These threads are so boring, it's mostly just pcbros flipping out over it being on epic and then just shit posters that are just valve drones.

The games really good, I'd say it's even better than BL2 and the last boss fight I had was better than any BL boss ever, the guns are solid and fun and the writings isn't as bad either, definitely improvements all around.

The performance is pretty lack luster, even high spec PC's are having frame drops which is down to whatever bugged mess the optimization team left the game in but I imagine it'll be ironed out soon enough.

Story was complete horseshit

FPS were insanely popular at the time BL1 came out, and it gave people a lot of FPS without leaning on competitive multi-player on top of more or less creating loot shooters. I think it was just in the right place at the right time, but I can't see the appeal of BL at all, I got bored really fast every time I tried to play both 1 and 2.

I mean, they're decent experiences when you have a group of friends, also they're available for all possible platforms, they're very casual friendly and have some obnoxious and edgy humour that youngsters just love, and it's really just about the only major looter shooter out there, with the only serious competitor being Destiny which came out way way later down the line.

I remember getting the first BL for christmas present when I was a kid and I was fucking stoked. The engravings and foil on the box looked fucking awesome and I couldn't wait to play it. Total playtime, maybe fucking 6 hours. Even as a kid, the game wore off quickly and bored me to death with its endless walking and mediocre gunplay.
I do own the second iteration with all its DLC, I've tried to start playing the game for 5 times total. Each time the session ends after 2-5 hours, when I reach the major city. It's just so fucking BORING.
And don't get me wrong, I don't have ADHD or ADD or any of the sort. I love slow, methodical games like Fallout 1 and 2, games like Iratus and Darkest Dungeon, Battle Chasers: Nightwar, but Borderlands games are like Kryptonite to me, at least I'll never suffer from insomnia because of them.

Basically everyone playing BL3 came into it from BL2.
No one likes Lilith, Tannis is nice as a background character, fat ass is tolerated and the brick and mordicai or just funny little NPCs.
The people that the audience came into this series with are either unceremoneously kileld off or absent leaving us with piss poor BL2 flavored versions of the BL1 characters that were so unremarkable and unlikeable before.

I'm only a few hours in, but it's growing on me. I didn't really like it for the first hour or so, it starts off really slow, but picks up a lot after you save Vaughn. Graphically it looks like a slightly shinier Borderlands with more effects, but I don't know what everyone was expecting there. They weren't going to drastically change the way it looks. There are some nice QoL improvements going on under the hood. Some of the cover is semi-destructible, you can chip away at junk fences and such. AI for enemies is better, they seem to dodge and flank more than they did in BL2, and they also use more elemental weapons. Crouch sliding and mantling feel natural. Vehicle controls are tighter, and you can customize them more. Guns have more punch overall, you'll send enemies flying with shotguns. They also remain viable longer than a single level. Loot distribution seems to be pretty balanced, I'm seeing a decent amount of rare weapons and gear. Some of the UI changes are unnecessarily cluttered, and some (it's easier to do on the fly weapons comparisons) are better. I really like being able to swap around action skills. I don't like the way they changed how the vending machines display weapons, they should have kept that simple. Fast travel from the Echo map is nice, you don't have to run halfway across the map to get back to your runner now. The soundtrack so far feels like it's way more subdued than BL2, that feels like an odd choice and doesn't lend any sense of urgency to the game. I do think the wincing humor has been reeled in somewhat, Claptrap isn't nearly as overbearing as he was in BL2 and TPS (so far). It's a modest iteration on the series, which is about what I expected.

Maybe it's just because of the art style, but it looks exactly the same as 2. It just looks like a borderlands 2 expansion from the videos. Base PS4 seems to hold pretty steady , although I've never been really sensitive to fps drops so it may dip lower at times and I just didn't notice it.
