Because it's fun. I played the first two when I was 17 and loved them.

Played V3 when I was 20 and it was mediocre. Might be because the game sucked.

Did...did they really do that?

If so...why would they do that? Did they have a specific goal in mind?
I found the characters very well written especially nagito but did they just fake all that?
Why did they put so much passion for a 15+ year old game? If they really did put passion, otherwise I was dumbly manipulated by them

Yes. The first game was CERO D (17+) and they made the second game 15+ on purpose to target a wider audience.

Yeah most characters in DR2 are well written. DR1 not so much but they're still fun. I never personally discuss the game with anyone outside of Yea Forums but that's okay, I'm glad younger people get to enjoy a game I like

People don't die horribly in DR, they lay there with a pink splat on the. Also deaths are literally NEVER taken seriously and are immediately forgotten about by everyone including the single character who cares for them and they instantly move on.

I would've enjoyed dr if I was 14. Hell, I played the first one on vita when I was in my late teens. Is this bad? Danganronpa is kinda old news at this point so the fanbase pulling younger kids who haven't played it yet seems like the logical step. Don't tell me teens aren't mature enough to comprehend or appreciate it's story and characters, because all the discussions I've had about dr certainly don't exceed beyond what a teen could understand. That's not a bad thing, if you're a teen who likes dr you probably aren't a normalfag trying to fit in by liking anime games since it's pretty niche. Just learn to accept that nerdy teens like the stuff that came during your time with the same enthusiasm you once had.

Here's a funny thing, I played the american version because before sd2vita the game size was important to me, and in that version the characters are actually 20 years old, at the start the fortune teller guy says he can drink because he is 21 and that he is 3 years older then the others; 21-3+2=20

I played the first one 3 times and the second 2 times. I like them but I was never really critical of them. I'm not sure if I could enjoy them fully if I played them right now, but I still think they are better than V3. That game dragged. Terrible pacing but is otherwise a good game.

It's a great game for chuunis

DR1's concept has a strong appeal to teenagers
DR2 delivers a great message for teenagers
V3 reads like it was written by teenagers

Your average high school kid should be able to handle anything in the main games, the only outright gore/torture porn that isn't heavily stylized is the Student Council Killing Game which is only in DR0 and DR3 (where it's heavily censored)
Ultra Despair Girls is what I'd take issue with, there's some heavy horrible shit in that story and it doesn't pull any punches. It's great stuff but it could be fucking traumatizing for some unprepared immature kid.

Junko's design is very striking and immediately recognizable but still pretty simple (just like Monokuma), so it's an easy cosplay to pull off.
She's also a very popular/well-known character in general, especially before the rest of the series was easily available in English. Plenty of people would recognize her without really knowing what Danganronpa was, even more than Monokuma.
