No need to thank me, kid, it's on the house.

Beard did nothing wrong

>tfw people are finally figuring out that 2 is miles better than the first one
feels good man

Me too

I don't get why everyone hates 2

1st one has better OST overall

People mostly wanted some closure with Miami Mutilator.

2 is way more explicit with its story so it loses out on some of the tone

Post favorite song

It was obviously Pardo. My problem was what baring it had in the overall story of Hotline Miami

When you realize the main menu isn't showing a windy day in Miami

Pardo was after him.

Forgot my link like a dumbass

if you hadn't realized the whole plot point was Pardo was batshit insane and actually the miami mutilator himself, damn bro

objectively speaking, not really
although it suits the game perfectly, it feels more ...videogamey? It really makes you feel like an unthinking killing machine

Are they ever going to make another game? HM2 was 5 years ago.

So during the outro of Pardo's final level, what was exactly happening at the police station after he woke up?

I always thought the cops eventually became extremely suspicious of him, but from the way the phone call is worded, it seems like there's an assault going on?

Some people say the Final Cut level is actually taking place here, and that it's not a film. It all sounds crazy brehs

Pardo's last level is a dream. The phone call is trying to get him to come and help with the riot caused by the president being assassinated

I don't remember the details but I think the whole scene was just his paranoia, he holed himself up, but the police was probably busy with the coup d'etat or whatever.

For me, it's Future Club

1 has more of an experimental OST, while 2 is straight up action synthwave. But I am not gonna miss Richter earrape from the first game.

it was his paranoia

for me, it's run

I replayed HM2 this month and I enjoyed it a lot more on replay. I had only played the game one time prior to that and I remember it as a mostly bad experience. But this time I had a lot of fun with it, and I got pretty engaged with the story too.

There are some real fucking stinker levels, but for the most part I enjoyed it.

For me it's Deep Cover, that song is Hotline Miami to me.
in HM2 it's Life Companions - Richard

>No way the game is that old
>It is
It stills feels like it just came out recently, fuck.

the level design in 2 sucks

>pick the wrong gun in hard mode
>might as well reset the whole level

1 barely has level design. all levels basically play the same.

>1 barely has level design
2's maps are way too open and make the game play more like a topdown cover based shooter

For me, it's El Huervo and Perturbator. Also, Carpenter Brut a shit and their tracks suck ass.

>carpenter brut a shit
>when they made the two best tracks in the game Roller Mobster and Le Perv

You just listed artists, not songs. That said, pretty based opinion, Carpenter Brut is overrated, they just make farty predictably energetic music, feels pretty soulless compared to the other tracks.
>El Huervo
I think my favorite song from the first game may be "Turf Main"

call me a pleb but this never fails to get me hyped

The Way Home is just behind it.

pretty based taste, user.

The Hotline Theme by Benny Smiles is underrated. That song made that level bearable.

I think it's more realistic and arguably more creative though. HM 1's map were initially simpler in the first levels but they eventually got more windows like in your pic.

Personally I don't mind the change but I will agree HM2 had some over the top levels

Miami Disco

I actually like Carpenter Brut, but Perturbator is my top dog. Scattle and El Huervo are good too. I'd honestly have a hard time picking between the three that aren't Perturbator.

I can understand overrated but I don't know how you can hate Carpenter Brut. Le Perv especially, when it plays during the prison riot it's just the most pumped up thing in the whole game.

HM1 > HM2

DETECTION, DETECTION is underrated, and slaps.
