I miss Blame. I would play a MMORP about that Solar system.
That fucking ending broke my heart
how famous is blame in japanese popculture?
are both the series and it's creator famous and well regarded in japan or is it niche and hardly known?
i can't say I know many Japanese media that reference it
>watch trailer
>it's just people with shotguns and dusky coats shooting at tree guys
you sure?
Game has strong gigeresque undertones in some parts.
How the fuck did Sanakan impregnate Cibo.
Gaem?
I don't know but BLAME! is heavily inspired by western art and concepts, so maybe this will suffice as an answer.
niche as fuck, the author decided to go full generic manga soon after blame because his daughter asked him to make good manga like naruto?/one piece?/some shonenshit that I don't remember and he actually became popular
>Nihei-verse game never ever
what feel? sadness?
Sidonia?
>child says make shounenshit
>get popular as a result
fucking wow
>because his daughter asked him to make good manga like naruto?/one piece?/some shonenshit
Holy fuck what a cunt.
Naruto? a friend of mine told the same story but about fucking Berserk
that is sad but understandable.
it had a very unique look and setting compared to most mangas coming out around the same time and nowadays
I don’t know what you people are bitching about, Sydonia was great
its a top 50 manga when it comes to popularity
I guess you gonna hate it now for being too popular
.
>That fucking ending broke my heart
me too fren, me too...
Hollow Knight has a dark bug design kinda like this pic
>Biomega
so you mean a game that starts off fine and then absolutely shits the bed halfway through to the point of straight up disappearing half of its cast into the ether like they weren't even in the manga in the first place?
what the fuck happened while he was making that fucking shit?
EYE has already been mentioned I think, but you can also try NAISSANCE which is HUGELY inspired by blame! which isn't exactly biomega as the entire game takes place in a sprawling changing interior megastructure, but might hit the spot for you.
madness project nexus 2
>"Why yes, I did win the Tanikazebowl."
>"How did you know?"
thanks user I'll give it a read, looks nice
>MUH BLAME
OPs pic is Biomega tho
To clarify, nihei quoted his daughter saying literally "Dad why won't you make an interesting manga like attack on titan..." I did hear attack on titan gets interesting like a billion chapters in but that was years ago when it was still just resting on the premise. Which is funny when you think about it, because sidonia ended up being incrediblia similar :
>seemingly last bastion of humanity is under constant assault by mysterious and cyclopean creatures
>they seem to have intelligence and planing but their motives are unknown
>main characters have some strange affinity with said beings
it goes on, it's pretty obvious he literally just did whatever his daughter asked for and imo it was dull as fuck. Even biomega was a huge step down from his previous work. Haven't checked out his latest on-going one though, but it looked pretty shit.
>That fucking ending broke my heart
why? people died sure but there was hope in the end
Start with Blame.
steamcommunity.com
>tfw no manga bf
I don't think a game based around the works of Nihei would work, they're too slow and atmospheric to work in video game format
Walking sim then?
sidonia had the space based sci fi edge going for it
youtube.com
the devs themselves said BLAME was their biggest influence when making the game. It's not bad honestly just kinda forgetable and short, I would only reccomend it to people who specifically want to wander and platform around that kind of aesthetic feel
>Sidonia was dull
t. speedreader
He's not very good at making complex engaging stories, however his graphical worldbuilding is phenomenal.
I loved Sidonia, curious what did you read that’s in the same vein but better
I wish n++ had online coop, I remember seeing that profile 3 years ago jesus
>Blame 2.0 has a narrator
Into the trash it goes
Some guy was making a walking sim based off it awhile back. I assume it went nowhere. You just endlessly climbed up a procedural generating staircase or something, looked neat.
Nanomachines
>I wish n++ had online coop
yeah it's a bummer
tfw biomass supercomputer president
Why are you doing this? I'm not going to add some anime freak from Yea Forums why cant you see this?
>tfw knight builds actually work with shit like the GBE existing
It has nothing to do with speed reading, you can't deny there are huge differences between his early works and sidonia. In my opinion nihei sucks at character or plot writing, but excels in world building (through visual clues mostly) and atmosphere, so it makes sense for me to enjoy his more unconventional works that focuses on taking you through an engrossing journey of a fantastically well built world rather than Sidonia which was essentially a glorified shounen with very typical tropes
Depends what you liked about sidonia. If it was the bleak hopelessness and seriousness of the situation, with a strong sense of camaraderie in face of seemingly stacked odds and mecha fighting against mysterious and incomprehensible creatures, then the only thing that comes in mind that does the same but better would be muv-luv alternative, but it requires going through a lenghty introduction not everyone will enjoy and it's also in the medium of a VN not everyone will enjoy.
On the other hand if what you liked was the sci-fi spacedaily life on a ship and character relationships part that you liked then I don't know really, I can think of a few like planetes but they're not as goofy or shounen as sidonia.
Okay.
