damn I just can't believe how good this game is but the steep curve to actually get good is so far in I'm certain most people just quit without trying.
MY BLOOD IS BOILING SEKIRO
Prosthetic tools are mostly irrelevant outside of specific enemies they're supposed to hard counter. And out of all combat arts only like two are actually worth using, because they're marginally better than your regular punishes.
Nope. Sequel instead.
>>jk lol another phase
It's magnificent though. Genichiro mimics the player character in most of everything, the main difference being that Genichiro despite his best efforts ends up being worse at like everything.
quit the game during second owl fight, i actually find out how to beat him, just doing something for mins w/o a mistake, this is too autistic for me.
i hope elden ring wont fall in to this pit.
>heh, nuthin personnel, but the rules don't apply to me...
The pit of being able to pull off something well?
one of my favorite parts of sekiro is genny pushing your shit in over and over in his proper boss fight, then you fight him again as part of the final boss and he's like an annoying fly, great sense of progress of a player's skill rather than just numbers.
>fight this fucker
>can't romance him
fuck you
These games peaked with Bloodborne.
>can't fuck the shota
>nor Emma
>nor Genny
>but rice loli? Travel to the west with her
Yikes
I saved it from another thread. Wholesome moment.
lack of variety
Follows the pattern of this game having basically no content.
Sounds like you're just a little bitch.
I swear Papa Owl 2.0 was the only time these japanese fucks have ever shown the "this is my prime strenght" meme, and delivered because it was fantastic
This is fucked up. Geni was a good guy.
it is canceled, due to massive number of quitters
Everything is as it should be.
OP here
now the Guardian Ape is raping me
>He doesn't know
Enjoy the bug OP
I feel this way as well, I never get stuck on any game or anything, but sometimes with the From Soft games I do get tired of playing them cuz I can never just relax and enjoy them, when I get to a boss that I know is gonna take several tries it just kind of ruins the fun, like I know i can beat it, cuz I always beat it after trying it and learning it over time, but I dont enjoy the process anymore
honestly this
"yikes" yourself, mister
>30
you're not old. Don't fall for the boomer meme
I didn't even bother with the reverse lightning crap, just threw some firecrackers under that bitch ass when he jumped in the air and that was about it
I wasn't interested at first because I'm not interested in feudal japanese settings but once I tried it, I loved it. The story wasn't that interesting but the combat was a very welcome change from souls games.
30 here and I aced the game. Apply yourself.
they're making an easy mode dlc
He based
This. I get frustrated very easily but I didn't get angry at all even though it took me hours to get him. I did get angry at the filler Genichiro since his black fire attack would sometimes clip me while I was behind him and make me waste healing.
his balck fire is why I ran umbrella.
Very safe and made it last even less.
seethe
Wew lad. You're in for some ass pain for sure.
Went back and got all the achievements recently. I remember fighting Isshin on NG+3 or 4, and for some reason I was having the hardest time. Things that I normally blocked fine were destroying me. Genichiro was hitting me with sweeps, despite my properly timing the jump. It was almost as if it were random. After an hour or two, I put it down.
Then I came back the next day and one-shot it with barely an issue. The issues happened again after a somewhat long session. Made me wonder if there's some kind of memory leak in the engine. After resetting, everything seemed to work more coherently. It was super weird.
Killed his 2 phases and I got the memory... guessing there's a brown monkey somewhere from the memes?
All three ds games are amazing. None of them have more flaws than the others
Dark Souls is baby tier Fromsoft.
The brown monkey you're referring to is the only boss fight I hate. I doesn't matte which playthrough, it's fucking annoying. If you're thinking about going charmless on NG+ you'll understand what I'm talking about.
>playing trail and errorsoft games
wait i misquoted kek
He becomes the easiest boss in the game after NG. You basically spend hours grinding this guy until you’re a true shinobi and steam roll everything after genichiro until demon of hatred.
Literally the easiest boss in the game, now glock saint isshin on the other hand
>demon of hatred.
>all the times I died from him ignoring my parry because he was slightly above me due to uneven terrain
fuck you old man, I even gave you free booze
>Thank you wolf
That hurts. A lot.
>boss has 2 health bars
>joking he has more lol
butterfly and the gorilla were the only times that was cool
I hate when he does the charge and it doesn't even have to be near you to do damage, not sure why jumping when he does it pretty much breaks it or if that's what they intended.
I literally died to demon more than isshin because of that bullshit, jumping when he choreographs it felt so unnatural.
>the charge and it doesn't even have to be near you to do damage
Nor does he even have to be facing you.
