pirated it, played for 20 mins and refunded. The low budget shit and shitty graphics is cringe. Also the combat is braindead stupid, just play wizard and shoot magic missiles till you can shoot the big attack
*uninstalled i mean
>not using correct version
Based.
I need to sleep.
Also I'm mad at how they did the Naut tattoo quest. I want that stupid tattoo.
because it's shit
Greedfall is a pile of buggy garbage though, why should I play something like that
Fucking this. I'm not sure if I'll even agree on tattoo, but I still want to see those dialogue options and join Nauts.
RENOUNCE
So what's the best build in the game?
nexusmods.com
Now that a good shit
Stasis is useless, pistols and long blades seems to be the way to go. Dump everything in strength and endurace, and upgrade both crafting to 1, and charisma to 2 which will become 3 with the +1 merchant cape, and you'll destroy this game.
>Stasis is useless
Retard spotted
spell and trap
women are all ugly and it constantly preaches to you about "white men bad!"
Source?
>Herio
Nice taste op
Not sure if intentionally bad advice or not becasue pistols + long blades + statis is the strongest build.
>Can't make Caradeg listen to me without 2+ intuition
>Can only threaten him and lose reputation with Siora
Stellar.
looks lame as shit honestly. the art and characters look very mediocre.
>pirated and refunded
this is the future, getting money from game publishers for wasting your time with a game you did not pay for, mark my words!
well you can technically do that with steam, gog and epic
steam you can emulate games you've downloaded after refunding and epic doesn't track keys from refunds to deactivate them.
I'll be the one to ask
source?
there is nothing that appeals to me about the game
i've heard the gameplay is shit and I don't like movie games
20 hours in and so far i'm having a much better time with GreedFall than with The Witcher 1.
Really hoping this game get a good sequel. For the first time i have hopes for SPIDERS.
This game needed a dev console just for things like resetting quests to solve your problem
I was thinking of doing something like this but I've seen many people doing this "battlemage" build with blunt weapons, what's the best of the two?
>I don't like movie games
Is... Is this what zoomers call games with an actual plot?
Words hard
>tfw no legate gf
So since the "nations" here are guild based.
Are there non-merchants in the congregation of merchants?
source me up senpai
here i found it
There are poorfags, smiths, farmers and so on, merchant houses just run the nation.
why is this game so popular on Yea Forums, is it just a really successful viral marketing campaign?
The combat is awful regardless of which route you take, the dialogue is horrible, the character customization (both visual and stat wise) is barebones compared to other games and the RPG element are really weak.
Just broke the 25 hour mark myself, it's starting to overstay its welcome a bit, so I'm gonna start playing around with my build and take some quality of life attributes like crafting just to speed up the annoying parts.
>the dialogue is horrible
[Attack]
is there a version of this that just replaces charisma bonus with other bonuses instead of giving 2/3
it felt like i was playing a nu-bioware game.
I don't understand why every time Yea Forums disagrees with itself the first thing the people whom disagree think of is a successful raid.
Do we really have to talk about weebtitty games, Mass Effect, and tripple A titles we hate all day? And if Yea Forums loves Mass Effect 1 and 2 so much, is it really that weird they're cheering for a company trying to be Bioware's spiritual successor?
I just really like the game, it's essentially Bioware before Bioware turned to shit, but a little less finetuned and with less understanding of the core mechanics. Story, dialogue, and character writing is up there with some of the best Bioware had to offer, but there's some things lacking in other departments yeah.
>no one still PROPERTY INTRODUCED themselves
I don't care about good games being appreciated but I don't see the appeal for this game when there's better games that got a worse wrap here
for example dragons dogma, it's by no means the perfect game sonygros made it out to be but it's far superior to this game in pretty much every way.
there seems to be almost nobody talking about how mediocre greedfall is
Yeah the threads are absolutely never filled with people calling Greedfall out for not even being better than Witcher 3 and being an SJW shit fest.
>if I don't like it you shouldn't like it either
Really, Yea Forums? It's time to grow up already.
>Thought people were memeing about how often De Sardet introduces himself
>They weren't
Not too far in but I honestly wasn't expecting over half of my charisma checks would just be my dude leveraging his status. I love it. Also why the dick are beasts much more annoying to fight than other humans? Like killing 2 beasts takes me a while to do and they 2 shot me on hard, but a band of 4 native rebels is a cakewalk that ends in a blink of an eye. Granted I should probably start wearing actual armor since I invested a point in endurance but the armors just don't evoke the proper authority in dialogue.
>there seems to be almost nobody talking about how mediocre greedfall is
It's a Spiders game.
If Mars: Warlogs, Bound By Flame and Technomancer haven't taught you by now that Spiders makes poor to middling eurojank RPGs with niche appeal, I don't know what to tell you.
what is the reward for the professor's notes quest?
It's the only one I haven't done yet
>Not too far in but I honestly wasn't expecting over half of my charisma checks would just be my dude leveraging his status
You will make you teacher proud
See, I think Greedfall is one of the best games ever made, but I accept its faults at the same time. The face animations are garbage, the Tenlan enemies are infuriatingly annoying, there's too much time spend walking and the game could seriously benefit from having a mount, and the world is simply too big without anything to fill it up. But underneath that it's a fantastic experience that feels different enough to stand out.
And I love Dragon's Dogma as well, as well as Dragon Age Origins, I'm just in love with this kind of game and there isn't enough out there that live up to their standards, it's a pretty dry niche type of RPG.
>for example dragons dogma, it's by no means the perfect game sonygros made it out to be but it's far superior to this game in pretty much every way.
Dragon's Dogma is a typical Japanese game that places way too much focus on pointless melee combat.
AAAAAAAAAAA
And they're absolute retards for it mind you, calling Greedfall SJW is about as dumb as calling it a colonial powerfantasy, the fact that both sides of the retard isle got upset over Greedfall only proves that Greedfall managed to maturely handle its topics to the point where two extremist faux-controversial groups can do their own reading about it and come to different conclusions.
what does this quest even give?
I was considering it but
1) can you take the evil route and play as a rutheless conquistador?
2) can you tell party members to fuck off?
You madman
I REALLY wish I could pit the factions against each other, fuck the bridge alliance and it's dickhead governor
a real shame that the game lacks any meaningful relations between factions and that you need to be on good terms with the alliance to get the good ending
This exactly. At least greedfall has content other than just whacking monsters with a stick.
I don't believe the Spiders redemption arc for a second, especially not given the obvious viral push.
it doesnt do either well
>there seems to be almost nobody talking about how mediocre greedfall is
What the fuck are you even talking about ? Greedfall is frequently getting critics for re-using assests, and having a shallow combat system here, especially ITT.
However, it's still a solid AA RPG game, with quite a lot of charm to it.
Also:
>I don't see the appeal for this game when there's better games that got a worse wrap here
If everybody were like you, we would have never got The Witchter 3, because of how painfully mediocre the first one was.
>Why are you not playing Greedfall?
Waiting for a patch because my main quest is bricked.
>game "journalists" complain that it isn't any of those things
Which is it
The most common misconception about this game is that you get to be an evil colonizer or the goodie two shoes anti-colonial powerhouse, but you get to be neither. You're a diplomat and you have to keep everyone happy.
The entire island is essentially torn up into various factions, the natives that try to keep their religion, politics, and social life alive. The Theleme which are basically the Spanish religious fanatics trying to enforce their religion on the natives. The merchants which rule the island and the new king is your cousin. The Arabic/Ottoman Empire which are essentially just very ruthless colonialists willing to go very far to get their way. Nauts which are sailors whom like to get involved into schemes to get rich and control all of the import and export from and out of the island. And the coin guards which are supposed to be sort of the island's actual army/police but are corrupt as shit and have their own politics.
Your character's goal is to keep the island, which is in a stalemate because none of them can grow any larger, from going into all out anarchy or war. Along the way you discover all kinds of schemes and plots that you need to end before they grow and start to threaten the peace, and discover that even you yourself as a character are being lied to.
>only snoys praise Dragons Dogma
???
Why are there no good agility weapons. Scythe and Odachi are both STR weapons. I've been using the fucking arena longsword since meeting with other governess for first time and now I'm looking for high king.
You properly shouldn't since the faction you're representing benefits the most from the status quo, so your job is to keep everyone playing nice more then anything.
But getting on good terms with the Alliance is easy, and you can do it while making them less dickheaded. Do all of Aphra's quests, spare Asili then take his ass to court to show them that science doesn't excuse everything.
>pirated it and refunded huurhuurr cringe
Your brain is melting user, you get your shitpost scripts confused
it may be easy but I don't want to be "friendly" with those backstabbing cunts
>sparing the nigger mengele
lmao
He gets fucking executed even if you spare him. You get to watch.
>Starting a greedfall thread with a nipponese mango image
Yeah no
I know, that's what I did, but I still want to stick him with my sword
Don't be greedy with the sauce.
The game looks janky so I am waiting for the devs to get done with the game before trying it out.
There are often very few reasons to buy a game close to launch. Either pirate it or get a "complete edition" for a fraction of the original price.
Because the quests and the characters are boring
I played for 15 hours before dropping it
Are there no legendary guns?
I've found a legendary rifle.
Good for you
>centrism
What the fucking bullshit of a premise
>The Queen's Farewell
>Censor
>Mortuary lotion
WHERE THE FUCK ARE THESE ITEMS AND WHY DOESN'T THE GAME TELL ME WHERE TO GET THEM
Only found a rifle yet.
you might be retarded user
Just craft them or buy them at the nearest vendor lmao
You aren't a philosopher or an activist, politics and centrism doesn't come into it. You just have to get as much power and money into your merchant kingdom as possible.
I wish that these plus stats accessories wasn't crafted into armors so you wouldn't need to change jackets every time you want something
Its just work.
The thing is that sure there are better games but you probably played them to death already, yes?
So its like solid meal when you are hungry.
Nothing great but its not bad and you are hungry so its taste better than it should.
From?
Disappointment for you, but your teacher is proud of you for finding professor's notes.
Questchain given by bridge alliance governor. You get to loot it at some doctor's office towards the end. stop him, not kill
>250G
The way the natives think I'm one of tgem kinda reminds me of that chimp that was raised as a human and then after the experiment was just dropped with a group of other chimps.
I finished Siora's romance plot, how do I fuck her?
She said some shit about hanging out at my place but that's all I gathered really.
Go to your home and then upstairs
can you finish the game without doing the other factions side quests or are you railroaded into them when trying to get their help?
I might do another playthrough just to see the Kurt siding with the coup
Women can't fuck other women. Never mind the fact that it's bestiality.
nature magic
There's nothing wrong with treefucking
Is it worth my time/money?
would've been cool that you were made to create a bond too to get a chance in the end
>reach final boss
>whole party stays behind to help
>you arrive with your own naidag
>you battle half like Pokémon battle half like stands
really hope someone does some mods besides reshadings and no stats needed
kurt fucking dies
Based spoonfeeder
what do I skill lads? I've pirated it and just started. I like dialogue options the most. do I go mage or tech and should I immediately skill charisma or go for lockpicking?
I don't like how the story is setting up for an anti pollution message where the argument is "just roll over and let gaia tell you what to do". also the bridge and theleme are way too 2d, radical science and religion, no nuance. Even if the designs are great.
Intuition and charisma gives the best dialogue, science and crafting gives you the best boon in combat and science can even boost your sneak. Vigor is a huge waste in my experience.
Most skills can be granted +2 bonus points from gear and allies except for lockpicking, you can only get gear bonus.
It isn't "Just roll over and let gaia tell you what to do" it's "If you're taking something, give it back" in this case plant fucking trees.
intuition
charisma you can get cape
and lockipicking you can either craft addon for jacket or steal kurt one
>muh sekrit club
>Dundun was right all along
What's the argument though? Else gaia gets pissy? Why should one entity get to hold everyone else hostage with their arbitrary rule.
or you run out of oxygen
thanks based spoonfeeder. my gtx 1060 is pulling 20-40 fps. at 1440p with ultra. what options should I lower for moar? I'm lazy as fuck today.
That doesn't seem to be the prpblem though? Are the monsters and malichor a result of low oxygen?
What is analmenawi anyway
maybe the entity is looking out in the long term compared to humans.
Yeah, doesn't mean it gets to act like a tyrant.
But I am. Currently trying to decide whether I want to romance Kurt or Siora.
>the bridge and theleme are way too 2d
You are right about the bridge but why lie on the internet about Theleme?
The game shows Theleme in all its colors, good and bad. There are zealous faggots but also honorable gentleman. Even RENOUNCE YOUR GODS gets a moment where he actually helps you.
I dont see how their treatment is one sided.
Bridge fags on the other hand... I wanted to be an arab bomb lord but the game just didnt give me anyway to cooperate with them. They just keep trying to buttfuck you, then kill you, and when you call their govenor out he just goes
>oh sorry didnt know
Is there any way to avoid fighting with Cera?
I've only played for a little bit since I haven't had much time recently, but I already hate ranged enemies.
Maybe I'm just bad, but I've had several instances of "I can do enough damage to kill you in the time it takes you to get within melee range sucks to be you lol" and it's pissing me off. Is melee just not viable in this game or am I doing it wrong?
*ahem*
A little poison on your legate
Kurt. How is that a dilemma at all, greenblood?
What the fuck are you guys on about?
Fichtement isnt causing the malichor, the malichor is just there because the land is fucked. People getting fucked because the land got fucked isnt some sort of dictactorial rule of the land because the land doesnt have a will in this.
Was the Witcher good? I enjoyed playing it, but as I get further away from playing it, I keep feeling like I had stockholm syndrome, especially since my favorite parts was after the swamp.
No, I really meant it. I wasn't being Ironic
Take combat roll. ROLL ROLL ROLL around to ranged enemies and kill them first.
Preferably with 2H weapons which have AoE so you can kill the cluttered ranged enemies quickly.
Also the game kind of wants you to branch out a bit and not just do 1 branch 100%. Even with just the skill for using guns you can do a lot of damage to ranged enemies.
My problem isn't even that they're all zealots, it's that it is so overwhelmingly their identity. As if a country(and seemingly superpowers at that) just hedges everything on one thing like this. It's like if you made england a faction and they exclusively weighed the merit of everything on how much tea they could acquire from it, and the governors are the top tea drinkers and all the expeditioners are out to find more tea leaves.
I thought there wasn't a dilemma at first, but Siora ended up being in my party for like 70% of the game so far and she kinda grew on me.
And let's not go, Vasco.
Have a day off gaming every three days of vidya.
Also I'm disappointed that guns are just a side-arm and not an actual weapon.
Your loss.
HAIL QUEEN DERDRE
RENAIGSE GET THE FUCK OUT REEEEEEEEEE
Because it turns out I missed a whole sidequest chain, and I'm going to have to load a save from an hour or two ago and redo a bunch of shit. I just can't be arsed for now.
get a multishot pistol
Thats a bad comparison. Look at the past, people majorly identified with their religion. Especially in a church organisation (countries in greedfall are more like guild organisation than straight up traditional countries).
Also just look around you, there are so many people whose primary outlook on life is their self-identification with ideology, be it in terms of tranny sexuality, alt-right, belonging to the conservative christian flock, being part of the muh intellectual progressive SCIENCE Rick and Morty club, whatever.
My point is that strong self-indentification with your factions values is something so dominant in history until modern times I dont see how its off-putting in Greedfall.
INSIST
INTRODUCED MYSELF
A bit of crafting on my skilltree and let's craft ammo
>guns are just a side-arm and not an actual weapon
Guns are actual weapons and once you have science 3/intuion 3 you can fuel all your ammo needs to shoot everything to death.
You can literally fight with only guns if you want to. What makes them a side-arm in your eyes and not an "actual" weapon?
The only thing I use melee weapons for is parrying, and even that is rare.
Nowhere in history has a large country had the kinda learned men density of the bridge.
working
will once I'm off the clock
Thanks daddy, I'm gonna coom to this :)
My autism prevents me from considering them an actual weapon if I not have it out all the time and the button to attack with them isn't the same as the melee buttons.
well cease your autism
I kinda feel you. It's annoying
>every tavern and palace has the same layout
This feels like such a stupid way tp save manhours. Making a layout doesn't seem like it'd take too much time but it's extremely noticable
We have no idea what the "learned men density" of the bridge actually is. Their alchemists clearly have tons of political power, but I imagine their actual population is 90% farming peasants or whatever back on the continent.
The impression I got is that the settlement on the island is primarily a scientific expedition for the Bridge, while for Theleme it's primarily a religious expedition to convert natives and research their founder. I doubt that their homelands are quite as extreme in the amount of researchers/priests respectively.
RENOUNCE
Ok
I've got contract work till tomorrow evening and I can't risk getting sidetracked for several hours.
NO DON'T
youre not gonna insist your way out of this

>derdre really thinking someone else is more easier to manipulate than her.
Should I always stay on right path or is there something cool on the left?
My little native companion can't be this cute
I am, though. Maxing armor and guns first for the real Sir Roderick experience.

>Kotaku didn't like the game despite liking the game JUST because the setting is problematic and has too much racism
Fucking based
Didn't get very far, but do guards igrnore my companions when I stealth around?
Can't tell if they spotted them or they somehow spotted me with the sidesight.
companions can literally crouch right in front of them and nothing happens
They ignore companions.
Also just use disguises, stealth in this game is both shit and pointless.
Oh, thanks. By not very far I literally mean that. Still in the port and was just wandering around.
Hate the accent of the natives desu.
Fair enough. If you want to wander around the Naut only parts of the port you can wear a Naut chest-piece (there's one with sailor in the name you can pick up in the prologue area) and they won't bother you. If you pick up one of each of the other faction's outfits too and stash them you'll pretty much never have to stealth again, they work throughout the whole game in almost every situation.
Bone blowers are a disgrace, that much is certain.
Please tell me you can side with proper civilization and erase the woodniggers
